Yup, the CICO squad is on it again. Not that CICO isn't right on the money, (this IS a calorie counting site, after all, why would we be here if we weren't following CICO?) but honestly I'm starting to find whole conversations get derailed over the multiple, identical comments - and sometimes they're condescending too for…

Hi there! Congrats on your weight loss, you've done incredibly well. The thing that immediately jumps out at me is you haven't lowered your daily calorie goal yet. I'm not sure how much of a difference 14lbs makes on your TDEE, but at the very least you might have crept into maintenance. Smaller bodies need less calories…

It's just water weight and will eventually taper off. We have similar stats (I'm 22, 5'8 and 160lbs) and my TDEE is about 1800 calories a day sedentary or about 2050 on days with light exercise. If yours is close enough to that, your 1200 calorie diet puts you at about a 800 calorie deficit per day - you'd need it to be…

I'm no longer doing Keto but did it for about 6 weeks before transitioning into LCHF, which is way less restrictive. There are a few caveats to Keto you should keep in mind. 1) It's about calories, not your macros, if your main goal is weight loss. You can eat the fat or carb levels you like but it's gotta be in a deficit.…

I'm obsessed with carbs, unfortunately; we have a love-hate relationship. My overindulging led to becoming overweight. While I would love to eat carbs all day long, it's never enough and I'm never full. So now I have a LCHF woe, which is really working out for me (22 pounds down). But man... do I seriously miss my carby…

There are a few vitamins (called fat-soluble; vitamins A, D, E, and K) that are absorbed and through digestion by fat cells. Not saying you need a multi-vitamin, but 1/3 of your target daily is a significant deficit if you don't have a medical reason for it to be lower.

Bulimics are often a normal weight/overweight as well. I've been bulimic since 13 and have ranged widely from underweight, to normal, to overweight-almost-obese and back down again. The problem with EDs especially, and their addiction-like behavior cycles, is the person suffering gets very good at hiding it, lying for it,…

It's what they call the "Keto flu." Your blood glucose should start dropping today and you may even be a little dehydrated if your sodium seems higher than normal (happened to me with the added meats/cheeses/nuts). More water or Propel will help.

I just went on vacation across the Atlantic and was in the same boat as you. I'd lost 12 lbs and was hell bent on not gaining it back... but I'd also been planning this vacation for a long time and still wanted to do all the things I had planned (how could I expect myself to not eat chocolate croissants and my fill of wine…

I've been doing Keto for 2 weeks now and am down over 10 lbs ( probably half of that was water weight and I feel so much less bloated now). A good reminder, as someone already said, is that the calorie deficit is the most important thing if weight loss is your goal. For me, I can eat a ton of carbs in one sitting and then…

It was easy for me to get sick of meat after awhile. Maybe try lowering your protein intake slightly and raising your fat intake? I think I'm doing about 70%F 25%P and 5%C. I haven't gotten sick of cheese yet though which is good lol

Hi all! I've been on MFP for about 20 days, switched to the Ketogenic w.o.e. about a week and a half ago. I have ~40lbs more to lose and would love more friends on my feed to inspire and be inspired by.

I've been doing strict Keto for about 2 weeks and have lost 9 lbs so far! I missed sugar the first week but now I'm fully enjoying the stuff I can have: cheese, avocado, lots of nuts - yum. I don't feel like I'm on a diet which is awesome. I'm always looking to add more Keto friends on MFP, send me a request if you'd like.…

For me, the point of Keto is staying satiated so I eat less overall. I find myself struggling to eat more than 1000 calories a day because I don't find myself hungry between meals. As long as you're getting your macros and vitamins in, I would say keep doing what you're doing but see if you can reign in the portion sizes…

Keto is a great alternative to Paleo! It's less restrictive but still has that low-carb, high fat, focus on whole foods perspective that people tend to like Paleo for. But all in all I agree with others, if you cut something out that you love it's not really sustainable. You may even begin to resent your WOE. Everything in…

Always budget that 100 calories in so I can finish the day with a small glass of wine :) The beauty of calories in, calories out.

Keto newbie here! I'm enjoying every day craving that salty chip or sweet treat less and less. I hope you enjoy the change, it's taking me some time to get used to it but I think Keto can be a lifestyle if you don't eliminate *everything.* Friend me if you'd like

You CAN be successful this time, but it has to be purposeful. In everything we do, there's always tomorrow (this coming from a huge procrastinator myself). All it takes is the next meal to get on the right track, and then the next one, and pretty soon you'll be making better choices with little thought. Start today;…

Hi all! I started Keto this week as well (about 4 days in). I know almost nothing about it so I've been looking for groups that've been around the block with this diet. I've gotten to the point of overindulgence in the past year and I feel as though I'm literally addicted to sweets and salt... maybe we could help each…
