  • You're only contagious if you have a infectious disease. Fever has nothing to do with it. Either that or my 25 years experience as a nurse and two bachelor degrees aren't worth *kitten*.

  • This thread has made my night. Haven't laughed so much in ages and I'm an endoscopy nurse so I hear lots of stories about colonoscopy prep. I have considered Alli but definately won't be touching it now. I had a colleague who was put on Orlistat. Everytime she farted she got one of us to check that it wasn't a shart- an…
  • It should be noted that blood test assays vary from country to country, so posting your blood result numbers is not useful. I had to get used to different ranges when I moved from UK to Ireland because the labs used a different form of testing.
  • Having a fever has nothing to do with being contagious. It is just the body's way of fighting off the virus or bacterial infection. As everyone else says- rest, rest and rest
  • 22.3.17 20 minute walk on the treadmill 3mph speed. I could have gone longer but still nursing a chest infection. No point pushing it and being sicker for longer.
  • I also suffer migraines and chronic headaches that have been uncontrolable for years so I can totally relate to how you are feeling. My migraines are very well controlled at the moment and I think it is because I started to drink 1 or 2 cups of cappuccino (Nescafe sachets) with sugar per day. I drink decaf tea the rest of…
  • Oh, and I forgot to add that thyroid function tests can be affected by just about anything- illness, hot weather, exercise, the list is endless. I have by bloods checked 3-monthly and used to keep a diary which pinpointed what affected my levels. I have kept so many health diaries over the yearsIi'm surprised I'm not…
  • I've been on synthetic thyroxine for over 25 years, since it was first introduced (it came from cows before that). I had to have my thyroid removed due to cancer. I have found that there is very little correlation between what the textbooks and doctors say about thyroid function levels and how people feel in reality. It…
  • [quote="SydniRease;10528842" 2. DRINK 1 GALLON OF WATER A DAY [/quote] I think you made a small mistake, if you drink 1 gallon (8 pints) of water a day you will die from water intoxication where your blood sodium level drops so low that the fluid moves into the cells causing dangerous swelling, especially in the brain.…

  • I've not had a great week as I'm nursing a chest infection so no exercise done since last weekend. I might try the treadmill tomorrow and see how I go.

  • I'm supposed to be running a 10 mile road race on Sunday, unfortunately I have been nursing a chest infection for a few days so won't be running. I will be going to collect my number and t-shirt on Saturday though as my Scottish blood won't allow me to get nothing for my money. The general advice is if the illness is above…
