  • Hello again. So I started the July thread after a long absence and then promptly disappeared again. Mind simply just not in it, as much as I wanted it to be. This week I've started logging again, and food really has been my biggest downfall. And finding time with work to log on to the forum is challenging as generally I…
  • I logged a day late because I didn't realise yesterday was Wednesday :# 1lb down! Very happy with that as progress. Also found out that I will be returning to the office on Wednesday and I am very happy with that. Managed to get some runs and walks in and feel a little more in control. Until Sunday. It's my partner's…
  • Thank you all for your lovely comments! Nice to see so many familiar faces! @cayenne_007 Your hair is beautiful!
  • Thanks @chris_in_cal. Just found that group. Spending some time getting used to the watch, app and features and am liking it so far! Data is definitely more comprehensive than the Charge 2, but then that wasn't a smart watch. It just takes a little getting used to after 2.5 years of Fitbit!
  • Hi! Noob Garmin user here, received my vivoactive 4s today. Was a Fitbit Charge 2 user until now. UK based, trying to train to get to 5km runs (3.5-4k is my max at present). Need some challenges like on Fitbit to help keep me going! https://connect.garmin.com/modern/profile/43da3029-e339-4869-abd4-b366a1e93925
  • I was right last week, some of it was shark week bloat, so a nice drop in weight this week. I’m also not back at the gym yet because I have picked up the throat infection / cold that everyone seems to have. Partner has it too, he is 1-2 days ahead of me. More than ever am I looking forward to going to my parents tomorrow…
  • What are your stats (male/female, height, current weight)? 1200 cals is fine for a moderately active someone who is 5ft tall and 100lbs, but way too low for a moderately active 6ft tall person who weights 200lbs. I recommend you pop your stats in a TDEE calculator such as this one.
  • Woohoo, I'm back! Happy New Year one and all! Hope you all had fabulous celebrations for Christmas/New Year/Hanukkah and any other feasts I may well have missed! I have indulged (and enjoyed indulging) but am now tired of eating & drinking too much. Height: 5'10" HW: 183lbs (Fri 24th March 2017) SW Jan 2020: 171.8lbs (1st…
  • Some would say this is a disappointing month because I haven’t hit my goal. However: 1. My moving average has come down 2. My weight spikes have settled 3. I don’t seem to suffer bloating like I did before managing my intake again 4. I am back in an exercise routine 5. I feel good! Serious DOMS today after Pilates on…
  • @YoureAWalnut That does make it hard to track. But certainly something that will impact your weight so don’t beat yourself up over a little gain :)
  • @jfoster1129 You can join now! No need to wait for the next thread! @YoureAWalnut Where in your cycle are you? I gain a few days before I am due on, and then also find I’m a little heavier around ovulation.
  • This month has been all about the return of the routine! My gym visits are increasing, I’m walking a fair bit, and my eating is controlled. With the exception of this weekend because we were away (and had the most amazing burgers ever!). I am up slightly, but both my moving average and body fat haven’t changed which must…
  • It felt good seeing 164.4lbs on the scales this morning! It means I am back below 75kg (a little mini goal) and feel like I am back on track. I didn’t go to the gym yesterday because I was far too tired (seriously, a not safe to drive kind of tired). Luckily DP invested in adjustable dumbbells and a weight bench a few…
  • I do some core exercises as part of any weights/resistance routine, but not that much (a few sets of russion twists, or leg raises, or a mix of crunches). Then one pilates class a week which is a good core workout. For me it's again more to support my lower back as the weaker my core gets, the more I suffer from lower back…
  • @ku140 Hello fellow 5'10" 34YO! DP came home with a load of cooking apples last week so I simply couldn't resist making a classic Dutch apple pie this weekend (they came from someone's garden so wasting them would be a real shame!). Problem is that it's 500 cals a slice, so am having to adjust my daily diet to include it.…
  • Ah, shark week. The joy that is bloating, cramping, and a horrendous Tuesday. It can only get better, right? Height: 5'10" HW: 183lbs (Fri 24th March 2017) SW Oct: 165.8lbs (25th Sept weigh in) Ultimate goal: Around 150-154lbs Oct goal: 162-163lbs Oct body fat goal: 26.3% 2nd Oct: 166.4lbs – Body fat 26.9% (Mov avg…
  • Wow! It’s only the 4th of October and we’re on page two already! A bit late checking in as work is just too busy. Had my first PT session in about 10 weeks yesterday. I’m not aching much today but suspect I will be tomorrow! It was good to be pushed a but again. I’m not walking as much as I’d like because the weather is…
  • I have kicked off an October thread as today was my last September weigh in. Thread can be found right here!
  • Height: 5'10" HW: 183lbs (Fri 24th March 2017) SW Sep: Unsure Ultimate goal: Around 150-154lbs Sep goal: Hopefully drop below 168lbs (12 stone) Sep body fat goal: No idea. Will revise when setting Oct targets 11th Sep: 169lbs - Body fat 27.5% 18th Sep: 167.4lbs – Body fat 27.1% 25th Sep: 165.8lbs – Body fat 26.7% First day…
  • Berks here, just getting back to logging after a few months off.
  • So glad to see these monthly threads have continued in my absence! Hopefully this is me mostly back now. It’s been a stressful summer which took my focus away from my diet, but that helped me deal with life. Eventually my nan passed away (a chunk of the source of stress) and I promptly was ill for two weeks. Just very run…
  • Excellent thread name @Tryingtogetfitdeb! I was bad on holiday, then struggled to get back in a routine after. I have found my routine again now, with the exception of last night when I drank homebrewed cider (hic) and went out for dinner (with wine: more hic). Mind you, impressed that I'm only 1.2lbs up versus yesterday.…
  • Ooh, I synced about 90 mins ago, but since then no sync on Fitbit again. At least my diary is fairly accurate for today because of that one sync :)
  • My lunch time I entered once on my phone, but it's showing the same entry about 15 times on the web version, and I get an error when I try to remove it on the web version. Fitbit hasn't been syncing since late last night.
  • It should be something that suits you, there is no one size fits all. I suggest tracking everything for two weeks and then make small adjustments based on that. But remember that MFP counts all forms of sugar, good or bad, so it is near enough impossible to track properly. Just try to limit refined sugars. I mean, I am…
  • @_vicky2291 <shudders at profile pic> Clothing is a good way of measuring, if only for the satisfaction of seeing the day when suddenly whatever garment fits again! @Jayme101 Tough goal! How tall are you? @lawmomathome I started at a BMI of about 25.3, and am now down to the low 23s. Like you I know it's just a number, but…
  • New June thread is open for business! Beer festival was fab! Didn’t cause too much damage but yesterday (official weigh in day) was bloat central and sore as a result (seriously, cramps!). This morning? 163lbs. Yes! I did lose my phone/had it stolen at the festival, hence me posting a day late. Only got a new phone…
  • Was carrying some serious bloat from our craft beer pub crawl on Sunday so yesterday's weigh in was a little high, but this morning I was down to 164.4. In fact, Sunday morning I weighed in at 163.6 so I am not worried. No idea how next week will pan out as on Sunday we are going to a local ale and cider festival with some…
  • BINGO!
