Looked it up and wow, sure is pricy! :o

Also I’m not sure how much of the information out there about gut flora is real and how much is utter BS?!

Thanks! A Romanian Deadlift is a different type of deadlift. You start with the bar at the top rather than the bottom; bar only goes slightly past knees not all the way to floor; knees not bent as much. I have heard from others that we need to be closer to the bar on the RDLs, which is difficult to do in a smith machine.…

Thanks. You’re right, I haven’t really been feeling it in my lats at all. I don’t have full range of motion in my one shoulder but I will definitely try out your advice next time!

Please excuse my poor attempt at dark humor. For a real answer, when I am depressed & anxious, I don’t “forget” to eat but I simply can’t bring myself to do it. When I am really busy, I sometimes DO forget to eat, at least within a time window. Sometimes I’ll be so caught up on something at work that 2:30 will roll around…

I’m really, really bad at getting steps in. Seriously, I’m the definition of a desk job “sedentary” and I almost never remember to wear my Fitbit zip! The weather is looking a little nicer this week, so maybe I’ll go for a few walks around the neighborhood.

Thanks. I tried the high bar setup the other day, but it practically bruised me! My neck/spine was tender for like 4 days! Sounds like I need to play with it a little more to find the correct positioning.

For me it’s my protein shake (every weekday), almond butter (yum), and applesauce (what can I say, I love applesauce).

Unfortunately the smith machine is the only option at our gym, no other rack or barbells. Any fixes? Would stepping our feet forward more help?

@anetkastefaniak Just so you know, recomp typically means heavy lifting rather than cardio. The whole point is to replace fat with muscle :) I have just recently started taking recomp seriously and started an actual lifting program, and I can really see the difference already!…

Hi all. I missed logging in last week, so here are my caught-up numbers. Life really has been hitting me while I’m down, lately. I’m 90% sure that all my digestive issues are due to stress and anxiety but might seek out a gastro dr just to rule anything else out. Felt so nauseous all of last weekend and part of this week…

It can be difficult to get enough vitamin D from food sources, and sometimes even if it seems like you’re eating enough, your body just doesn’t absorb it well. Having dealt with the deficiency, I will say that Vitamin D is NOT one of those where you take the supplements for a week and then suddenly feel all better. It can…

Glad to see so many people jumping on the Happy Scale/Libra app bandwagon! It really is so helpful.

I think I need to push myself harder! I am new to the whole lifting thing and actually just started the “Fierce Five” program with my husband. Currently I am at 70lbs for 8 reps x 3 sets. I think I could do more, but I want to be confident in my form before loading more up. Also, should I be doing fewer reps with higher…

Hey everyone. I missed weigh-in this week. Actually, looking back, I think I missed last week’s thread too. Time to get caught up ... Vitamin D levels? Also thyroid. Could be worth it to do a full blood panel.

I’m glad to hear that you are talking with both your doctor and a therapist. All anybody here wants is for you to be both happy and healthy (mentally + physically)! If I may offer one more suggestion - friend people on this site. They are here to support you. “Friend” people of a similar size/similar calorie goals to you,…

I am 5’3” as well. Last measurements taken were ... Bust: 33” Waist: 25” Hips: 35” That was taken when I was 114lbs. However that was several months ago, I am now maintaining at 110lbs and started a lifting program, so I imagine things have changed. My waist is probably closer to 23-24” now if I had to guess. Can’t find my…

5’3” and 110lbs (in maintenance now) I can wear anywhere from a 0-4 (petite!) depending on the brand. 24” waist, 35” hips

Not only is 1200-1500 not going to be enough (and therefore not sustainable), it would be dangerously low for you and could cause serious health problems. At 5’1” and 292, your BMR (the base amount of calories you need even if you were in a coma) is 2017. So you really should aim to eat at least that much. Have you…

I think I might add some fiber gummies to the mix. I try and try but just can’t get enough in my diet. (And I’m hoping that’s the cause of my semi-chronic constipation.)

For the last few pounds, your logging has to be extremely tight. That means that even “the occasional splurge” could be throwing you off. Do you log it when you splurge? How many calories over do you go? Additionally, do you eat back exercise calories? You may be over-estimating your burn.

@arameni Magnesium is recommended for people who take vitamin D because they work off each other, which is why I take it. I do magnesium glycinate because other forms make you poo too much! :s
-
If you’re looking for a bigger bum, Strong Curves is a great program!

I take vitamin D and magnesium every night. And a ginger pill in the morning to help with nausea sometimes. Hmm should I start up with fish oil? I never eat fish (yuck!) and I do have really dry skin.

My mom has POTS! The most important thing I can say is to find a GOOD specialist, even if it’s bit of a drive. Her specialist was 90 minutes away but arguably the best in his field. Of course, she was diagnosed many years ago when drs didn’t know as much about it, so it might be a bit easier to find a specialist nowadays.…
