Krav Maga stripe test today. This was the most physically challenging one yet. The instructors wear us out with calisthenics before we do the techniques, which make them so much harder. But I passed!

It should be higher than 300. I do Krav Maga and per my FitBit burn 300 calories or so during a 60 minute class. But I’m 5’5, 128 pounds, female.

Rest day, but it was so beautiful out my walk with the dogs was an hour. 70 degrees, blue skies, and not a bit of humidity. Glorious!

60 minute Krav Maga class. My first time sparring. Intense!

0.5 mile walk and dynamic warmup, followed by 1.5 miles of various hill sprints and other races. My son sets the course, and I follow! Great workout and a fun time with my boy:)

1.5 mile morning walk with my son and the dogs. This involved all sorts of variety, such as Simon Says, walking in circles to get dizzy, etc. Everything is more fun with a 9 year old:) Tonight- 60 minute Krav Maga class

Tried my hand at some hill sprints today. My goal is to increase my cardiovascular endurance. This was made a lot more fun by racing with my 9 year old. He beat me every time😊

Not sure if this will help, but my stats were very similar. I’m 41F, and started in February at 145. I planned to lose pretty slowly, as I wanted to maintain muscle mass, and I hate to be hungry:) I generally ate about 1600, sometimes more. I wasn’t too fanatical about it, and the weight loss was slow. But I’m 129 as of…

Finally back to Krav Maga after 12 rest days due to a bad cold and sinus infection. Great to be back and I hung in there!

Start slow! Walking is a great way to start. I’d also recommend a full body lifting program 2-3 times per week. There’s a great thread around about finding the right program. I started with New Rules of Lifting for Women and enjoyed that. As your fitness increases over time, I would also recommend trying out different…

I started Krav Maga just this year at 41. I was intimidated at first but I am so glad I started! I love it. It’s been a mental and physical challenge, and I firmly believe that challenges are good for us. My physical fitness has improved dramatically, and I’m so excited to progress. I really want to work on my mental…

Fair point. I was thinking I’d no longer be contagious, but a little reading on the subject says otherwise. Well, that answers that! Sigh. I really hate missing class, but I guess that’s life.

Thank you!!

I’ll usually walk 1-2 miles even on rest days (usually one rest day per week). My dogs don’t take rest days!

Nothing to report for the past two days, and today will be another forced rest day. I have a nasty summer cold I’m trying to recover from. I really can’t stand being laid up, especially with the beautiful weather. Fingers crossed I’m back to myself tomorrow!

An hour long hike with my son. Short, but quite steep, so it felt like a good workout, and was beautiful and fun.

60 minute Krav Maga stripe test. A bit stressful, but rewarding.

Gorgeous pictures!! Sounds like an amazing experience.

Thanks, I’ll try that. Luckily I don’t do it for the calories, just for fun and fitness. But it does seem weird!

60 minute Krav Maga class. Stripe test later this week so they worked us hard.

It’s the Fitbit estimate of calories burned through specific exercise. It’s hard to tell about the HR graph- lots of ups and downs for the Krav class, as we will go hard for some time, then have a short rest, then go hard again.
