  • I think we typically have a more dominant side of the face. Where you can lift your eyebrow higher on one side but not the other or do something more intensely on one side than the other. So if you are losing weight and the facial muscles under your skin are slightly different, it makes sense that at some weight, that…
  • 2 things. 1. people who quit tend to gain, but gain less if they are exercising and actively trying to lose weight. You're in a great position right now to try to achieve *2 very difficult things at once*. But if you can't, who cares? Quitting itself is a fairly time limited experience. It will end. So if your goal is that…
  • It is absolutely real, and it's a real process in your brain/body. There are ways to fix it but since you said "severe" im assuming it's not just getting in the way of you being your best self but getting in the way of your basic life activities. If you're between 0 to 75 percent of "ok", seeing someone for meds is the way…
  • Just started Peter Atkins' Reactions: The Private Life of Atoms.
  • I can understand why some people would choose to act more naturally and not show anger, but here is why I suggested it: A. It's a human emotion and expressing your emotions when you feel them can be a healthy way to deal wuth them and move on. If you dont feel angry about how they treat you, no reason to express that…
  • I always hesitate when responding to these posts because there are not enough emojis to express my inflections and my meanings, and I'm always afraid I come across as sounding cold, calculating and mean. So please, when you read this, imagine that we've known another for a long time and that I am your fiercely loyal friend…
  • Reading the Best Science and Nature Writing of 2016. It's awesome! Also reason Macchiavelli' s The Prince.
  • I really enjoy eating this way, and I do think of it as more healthful. I'm trying to lose weight, so I have just subbed in volume so I'm not fighting hunger as well as any other changes. For each meal I typically eat two different kinds of fruits and at least 2 kinds of veggies. I think the variety makes me feel better…
  • Also read the short story Detroit Christmas by Larry Correia. Love the Grimnoir series.
  • This AM started The Secret Adversary by Agatha Christie, the first Tommy and Tuppence book. Read on Audiobook by Hugh Fraser (Captain Hastings from the BBC Poirot series). I enjoy books during this time between WW1 and WW2.
  • I just finished Not My Father's Son by Alan Cumming yesterday. Easy read. Very interesting conversation about childhood childhood trauma and PTSD/battle shock. Also, who knew about his connection with Malaysia? Not I.
  • 34 mins sidestroke and front crawl with an occasional backstroke once or twice.
  • Hello! Is it a female only group? There are a few groups for this already going if you just want to join a group and don't want the hassle of moderating. But if you're looking to create a specific type of space is it just kind of like Curves - ladies only? Im game for whatever. I'm already in 2 groups for the +100 lb…
  • Great job! But I think we should hear from your extremely cute dog. With pictures.
  • I think you'll never miss anything if you start from the beginning of a series, but once you read the first one i think you can read the other ones. they're not super serious even if they are thoughtful, and you can drop in and out. Once you know the gist, you can watch any of those titles. They're fun!
  • 48 (not 50!) minutes of laps. Mixed side strike, backstroke and front crawl. 89.1 degrees in the pool. A little too warm for me.
  • From time to time I've been really glad to see him.
  • Started The Inexplicable Universe by The Great Books Courses and Neil deGrasse Tyson. Listening on audiobook. Enjoying it!
  • Anyone a fan of the Terry Pratchett Discworld options? I enjoyed Going Postal and Hogfather. Not my favorite, but still fun.
  • So the Jack Black version's not a favorite? @tabletop_joe as a side note, I just read Gulliver's Travels (audiobook narrated by David Hyde Pierce) and A Modest Proposal for my nerd book club (we meet Saturday mornings at 8:30a if that gives you a feel for our devotion) and they were awesome. GT was equal parts hilarious…
  • Owlbox cares if don't nobody else care. Welcome here! Sent you a FR.
  • I'm not advocating my way, but this is what I do: I allocate money to making losing weight easier as a matter of course, and clothing is a necessity. Goals and treats are things I would not buy otherwise. Maybe a facial or lasering or jewelry, or experiences. I purposely count a ton of things as regular maintenance, so I…

  • I loved The Residence by Kate Andersen Brower about the White House through time. Also really enjoyed Jim Henson the biography by Brian Jay Jones. The Possibility Dogs (cadaver dogs) and Chaser (the border collie who knows all the words) were enjoyable because I love dogs with jobs.
  • 30 mins side stroke and front crawl.
  • There are tons of brands of sheet masks. Google it or look on Amazon and see your options. For basic moisture and staying in a low price range check out The Face Shop, Tony Moly and Innisfree. These are great for trapping moisture in your face before you lock it in with your facial moisturizer. Another option is to look…
  • Omg I just read an article about this. I should totally read it. It sounded amazing!
  • Realizing that I forgot to post an intro. I'm Clare and I read a ton. I read newspapers, articles, trashy books, science books, novels...everything. I need there to be a booky thread on here that's active so I'm hitting up anyone who's been on here recently to get it started. Please forgive all my thread posting. I'm just…
  • I just finished The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga. It won the Man Booker in '08. It was one of those books that you read and you're left with kind of a crap feeling. It was an interesting book about a very poor Indian man rising to wealth through dubious means, but I found no characters I thought were ok people and it left…
  • I'm from Portland and Sandman is required reading for nerds here. All the libraries have the set and we tend to have a ton of comic options here. I was just commenting on another thread about the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris. I started to watch true blood but it was hard for me to get into. Meanwhile I read…
  • That sounds great! Can you read it if you've never played or will it clue you in to the basics?
