  • BulkSupplements.com Creatine Monohydrate Powder You get it from there website or through Amazon.
  • I recommend this to my son, whom I’m helping with starting a training program. I downloaded myself to give it a try - customize his routine. I like it so far. Thanks for the recommendation
  • A few years ago I used to go trail running first thing in the morning (3-6 miles), but I would put off lifting weights till several hours later. Even though I would concentrate on upper body strength training, cardio still hindered my lifting performance, but not as bad as lifting right after cardio.
  • My first thought is a electrolyte imbalance (calcium, potassium, sodium, magnesium). Nerve misfiring signals to your muscles. I’m in a hot climate area, workout a lot, sweat a lot. I get slight tremors and suffer muscle cramps if I don’t get enough electrolytes. My go to is SaltStick pills, and adding extra salt in my food.
  • I’m 50 yo, but I’ve been lifting since my mid 30’s. I’m all about reducing risk of injury, increasing strength and mobility. If you’re a beginner or it’s been years since you’ve worked out, My suggestions is start off with low weights and slowly progress, higher reps (~12 reps). Concentrate on strict proper form, and full…
  • If you have an iPhone, there’s an app called Gym Log+ I know there’s not an android version. Nonetheless, great app with lots of bells and whistles. It’s not intended for beginner lifters. Its not filled with a bunch of videos of how to do lifts. Nor are there routines to follow. It’s your own routines.
  • You can lose, maintain, or gain weight with all those diets/lifestyles. I lose weight by cutting my calories.
  • I’m a T2D, in remission - controlled by lifestyle changes. When I was diagnosed several years, I was told that my diabetes and the neuropathy of my liver, feet and leg was irreversible and will progressively get worse unless I manage it with medication and conventional diet (high carb low fat). The best I could hope for…
  • I used a CPAP machine for sleep apnea for about 5 years until the machine burnt out. I loved that machine - I slept well. By the time the machine burnt out, I lost a significant amount of weight (60+ lbs.) but I didn't have the funds to do another $8,000 sleep study, nor pay for another $1000 machine. Soon after I…
  • I've had a high cholesterol reading during weight loss and when I went to get retested a couple months later while maintaining my weight by reading came out a lot better. First reading was 205+ and the next one was 125. Im type 2 diabetic, controlled by diet (LCHF) and exercise.
  • Eat several times a day to stoke up the fat storage. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, snack, dinner, before bed snack. And if you can manage it, a (3 am) night time snack.
  • Best thing is to experiment, try combinations for a while, and then weigh the pros and cons of each. You can split your workouts in the morning and evening (i.e. cardio in the morning and lifting during the evening or vice versa). I'm not much of a morning person but did find doing intense exercises in the morning helped…
  • I usually get intense craving after a long cardio session. Right after exercising, I usually have small piece of fruit and/or drink plenty of low cal electrolytes. That seems to significantly numb the cravings.
  • There's a website/phone app called Meetup. There's all kind of social groups on there for all kinds of shared interests - especially for singles. Most clubs are free to join. I'm in a hiking group and outdoor adventures club. A diet break as others have mentioned could be very beneficial. Sometimes we need time and effort…
  • As others mentioned before, calcium inhibit your absorption of iron in foods you eat in the same meal. Vitamin C aids in the absorption. I have the opposite problem which is too much iron, so I do the opposite recommendation for those that have iron deficiency.
  • Standard MFP setting are annoying especially if you have special/medical dietary needs. I had to upgrade to premium MFP to be able to set the carbohydrates and protein to fix amounts and to be able to look at macros at a glance rather than go dig for it or do calculations. I think it's well worth the upgrade.
  • There's a Type 2 Diabetes Support Group on here, that I would encourage anyone with type 2 diabetes to join. You'll find a lot and get a lot of great information. I'm type 2 as well with dawn phenomenon. It's is very common and people manage it differently. I don't do anything about my morning spikes, since none of the…
  • 4 gallons a day of any kind of fluid seems excessive, if not potentially toxic (water intoxication). I don't know if hyperglycemia is a symptom of water intoxication. I'm assuming now you've replaced Diet Coke with other fluids, but you're not drinking the same amount of total fluids everyday as before? Also, you may not…
  • Unlike other insurance products, I don't think health insurance companies in the US have that regulatory flexibility. Health insurance companies can't base premiums based on health or lifestyle status, other than tobacco use. Paired wellness programs, separately funded, is not as regulated and has more innovative…
  • Here's an active MFP group with good info: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1772-type-2-diabetes-support-group I use Bayer Contour Next Monitor and strips. You can find a meter for $5.00 on Amazon and 100 strips between $20.00- $25.00.
  • Try some nuts, seeds, cheese.
  • I love to party. I'll bank all my calories and macros within a day, so I can enjoy a party. Since most party foods are usually high in fat and carbs, I'll eat lean meat and raw vegetables before the event. I find it helpful to stay within maintenance calories by having a very satiating meal before going to any social…
  • You should get checked out by a doctor. Blood sugar problems is very serious. As a type 2 diabetic, before controlling my diet I used to go through episodes of pseudo hypoglycemia. That is, my blood sugar would rise after a low fat/low protein carby meal and quickly drop within a couple hours. My lows will still be high,…
  • I have the same reaction to melons and bananas. My allergist calls it a cross reaction since I'm severely allergic to ragweed. Those fruits are a close cousin to ragweed and my body can not distinguish between the two.
  • You should expect to gain some weight back after a fast, possibly more due to water weight fluctuations. Your body should settle after a week after a fast. Make sure you're in control of your refeed. Avoid binging. Prepare and plan what healthy foods you will eat way ahead of time.
  • I typicallty break fast around noon. Today its eggs, pork ribeye, and brussel sprouts w butter.
  • There have been 37 studies done on the effectivness of compression garments, like waist trainers. The results: Contradictory data https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22161265
  • I'm thinking it maybe true for some people, but not the majority. I've tested it out on myself to see if I could decrease high blood sugar and it did absolutely nothings to my blood glucose reading.
  • With that about of protein and calories, I would stick with meat and veggies then add other food from there (additional fat and/or carbs).
