Krav Maga belt test last night. Very tough but I felt better than during my stripe test earlier this week. And I passed!

Last night was my Krav Maga stripe test. It was brutal, definitely the hardest one yet. I was so gassed by the end. Belt test tomorrow, and the intensity of the stripe test does not bode well for this belt test.

Nothing shows mental toughness like a strong finish after a tough race. Nice work!!

Scrapped a hike for today. My body is feeling pretty beat up, and I have my belt test this week, so I decided rest and self-care was more important. Took a leisurely walk with the dogs, stretched, had a big and delicious bowl of pasta for lunch, and now I’m going to take a snooze. I have mixed feelings about rest days, but…

How’d it go?

2 mile walk with my son and the dogs. I also helped out at a self-defense seminar at my Krav Maga school today. Lots of fun!

Did my first double at Krav tonight. Went to a regular Krav class, then stayed for a conditioning class. Felt great throughout but I’m pretty sure I’ll be feeling it tomorrow.

Yesterday- 60 minute Krav Maga class Today- sprints and silly races with my son (total of 2.5 miles). One race involved “slithering” up our front walkway. I was not good at this and I’m hoping none of the neighbors witnessed it😂

Wasn’t feeling it today. Just did a walk and a long stretch session instead of the planned lifting. Hopefully an active rest day will make me feel less sluggish tomorrow.

60 minute Krav Maga class. Belt test is next week so there’s a lot to do to prepare.

2.5 mile round trip moderately steep hike. I decided to do a “ruck” today and carried a fairly heavy pack (12% of my body weight). I was surprised at how much harder it was with a heavier pack! I’ll need to work on that.

I think it depends on the school. I do Krav Maga and my school is very welcoming of all abilities. We have very overweight people, a man in his 70s with some hip issues, super fit people, etc. Most of the activities can be scaled to your ability level or otherwise modified in some way. I personally was at an average…

When I used to run, it always felt like hard work until I’d done 3 miles. After that, I’d feel amazing (until about 5-6 miles in, when it would feel hard again).

Hi! I’ve been doing Krav Maga for about 6 months now. I love it! I’m not sure if this reference is helpful at all, but my Fitbit says I burn 200 calories on the lower end (more technical classes) and 300 on the upper end (conditioning classes) with all classes 60 minutes. I’m 41F, 5’5, 128 pounds.

60 minute Krav Maga conditioning class. LOTS of pushups.

I have the opposite issue- I’m very much a morning person, but the martial art classes I take are only in the evening (for one I don’t get home until my usual bedtime). At first I had some trouble adjusting, especially settling down to sleep. 6 months later and it feels totally fine, just my schedule. I think you’ll…

Krav Maga classes 3x/week, running/sprints 1-2/week, lifting 1-2/week (I try for 2, but often fail). Daily dog walks but they’re not all that long.

Missed a couple of workouts due to a family medical emergency this week:( Did have a good sprinting workout with my son on Thursday. He’s devised “punishments” for the loser of each race (e.g. having to roll across our yard, 10 seconds of tickles). Definitely makes things interesting! Will finally get to my Krav class this…

I’m not sure this specifically helps the OP, but I’d recommend the book “The Gift of Fear” by Gavin de Becker to any woman. I found it eye-opening.

2 hour hike today. Been pushing pretty hard this week and thinking tomorrow needs to be a full rest day.
-
Thanks! We had another 37 today in addition to the normal already-really-hard conditioning class (we do “birthday burpees”, so whoever has a birthday, we do as many as their age:)
-
Last night- 60 minute Krav Maga class. The warmup included 70 burpees, ugh. But the rest of the class was pretty technique focused. Today- 60 minute Krav Maga conditioning class in the morning, short hike this afternoon

Are any animal sprays legal there? I don’t think there are bears in Australia, but here in the US I carry a giant can of bear spray. It has a reach of over 20 feet. I’m more worried about bears than people, but I believe the spray would be quite effective against any bad guys. And even though the dog I bring hiking isn’t…

2 miles of various sprints/races, all designed on the fly by my son. One was a traffic light race, involving red (stop), yellow (walk), green (run), blue (squats), and purple (lunges). Great fun, we laughed a lot and were both pretty tired and sweaty by the end!
