  • Wow, what an amazing difference! Great job on your journey.
  • Congrats! It's life changing. How long has it taken you to go from 184 - 160. That's pretty much the weight I'm starting at 183 and I want to drop down to 140-145.
  • I've lost 6.7 lbs as of today so I'm not feeling it yet. It's probably all water weight. People can usually tell in my face first and then my back, then my waist. Weird.
  • I'm late, but I turn 40 this summer. So at least we have 40 in common. I am logging every day.
  • I turn 40 this summer!!! I'm showing up to my party in a size 8!
  • I'm convinced that food is a drug that I've become addicted to and I love to cook. It's what I absolutely love which makes it so hard for me to drop the weight. But I've been creating recipies using the recipe section of mfp. I can't go crazy adding extra to the meals because that's how those pounds sneak up on me. We all…
  • Keep at it. Stick to the calories and logging, and follow through with exercise. I had a baby and six weeks later was my sister's wedding. I made it happen by staying true to my diet and exercise. Pregnant I was at 186, had my son, used one of those waist band velcro wraps that you can buy at academy, ran between feedings…
  • Add me. I'm trying to lose a lot of weight like 50-60 pounds. We all have to start somewhere and I started on Monday 3/27. I can't afford fancy fitness club memberships, so I bought a treadmill, a weighted fitness bag that I flip outside (like flipping tires), I have a basketball goal and I shoot hoops with my son. Then I…
  • So they say, until you lose a lot of weight and they love you "more". My bf doesn't really watch what he eats and wants to eat out a lot. It's hard but even when we go out to eat it's about portion control or making healthy choices. Anything with cheese is my weakness. Not easy for a Mexican like me. We put queso on…
  • I'm almost 40 - come July. And what I've noticed is that as I age, weight is harder to lose. Not to mention, I was "promoted" to a desk job and that just killed my weight loss process. I set my alarm at work to remind myself to drink water and powerwalk for 6-7 minutes every hour. Please add me and we can walk through this…
  • So it's easier said than done, but you have to train your brain to say enough is enough. I post my meals ahead of time and prep in advance so that I have something to look forward to. It's hard and it takes time to cut things out but over time you will be better. For example: I was putting milk in my oatmeal because "i was…
  • Those are the worst. I'm in a business where photos are always being taken and I try to hide behind people or things if I can catch it.
  • I lost 5.6 lbs this week. Next week I won't lose so many. But pounds lost are pounds lost.
  • Always. Have fruit on hand or some fresh veggies. Ditch the chocolate at work. Especially those people who have candy at their desk. Stay away!!!!
  • Because look at you. You let yourself go. Nobody is going to want you like that. 16 years ago. But, you never forget the words.
  • I'm going to keep from "cheating" on the weekend. I'm either in this 100% or nothing. The weekend is just another day. I'm looking forward to my 40th this July and nothing motivates me more than fitting into a cute dress on my birthday.
  • Mind over matter, baby girl. Cravings are a state of mind and easier said than done. Have healthy snacks on hand when you get those cravings. Drink water and go for a walk. I work in an office so I get up once an hour and walk for 5 minutes. The smallest things make the biggest difference over time.
  • I've tried it all. The best thing is to prep your food and use the app so that you can calculate your calories. I bought a small scale to weigh all of my food. I also store recipes because it's hard to be restrictive when the rest of the family is not. So I cook so that we can all eat and still maintain our calories.
  • Hang in there! It's usually when you lose 15 - 20 lbs that you can feel the difference in dress size. At least for me it is. If I lose more than 30 lbs, I also go down a whole shoe size and my rings fit better.
  • I try to stay between 1000 - 1200. It's been hard not eating and I'm craving sausage patties and eggs in the morning. But, the good ole packet of oatmeal and cinnamon to flavor curbs my appetite.
  • The scale is annoying, but think of it as fractions of a pound lost = many pounds lost over time. Don't give up.
  • Exercise, portion control.
