  • Both posts make a lot of sense. I lost a lot at the very beginning due to decreased carb intake and water weight. For the past 6+weeks I've only been losing about 1-1.5 per week and really my goal is 1 pound per week. I think I needed to hear that my expectations may no longer be realistic though, I often deal with wanting…
  • I've been kind of going through this the past 2 weeks, well I'm still exercising but I've been "cheating" with food. I often eat things and don't log them or I start justifying it's ok to eat x amount of something. I have to be careful with my self talk and sometimes I need to check in with my emotional state before I eat…
  • I still have another 18 pounds to lose to meet my ultimate goal. However I'm very pleased with my progress so far. Posting progress pictures helps me to remember how far I've come instead of focusing on how far I still have to meet my ultimate goal. I also find it extremely inspiring to see others progress pictures. I'm…
  • Feel free to add me. I'm a Physical Therapist, you would think that means I'd be extremely active but my job is rather sedentary (I work in the home health setting). I use to be active with sports, running, hiking etc. but I think I let some of the stress of work get to me over the past couple years. Unfortunately work…
  • Sounds like we're close in stats. I'm 5-4 and my starting weight was 178.6 and my goal is 135 and after about 3.5 months I'm down to 148. I'm getting there and feeling better than ever. Feel free to add me. I log every day and try to post often. I'm currently doing a couch to 5K training 3 days a week and then I use the…
  • Feel free to add me. Although today I've fallen off the wagon I'm pretty good the other 29-30 days of the month. Lol
  • Yay! I'm 3 pounds away from that goal myself! Congratulations to you!
  • Feel free to add me also. I've been logging in for over 3 months now and still have some more weight and fitness goals to achieve. I post often and will also write on friends walls so we can all support each other. I love this community of fit friends helping to keep each other going.
  • Sent a request but anyone else interested in an add go ahead and add me. I consistently log in and post about my weight loss journey. I'm always looking for more people to build a support system.
  • Awesome progress! It also looks like you shaved 10 years off your age. You look so much younger in your more current picture!
  • I would be very careful with eating less than 1200 calories. If you are able to start exercises then that will let you get your calorie deficit you need in a healthier way. Also I would highly recommend trying to increase your protein intake. When trying to lose weight the key to losing fat and not muscle is to consume 1g…
  • I don't have a lot of extra time to spend working out so I have committed to a couch to 5K training routine. I run Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday for around 35 minutes total of run/walk intervals, on the other days I do a 20 minute HIIT workout using my Fitstar app and I try to hit 10,000 steps a day. I take 1 day a week as…

  • I had a fitbit a few years ago but I stopped wearing it when I got pregnant and lost it. When I was getting back on track with eating and exercising this winter I did some research between getting another fitbit or a Garmin. I decided to get a Garmin because it was a built in GPS and I liked the looks of the vivoactive…
  • I've already lost about 23 pounds and I have about another 20 to go. Would love new friends to keep me motivated. Please feel free to add me.
  • Sending you a request. After all we share the same name, even spelled the same way. My high school friends called me Nellie but no one does now. I just go by Janelle
  • I'll send you a request! I'm always looking for new fitpals to keep me motivated on this journey. I have about another 20 pounds to lose so the more support the better.
  • What everyone else has said. Losing weight is about having a calorie deficit, balance eating and burning calories. Burn calories in any way you want to. Make sure you are eating a good balance of protein though so that you burn fat and not muscle. I like exercising so I can eat more and still lose weight. I run, walk, and…
  • Great progress photos! I feel the same way although I have more than 10 pounds I still want to lose. Comparing old pictures to the present really helps me stay motivated.
  • My son is 21 months old but recently I had to pull out some of my maternity clothes and start wearing them again because I had gained to much weight....well last week I finally got to put them away again. I fit back into my pre-pregnancy clothes and they are starting to get loose. As others have mentioned I too have a…

  • I recently started having a mandarin orange and blueberries as my afternoon snack. I used to have a coffee to pick me up in the after noon (loaded with sugar and creamer) . I get so excited about my fruit snack now, I didn't know I liked mandarins so much! Look forward to trying some other fruits and veggies that I've been…
  • Name: Janelle Age: 35 Height: 5'4 Current Weight: 165.3 Challenge Goal Weight: 150 Ultimate Goal Weight: 135 My Motivation: How much better I already feel after losing 11.5 pounds, the energy to play with my 21 month old, a bathing suit and fitting back into my clothes My Plan: healthier low calorie foods, walking and…
  • Hi! I'm looking to lose weight and get back to running and hiking. I'm a mom to a 1.5 year old so I want to get myself back into good health and increase my energy levels for him. I'm currently targeting a 1200 calorie intake and looking for friends to share their food diaries with and motivate each other. Add me if you'd…
  • I have a Garmin watch that counts my steps so I set a daily goal and there is an online weekly step challenge so when my son goes to bed I just start pacing the house with some good music or I run/walk in place while watching my favorite show. It's been keeping me motivated and I'm less apt to eat a snack.
  • Hi ladies. I'm 35 and have only been using MFP for a month. I'm down 10 pounds so far! Yay! Still would like to lose another 20-25. I log and weigh all my food. Please feel free to friend me and we can share our food diary for meal and snack ideas!
  • I'm having trouble joining too. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I click join and ok, but I don't think it let me join. Can I get an invite too? Thank you!
