  • Depending on how long you can wait, there will likely be another fitbit coming soon that is waterproof and priced between the charge hr and ionic. https://www.androidauthority.com/new-fitbit-smartwatch-might-fitbit-blaze-2-842011/
  • This is the kind of normal trend on MFP: there is a lot of interest after the holidays, and a lot of fall off after a few months. St. Patrick's day is the equalizer! But this is how weight loss goes. It's just continuous, daily, showing up. Checking are a great too, personal threads can be a great way to have a personal…

  • People talk about non food rewards, but I usually already do the things people feel are rewards regularly. My logic is to practice extremely intense self care: massages, nails, toes, hair color, botox, products, etc as a baseline to create a minimum that i (and my body) deserve. It helps me to value my body and to spend…
  • I started swimming at 375 lbs and almost immediately became a 6x a week swimmer. I swam for a year and lost no weight because i ate back the calories. A year or more later i started addressing the calories, now i swim 1 to 3x a week and walk 3+ times a week. I switched to walking more because I think I was pretty…
  • Ugh. I'm so sorry you had to deal with this. You have had a difficult time of it. The events you describe would be difficult for anyone. And you losing weight, taking on a project like that right now, (and succeeding!) Is so impressive to me. You should be so proud of yourself. As far as that that woman is concerned: snip.…
  • It's all based on start weight, your activity level, and your desired loss rate. You may have it set for .5 lbs or 1 lb a week. I set mine to 2 lbs a week because i dont want to get crazy about being a perfect food measurer so i build in a little buffer.
  • @cassie9393 emotions are so hard! I hope everything ends up well with that dog. I love all dogs but all people, not so much. Your poor pup! The tooth cleaning thing is a necessary evil. Sucks but we have to. Ugh. What is everyone else doing today? Distraction please!
  • @Mellykay88 glad to hear about your good news! Re the difficult convo: nice people want what's best for you even if it's not with them. Hopefully they will be happy for you even if they are sorry to see you go. @bmeadows380 congrats on your $$! It's a drag about the taxes. I had the same thing with commissions. Boo hiss.…
  • @bmeadows380 i think that might be geared to a younger crowd. Hook up culture stops before it hits us. If you're not into it, likely the person you will mesh with best won't either. And it's not going to be the highest on the list for christian singles if they are serious about their faith and if theu are your same type of…
  • Yeah, MFP won't likely add that service because it's already being used that way! There are singles threads in the forums and "would you x the person above" threads. If you are looking for people in your area you can search through users and specify certain stuff. Or find the threads for your states you would include in…
  • A lot of people don't want to say anything about it evwn of they do see it because they don't want to embarass or hurt you. Ive lost 60 and people tell me all the time that they thought i was losing weight but didn't want to be rude in case it was the wrong thing to say. There is another thread about how to deal with…
  • Hey!Here's my info if it helps. I started at 375ish and mfp gave me: 1900 (and change), set at sedentary, for a 2 lb loss. I've lost 60ish lbs and it's only ticked down to 1820/sedentary/2lbs a wk. I exercise and eat back usually around 1/2 of my calories. At the beginning i lost a little more quickly, bit, like you, after…
  • I wouldn't assume that they are motivated by you because they were you. I think it's likely they don't want to become you. You are inspiring to them, for whatever reason, but they likely logically know that it's more difficult to do certain things than them. Watching people do difficult things is inspiring; think of the…
  • @crazykatlady820 amd @Mellykay88 you are both soing so great! I can see such a difference!
  • I don't, but a lady at my gym does. She walks in the pool in the lane next to me as she is a nurse and by the end of her shift her legs have fluid buildup. If it is would be helpful, maybe give it a try? You can totally wear soft pants in then just grab a towel on the way out. Good luck to you!!
  • I would not have lost any weight if I hadn't focused on therapy first. Now it's not a huge deal. Its just a succession of habits. I'm in the midst of my efforts, but it's nuts how NOT dramatic it feels. And how forgiving I feel to myself and others. I wish i could just give everyone on here a pep talk! Thanks for your…
  • I think motivation comes and goes, but routines stay. So make a few routines that help you and just focus on those. Like you always do 3 stretches when you wake up. Low energy requirement but big sense of accomplishment. Do small routines like: 10 min walk everyday after work to decompress. 10 min walk after dinner with…
  • Let's all keep in mind the many tv shows based on how difficult dating is. Sex and the city, the Mindy project, living single, Golden Girls...everything good! @evilfairies Percentage wise, they will all be no's (immediate or eventual) until you find a yes. Right now, you just have to keep crossing people off the list of…
  • @rabidhamster87 until we'd. He thinks he is being punished! Poor dog. It's Sunday! What are people doing today??
  • These are all great suggestions. Either bank calories or lighten up or both. Or exercise and buy yourself some more wiggle room. I typically make a salad out of whatever I'm getting by swapping fries for salad, dressing on side, then protein on top (like ordering tacos and dumping them on lettuce, or cutting up the…
  • @Mellykay88 thanks! Turns out he had a bite between his toes and his constant licking caused an issue. He's good now and is happy...aside from the cone of shame!
  • @rabidhamster87 no worries and glad you figured it out! I think that the first 5 years are most intensive with kids and a great time for you to work at job 1. (Plus, you disnt sound thrilled about the other option). But 2 things I thought of were 1. that you can always work there later, after your kid is old enough for…
  • My understanding is that woo is shorthand for woowoo (pseudoscience). I think they wanted a way to quickly show that something was crap without being a downvote. But they put the worst icon with it because it's basically eyerolling. In any case, can we just use it at woo hoo! There is a lot more to be happy about than to…
  • ^agreed! Find something you don't hate. And remember, it all counts. So that pacing around a hospital while you're waiting for a prescription pounds as much as a walk in the park. See what you can do. I walked for 20 mins around Costco the other day. I count it!
  • @Mellykay88 i am ready for spring too! I love looking forward to it and enjoying the days getting sunnier. Sorry you're cold! I am pro blanket, scarf and hat whenever possible. I hate being cold! Re commercials: which were your faves? I didn't watch long so I only saw a few like the Jurassic park jeep one. Then the "thank…
  • Since it's not very comforting to say "weight loss isn't linear" I won't say that. Instead I'll say, ugh, I agree. I try hard to be positive, but sometimes it's a bummer. Sometimes it just sucks to see a higher number. Boo hiss. Super boo hiss. I'm sending you good thoughts and support because it's a drag. (But, if you are…
  • Yeah, there are tons of low carbers on the forums and I know they have tons of success stories there. Low carb high fat (lchf), keto, atkins, there are tons of specific groups and also recipes to help you. Also, im sure youll find great open diary friends there so you can get ideas (if that's something you'd find helpful).
