I'd skip it if you think it'll just make you sad. It can be rough enough. Plus, at your next weigh in, you'll see a nice loss more than likely.

Nope. Ol' reliable is exactly the same.

There's a whole psychology to how kids draw their parents, so whether you have a big belly or not, that drawn belly is big because it's important to how she thinks about you--not necessarily a literal depiction. That's not saying you shouldn't change if you don't like whatever you have going on, only that she probably…

I find a "can I help you?" goes a long way. Use your words!

@DoneWorking Your suggestion is really good. I've been thinking about this and OP a lot too. It's so rough and unfair to be put in a position like she described. My love to her and you.

You can do it! Logging is such a useful tool to see what's going on objectively!

I try very hard not to compare myself to others either positively or negatively. Doing that is a sure fire way to put me in an awful frame of mind. My motivation is wear cute clothes well. It's 100% a vanity thing for me, not that I'm not cute now-- I'd just like more options.

^This is true regardless of personal interpretation. It is shorthand for "don't eat" and has been widely co-opted by ED and ANA groups.
-
@augustremulous I'm the same way. Mean stuff has never, ever motivated me, just made me lose respect for the person who said whatever. And rightfully so! Why should I care what other people say? What qualifies them to be the judge of the beauty contest I never entered anyway?

You can't have your cake and eat it too. ;)

I have a daughter about the age you were in that first photo, so I thought that might be the case. Have you watched any other Kubrick films? I recommend 2001: A Space Odyssey if you like super visually appealing movies.

Great infograph ^

You've got to see this movie I saw a few weekends ago. It's so good: https://youtu.be/lKq7UqplcL8

The under desk ellipticals seem to run pretty reasonably priced. I may go for it, thanks for tip, folks!

Oh my gosh! Are you sure Soot isn't an escaped panther from the zoo? He's a big fuzz-o! And cute!

I would scale back a little of you're worried that it's getting out of hand. Maybe abstain from the social stuff or stop closing out your daily diary. That way you can break whatever fascination you've developed and start seeing logging as just a tool. There's nothing my wrong with admitting that you got carried away, and…

@ProgressNotPerfectionIAmEnough I really like your approach. Lindy West's Shrill is my recommendation.

I think the possibility of becoming obsessed is there, no doubt. Think if the ingredients... ...Emotional payoff for doing things "right", rather than your old, naughty bad ways. ...The extreme value many people and societies place in weight loss, and the almost moral narrative (my journey, battling cravings, losing the…

I'm lucky to work underneath a world class test garden. Less fortunately, I live in a northern climate so walking in it half the year is awful. Finding time for excercise during the work day is definitely a struggle of mine. I just always take the stairs and remind myself to leave my desk so I don't develop a blood clot or…

Go play pinball!

Another vote for the stationary bike! I pair my cycling workout with hand weights and I'm getting good results. Good luck! I personally love the idea of all us non-workout-looking people killin' it in private like a secret army!

MFP way over-estimates calories burned by exorcise. You're probably not that far under.

I don't have advice, I just wanted to tell you that I like your style. ;)

Definitely ask your doctor. It might be a good idea to get a referral to a nutritionist who specializes in prenatal care Pregnant women should get tailored care; every pregnancy is different.

I'm 32 and lost 20 lbs in 2017 alone. It's not any harder than it was before I crossed the mystical 30's threshold.

^What they said! Great work! Also: That lipstick is gorgeous on you!

Log it generously once just so you know what you're adding to your daily calories. Abstain from bites/sips if you find you're doing it often. That's a bad habit that should be kicked as part of your life-long lifestyle change. If it's just something you do like once a week or whatever, let it slide. No reason to get ultra…

I either don't bring it up or I watch my tone. It's too easy to come off as a sanctimonious scold, and I try to be more Ray Smuckles than Pat, if you feel me.

Use they body you have now! Your goals may be to change it, and that's great! But don't limit yourself to activities that feel like they're only for thin people. You can start today doing the things you'd like to try. http://www.boredpanda.com/plus-sized-yoga-jessamyn-stanley-fat-femme/
