Not trying - I've been IF for several years 16:8 daily. Lost weight, sometimes gained weight but mostly maintained weight with it. I don't consider IF a diet, as I don't consider sleep a form of exercise. There are a lot others on here that do variations of IF. There are also a few very active groups.

You could be referring to visceral fat, that is fat that's hanging off your internal organs rather that under your skin. You may look like you have a beer belly (pot belly), even if you don't drink. If you're health is up to it, you can incorporate HIIT (high intensity interval training) in your routine, 2-3 a week. You…

Www.dietdoctor.com has a lot good information wether your very low carb or higher low carb.

I use my Fitbit HR calories to determine my maintenance calories (minus 10%), but I take the daily average on a recently moderately active week and constantly eat at the same level. I think it's easier to plan for meals that way. Some days I may undereat and other days I'll over eat, but at the end of the week it will all…

I think the fat scare of the 70's, 80's, and 90's is going to take a very long time to die out. It's said that the scientific consensus usually advances when outdated ideas die out along with the authorities that defend them. Last year, I quit my primary doctor of 10 years for giving me crappy outdated dietary and exercise…

I keep everything simple. I'll have the same or similar meals and snacks most days of the week. I do add some variety, but 70% of what I eat is pretty much the same.
-
Not necessarily. There has to be deficit of calories, wether that's from restricting calories, exercising more, and or both.

Congratulations and welcome back :)

You just have to do your own thing wether you get encouragement from him or not. Don't make it a wedge issue. If he gives you issues you need to confront him. Consider yourself lucky he doesn't try to sabotage your efforts. My ex wife went out of her way to make sure I eventually failed.

In social situations where I know I won't have much control over the food or venue, I'll eat my full days protein allotment soon before the event, minimizing carbs and fat. I usually have chicken breasts. You'll most likely be full from all the protein, you will be less likely to over eat and still be able to snack or…

That calculator seems spot on for me. The calculator calculated 3380 calories to maintain my weight. I'm 6 foot 238 lbs (22% BF) and moderately active. I was 310 lbs. I eat at least 3250 calories at maintenance. My weight trends downward slightly during maintenance as long as I'm staying moderately active, and the majority…

I peed like crazy yesterday. I just had a sudden drop of weight over night - 5 pounds. I just ignored it. Thought it was another fluke. I went to the gym to lift weights and made impressive gains in everything.

Same thing here. I eat more during my meals that meet my macros. I eat whole foods , have less snack cravings, and I'm still losing weight.
-
I get craving all the time. I try not to think about or obsess about snacking, I drink some water and/or go to bed early.

Usually first line of meds doctors prescribed for high blood pressure is a diuretic (water pill). It will flush your body of excess water and sodium. I took a prescribed diuretic for a year until I got my diet and health moving in the right direction. Diuretics are cheap, safe and fairly effective.

Without tracking it, I gauge my hydration by the color of my urnation and the chapness of my lips. If my lips are chapped then I definitely know I'm in the red zone, if my pee is light yellow (like light beer) or lighter than I know I'm on the right track. If my urnation color is light, but lips chapped then I know I have…

IMO, take a break from restricting your diet, focus on eating healthy and maintaining your current weight, but stay in control. I would keep exercising at least at moderation. Take a week, a few weeks, or a month off, but plan on continuing your progress in the near future when you feel like you're ready. I lost 60 lbs…

The only natural way I know of boosting HGH is through fasting, and it's free. https://intensivedietarymanagement.com/fasting-and-growth-hormone-physiology-part-3/

From a diabetics perspective (I'm type II) I think most people would agree avoiding sugary and highly processed foods and drinks is the right and the first step to take. Focus on eating Whole Foods, from fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and meat. I know there's a lot of conflicting nutritional information out there…

While losing weight: Punching new belt holes is my most reliable measure (I've had the same belt for the past 70 lbs). But I also track my BF% (bio impedance), LBM and weight.

Me neither. I had to look it up (the link includes recomendations): https://www.dietdoctor.com/keto-rash-people-itch-low-carb @Mandafaye80lbs: I hope it clears up.

Not saying this is true in your case, but I used to frequently get a stomach bug from eating salads from restataurants especially fastfood. Once I started eating my own prepared meals on a regular basis I rarely get sick. When I do get sick - I fast and starve those suckers out of me.

I connected fitbit with MFP. I manually add my weight and body fat in Fitbit and it feeds my data to MFP. Meals I add on MFP feeds into my Fitbit. It's very convenient.

Perhaps cutting out some of the carbs and adding more protein and/or healthy fats during your lunch will help offset the sugar highs and lows. Taking a brisk walk after lunch always helps to burn off excess blood glucose.
-
I would guess your going through a blood sugar roller coaster ride from your lunch. You get a high from your high carb lunch within an hour and the crash about 2 hours later. At that time you crave seeets to help normalize blood glucose, but it often leads to another blood sugar roller coaster ride.

I recently noticed when buying meats on special, especially chicken, that I'm paying extra for water weight in the absorption pad and packaging. 6 pounds of bone in chicken breast, turns out to be 4 pounds outside the package, and then 2.5 pounds after cooking and pulling the meat off the bone. So $1.00 a pound really is…

I occasionally do 8 mile hikes, with a group of friends, and I restrict my carbs (I'm type 2 diabetic). We hike at a moderate pace over rough terrain through rolling hills and it usually takes 3 -3.5 hours to complete (with a 15 minutes break). I usually bring handful of nuts and berries, and a lot water. I add a few…

I spend about half of my week in a calorie deficit and the other days at maintenance. 3 days dieting the other 4 days mindful eating to my macros. I thought it would make weightless more bearable, but I actually find it enjoyable and motivating. I like to think of eating at maintenance as practice when I don't have to lose…

I would think most of that weight along with some fat may just be water weight. I easily lose 10-12 lbs of water weight initially when I restart cutting after a long bulk. Water weight is especially lost during a keto style diet. I'm 6'0 Lift weights and get plenty of protein to minimize muscle loss.
