  • I started at .25 less than a week ago. So far feeling good. As a part of this journey, I’ve cut out alcohol. This has been my primary diet sabotage for my adult life. Im a weekend drinker so all the good work I have done during the week gets canceled out on the weekend with wine and vodka. This past weekend was the first…
  • The starter does for Wegovy (.25) is different from the starter does of Ozempic (0.5) which is the med Reddycap was/is taking and referring to.
  • Yes, I’m just trying to gut check the daily calories. I’ve been on and off MFP for 10 years or more. I’m a habitual starter. But now postmenopausal and despite all that I do for health and fitness I’m still struggling. I swim 50 laps 3x a week, lift serious weights at least once a week. I broke my finger in a fall last…
  • My experience is that drinking on the weekend negates all the hard work and good choices made during the weekday. I’m a 52 year old female and am having a come to Jesus on this very issue. When I a was younger I could drink in my calorie allotment and lose weight. Now it’s really hard and just not losing any weight. I…
  • At 52 my new sport is swimming laps. I developed metatarsalgia about 2 years ago and was getting cortisone shots so that I could walk. Last spring I decided to pivot to swimming (my husband was a competitive swimmer and daughter swims year-round competitive). I got one of those water-proof mp3 players and I’ve been loving…
  • I did this by just setting a timer on my Apple Watch. 3 min run then 1 minute walk alternating. The two timers stay on your watch face and alternate so you always just tap the top one to begin the walk or run. Music on my AirPods. I worked pretty well.
  • Thanks all. Sounds sensible to me. I guess it’s easy to be persuaded by all the articles on the subject of body type and diet. So many rabbit holes to get lost in.
  • Since losing weight and staying healthy is going to be a life thing, I’d work on cutting out a lot of the sugar. There’s hidden sugar in a lot of foods so adding it to oatmeal, milk and coffee is a pile-on. This meal for me would be one cup of oatmeal,, cinnamon, one banana and 1/4 cup of plain yogurt. I get the sugar I…
  • I have to travel about once a month for 3-4 days and it really can (and has) put some pounds on. There’s a lot of great advice here. I follow much of it now — gym every day, mindful eating. But one thing that has been the biggest struggle for me is that when I’m on the road I’m just lonely for my family. At home I’m the…
  • I had to adjust my thinking to long term vs. getting wrapped up in the weekly trip-ups. If I stop tracking over the weekend, oh well, back at it on Monday. MFP being free has been a game changer for me. With WW I would grgg Th so angry at myself for messing up which would turn into a full-0n derailment. With MVP the…
  • I always get ravenous when I have a cold and I think that u I d my body telling me something. So yeah, I would think add more food theyekex you feel better.
  • Totally! Way to go!!! I had the same meeting but mine was Friday Saturday and Sunday are still apart of the week and I have to track. This has taken me years to admit to myself. All my hard work and weight loss was constantly being trashed by not tracking on the weekend.
  • Here is the link https://heelthatpain.com/
  • I’ve had it several times and cured it with an insert called Heel That Pain. It works. Now I wear proper shoes to keep it from coming back. Specifically I live in flip flops at home and worn from hi ole a lot. This is what cause my second bought. Now I wear Olukai flip flops which has the arch support I need.
  • I will keep at it weeks and will tweak my cals a bit. I think 1200 is a bit too aggressive. Also I Know there is a lot that effects the scale. I know what I’m saying doesn’t make sense.
  • Thanks for the reading suggestions
  • This is me for like over 10 years. It’s exhausting, frustrating, and defeating. However, the strength and determination can only come from you. Like PP have said, log every day, everything. It’s the only way. You know it works. You’ve done it before. It’s a life-long commitment.
  • I have doing mfp for several years. I’m a serial starter. I can tell you that for me when I take off the weekend I always gain back what I lose.😫 And I’m not going crazy binging etc. That has never been my problem. I might have 5 or 6 drinks over the weekend and not log in lunch and dinner. I don’t eat junk or fried food.…
  • You look great as you are now. Seriously. Most of us have a LOT more to lose (me), a lot older than you (also me), and a lot more stressful things going on in our lives that got us here (too much to go into). Please just Enjoy your youth and don’t waste your time looking for validation on here.
  • Hormones and cycles will totally add pounds. If you track your weight daily you’ll see that pattern. I’m 48 and premenopausal or maybe going into it and i see it. Like 2 weeks before I would usually start I’ll be about 3 pounds up for like a week or so and then it drops back down and some ( if you stay on track with…
  • Right there with you. But for me it was my 3 year old daughter in a tragic accident. It has been 10 years now. PTSD yes. My coping mechanisms have not been healthy. The people around me think I’m doing great, everything is good. My family is thriving. But insides, I’m wrecked with anxiety and fear for my 3 living children…
  • Hey, you and I have very similar goals and weight. I’m 200 right now and my goal weight is 147. I’m 5’4 and 48 years old. I’ve had 4 kids. It’s hard as hell to stay focus and motivated. I think that’s why I’ve found it to be such a long up and down journey (14 years of being overweight) but I think I might be in the right…
  • Right there with you. 48 and need to lose 56 pounds to be at a “healthy” BMI. It seems impossible but I’ve got to (re)start somewhere. Small goals 💪🏻. Good luck to you, to us all.
  • This is a great idea. Don’t beat yourself up about it. Just do it.
  • Ugh, this is totally me! So many times. When will I ever learn.
  • Logging is my problem too. I’m good for breakfast and lunch but as the day goes on and things get so crazy busy with work and family, it all falls apart and I give up. Part of the challenge for me is that I make most of our meals from scratch. It gets time consuming trying to log in food and portions. But, this app is the…
  • For me it was just not knowing that free apps that are as good or better than WW online even exist. Like the pp, I can't go to meetings and weigh in due to work and young family of five. Online was the best option. I'm so thankful I found MFP.
  • I can't. I really need this app to keep me accountable. Every time I have lost all the weight I gain it back. Maybe if I could maintain for a long stretch of time I could do it without counting calories. But I still need to lose do I won't cross that bridge for quite a while,
  • I was talking about this several weeks ago when I had my own weight watchers revelation. Since my early 30s when I started to gain weight I have been on Weight Watchers about or 4 times. That’s 15 years. The first 2 times it worked for me. I lost all the weight I needed to (20-30 pounds). Four children, the worst life…
