Cholula hot sauce- zero calories, delicious.

I think you'll get a lot of different answers about what works. I do a full body lifting program 3x per week, and otherwise make sure to average above 10K steps per day. I'm losing weight (with a calorie deficit) and seeing positive aesthetic changes.

It's been pretty accurate for me. It estimates I average burning 2050c per day (my activity is fairly consistent day to day, too). I've been eating 1550 and consistently losing a pound a week.

Since my activity is pretty consistent from day to day, I just take my average calories burned per Fitbit and set my calorie target 500 calories below that. So, I average 2050 calories burned and my daily target to eat is 1550. So far this has come out to just about a pound a week lost.

I bake my eggs to "hard boil". I put them in a muffin tin, and cook for 30 minutes at 335. Very easy and they come out great!

Here's what I do: -My gym times are scheduled and I treat them like I would any appointment- go on time. -Once a week I go with a friend which makes it something I really look forward to. -I remind myself how great I feel afterwards and how much I could use the stress relief. -Those times where I am truly exhausted, I stay…

I eat two whole hard boiled eggs and four whites every morning, with hot sauce. It keeps me full all morning and gets a good start on getting my protein for the day.

I did CF several years ago. Here are some thoughts on my experience: Pros- fun workouts in a team atmosphere, focus on strength and health (instead of appearance) Cons- very expensive, a lot of emphasis on Paleo (I'm vegetarian!), I felt pushed beyond my capabilities and had some injuries I'm sure this is box specific and…

Since my goals are to lose some body fat while maintaining as much muscle as possible, I focus on calories and protein.

Greek yogurt.

Wow! Very inspiring!! You look awesome. Can I ask what kind of lifting program you used? What kind of deficit did you eat at?
-
I didn't lose for the first 3 weeks. Then the fourth week- down 4 pounds. It can be so frustrating but give it some time.

First, walking your dog is a must! Dogs need exercise to be healthy and happy. My dogs definitely keep me active. I doubt I'd be over 10K steps a day without them. But to keep muscle mass I lift heavy 3x per week (I highly recommend it!).

I totally understand feeling intimidated in the weights room. Most others in there when I lift are male, young, and strong. I take the attitude that since I'm weaker and older (and need more to protect my strength), and female (and need more to protect my bones), that the weights area is really MY domain, and I just let…

I used to feel that way. I felt like a lazy failure not getting in a workout. After some injuries and just get older, I'm a lot more relaxed now. It's very freeing! I go to the gym to weighlift 3 times per week. Other than that and daily walks with the dogs, I do what I want, and don't do what I don't want. It's been good…

For the past month I've been eating 500c less than what my Fitbit says I burn, and I've lost 4 pounds. So for me anyway it seems pretty accurate.
-
OP, when I first started calorie counting and exercising again I lost nothing for 3 weeks. Then the 4th week I dropped 4 pounds. I assume the water retention from being more active again was the culprit!
-
I actually typically feel fine on my normal calorie allotment- last night was an anomaly. I'm just curious what others do. For the record, I just had a big glass of water and went to bed!

First a cruise in 3 months. But more importantly my 40th birthday in Nov!

Injuries/ailments. I had a serious neck injury last year, along with a chronic quad injury and horrible plantar fasciitis. Im 39 but sometimes I feel 80! Im back to working out but I can get discouraged about not being able to be as fit and active as I was a year and a half ago. And I can't eat as much! I'm working on…

Maybe put your scale away and use measurements to track progress instead. Also, shake up your routine with new recipes (skinnytaste.com!) and/or exercises. The weight itself is irrelevant. Your health and how you feel about yourself are all that really matter!
-
Are you eating enough overall? Enough protein? Are you getting enough sleep? Are you over training? Lots of possibilities.
-
I'm not an expert but you are at a low weight for your height and have a lot of activity, so that seems like way too few calories. Combine that with your anorexia history, well it raises some red flags for me. I'd really encourage you to meet with a registered dietician for guidance.

I'm vegetarian and never, ever meet the protein goal of 1gram/pound (I'm also trying for 40/30/30 macros and staying at a slight deficit). I don't even come close without some protein powder. Like others have said, eggs (whites especially) and Greek yogurt are very helpful. I also use a lot of low fat milk in my coffees.…
-
Interesting! That makes me feel better- 137 grams of protein seemed impossible.
-
Yikes I guess so! What I'm doing isn't working:(

I don't weigh my food but I do measure.
