I net 1200 calories via diet and exercise (meaning if I burn 600 calories then I eat 1800 to net 1200) and have lost 30 lbs in a little over 3 months. I started at 220. I track all my calories every day and weigh my foods, etc.... Some days are harder than others.

Make sure 1500 is your net... eat back those mile calories! Approx 100 +- calories per mile... so if your training run is 6 miles for the day you would have 600 +- calories on top of your 1500 for 2100 calories... I hurt my back and wore a corset which helped immensely and allowed me to walk my miles.... see if there is a waist cincher or other thing that might provide you some support so that you can exercise. Check with your doctor about it.

The difference between running and walking is that walking there is always one foot on the ground and with running you will have both feet off the ground. You can run at a 15 minute mile and you can walk it.

I eat my calories back and I'm losing weight. Don't be scared. I'm actually more afraid to under eat and have hair loss and other issues. If you aren't losing then check your food entries. Also it would depend on how much you have to lose.
