@Larkspur94 Congrats! Love to see the success of the people here on the Keto board. This is the key victory above all else: "I look great". It's such an amazing feeling to look at the mirror and not hate what you see. I dealt with that for years and finally one day I went wow I actually look good and not a sloppy mess…

Congrats! Going down a pants size (or shirt size) is incredible progress! One day at a time until you hit the goal. I was 286 early this year and I'm exiting 2018 around 230lb's. Wouldn't change anything I did and the best part about it is I don't feel like I sacrificed anything and gained so much with the WOE. The slow…

Had one today when I took the most intense hot power yoga class the studio I go to offers and got all the way through it without stopping (non stop keto fat burning energy?). Noticed the person next to me watching what I was doing a few times when they kept taking breaks and my fat brain was thinking "oh great someone…

Another way to approach this is over a 7 day period. Some days I'm just not hungry and I'm just not going to stuff food down just to hit my calorie number for the day. 2 days later when I'm sitting at the bar downing some wings I'm not going to stress over the number of calories as its going to balance out regardless. I…

@zanyterp @CentaurusSoter Congrats! Just keep at it. It is so worth it when the day arrives and you enter maintenance in fat adapted mode. I've made it all the way back up to 125 total carbs a day with no weight gain when combined with calorie controls (2600) and exercise (running/crossfit/yoga). Weight has been stable at…

This is how I have mine set up. Don't think the mobile versions will work with the script that is out there. It's just quick math with each meal to subtract out the fiber.

I always cook a week worth of chicken on Sundays that will cover my lunch. I'm a boring eater so will buy out all the cauliflower rice at Walmart since those are easy to heat up. The key is I do all my food prep from the evening before so it is grab and go for breakfast/lunch without losing that time. Workouts at home…

I've had major success with a Protein focused Keto plan to eliminate blood sugar issues and am off of all pills and dropped a lot of weight with it. The first few days is nothing but water weight for some folks and should be ignored regardless because that can come and go. Personally, I never had the water weight drop but…

Just going to drop this here. The trolling of these type of gyms over their "lunk alarm" is at least good for a laugh. I personally won't use a place like that but if a person is a step healthier in their life by spending time there that is a good thing. I just don't get the whole Pizza deal.…

A quick way to get around the belt problem: Get a nail and hammer and create more holes. In the states if you have a Dilliards outlet store near you that place is huge and packed with good go between clothes on the cheap. I always have to buy Tall sizes and it has a huge selection even in my new Large Tall size.

I always raise an eyebrow when the CDC gets involved so staying away from romaine a little longer on my end. Spinach is a good alternate. I eat bags of the stuff a month and haven't had an issue yet.

@zanyterp I usually buy the frozen steam in bag types for meal prep. Walmart/Walmart Neighborhood Grocery has these for a $1 which is great price wise. The riced versions are nice for a change up but they can run $2.50 to $3.50 a small bag which gets pricey. It's probably the only vegetable that I find to taste better…

I'm almost exclusively on a Protein focused Keto since the beginning because of my workout routine. The fat based one was not working for me. Once I switched the focus to protein my weight loss took off and muscle building started. Do you track food or not? Yes. I try to hit 225 grams of protein each day which is pretty…

Welcome. Grill/Bake Chicken ahead of time for the week or use ground chicken. Buy the $1 bags of cauliflower from Walmart. 3 cups of shredded lettuce and ranch Mix it all together with a little butter for a $3.00-$3.50 lunch.

Finally got around to accepting that nothing fits anymore after my jeans almost fell off of me at the theme parks over the weekend. Went through the closet and this was all that was left. Two big bags of donations created: A NSV sure but this is going to be expensive! As much as I hate Black Friday I'm actually grateful…

The only true way I know of is to take an RMR test at a Dexafit type facility. Nothing painful: You lay on a chair and breath into a mask for 17 minutes and it analyzes your breath to give you 1. Calories burned at rest 2. Resting heart rate and 3. Your fat burn/sugar burn %. However, if you have stuck to strict keto for…

Don't waste your money on supplements or things like Keto urine strips. Found that they didn't do a thing for me. I'd stick to putting the money into things like quality meats and low carb foods like cauliflower. Just my opinion.

Will have to check those chips out. Thanks for mentioning them. If you did 17 miles you were likely ok especially if it was around the meals. Carbs are like instant fuel so as long as you are quickly using them all good. The last two days I've had family in town and eating higher on the carbs end at times having to eat out…

Thanks for posting. The one on diabetes reversal was interesting and fell right in line with how I used Keto/Low carb high protein to get totally off the pills.

You have to find a purpose for doing this as an initial motivator. Why are you wanting to change and is it worth doing more than eating McDonalds etc. Start there. If you have to go through the fast food place tell them you want your burger extra protein style. You will get your sandwich with lettuce toppers and more meat…

I get most of my chicken/turkey from Sams Club but if you time it right you can stock up on some great priced chicken per pound at Aldi. One of the best bang for the buck protein buys I've found is Sams Club lean ground chicken. There are 11 servings in the container at around $8.00. Mix that with cauliflower rice and some…

@alyssadawnxo To replace the crunch of a chip look into either Flackers or Parmesan Crisp.

You may feel the effects as all that breakdown of sugar hits the blood but that should be over in a few hours. I've just found that for me I have zero desire for the carby stuff any more. If I do take in higher carbs its usually right before a workouts so more like instant fuel. Once you are fat adapted you can take in…

@nvmomketo Great tip! Thank you. It's getting really bad with my clothes as everything is falling off of me but not yet in maintenance mode to spend on new clothes so I may give that a try to hold me over.

@chrisjthomas721 Your body needs protein to protect your lean mass. You really have to tinker with the %'s until you find the perfect spot for you. My perfect spot was 10% carb/45% fat/45% protein.

Thanks. I'm just another person trying to live a healthy life and helping others where I can after having my share of success and failures I've learned from. 2 months is a good baseline to become fat adapted. A lot of telling signs that you can read about here: https://www.ketovale.com/signs-you-are-fat-adapted/ The only…

Everyone is different but by your math you would now be at 15 net carbs for the day which is still under the suggested 20-25 net carbs per day. I'd say you are fine. Try to balance your day for calorie intake so you are never hungry. No need to be restricting calories in an extreme way as that is a guaranteed way to not…

Dumped all my pills in the garbage can after the doctor took me off of them. Now I have to figure out about when to buy clothes as I'm in the la la land area of being between an XLT and LT size.

Look into Flackers. It's helped me pass easier while adapting to keto and give a crunch close enough to a chip/cracker. It's flax seeds and 2 or 3 other clean ingredients. Most of them will have a serving of 100 calories with 8 grams of carbs 7 grams of fiber for a net of 1 carb per serving. Easiest thing to do is reset…

Protein isn't a bad thing and it helps to protect your lean mass. I'm a diabetic that test twice per day and if anything my glucose readings went way down since making protein a priority. I've found long term it helped me to feel more full than fats. I take in around 240 grams of protein a day with my lifting. I'm at 10%…
