Man I think it looks amazing. I want one.

Hi. I'm also on a journey! My name is Brian. 39, male, never been into fitness, except for a 9 month period more than ten years ago. 5'11.5". Started at 215, down to 195 or 196 now. My GW is 175, and then re-assess. I've been in a calorie deficit for well over a month. I lift weights (simple full body program), do a little…

I just ate a grass fed burger, and asked for veggies. They brought fries. Asked for veggies, they started saying blah blah. I just said eff it and ate them. Over on fat. Over on calories 100 something.... it's whatever. Tonorrow. I do feel like I ate a bowl full of concrete now. I haven't had fries in 6 weeks or more.
-
Who cares. Just eat right today. Don't sweat it. Don't starve yourself. Just get back on the horse until she bucks ya again.
-
Eat more. Eat like 1700 calories for 2 weeks, monitor weight each day. Do not freak out about weight. Just take your weight every day, and average it out over the two weeks. Tweak after 2 weeks or so if you want.

Ummm, yeah. To lose fat, you must burn more calories than you eat. MFP will automatically give you a calorie count to achieve your goals (you have to fill out the info of course, height, weight, age, male or female, whatever). You just log everything you eat. Weigh out foods. Be as exact as possible. Weigh food. If you eat…

The only other suggestion I have is make sure to weigh food.
-
How did you come up with your calorie needs? You need to be in a deficit. Google "TDEE" (total daily energy expenditure), find a calculator for TDEE. Whatever TDEE is, reduce by 500 calories (but we're not supposed to go below 1200 I think). Then, you should lose 1 lbs per week. This is just a starting point. All people…

My diary open. I try for 40% carbs, 35% protein, 25% fat. I've been in a deficit for 6 weeks, losing 1.5-2lbs a week.
-
Yeah diet like 99%. Weigh food. Maintain deficit. Weight will come off. I know things can be difficult. Life is difficult. Being a mother is like 3 full time jobs. You got this though! Get the diet sorted out, give it time. Don't get down about it, and don't sweat the small stuff. It's not gonna be easy, but once you get a…

Thanks guys! Yeah we did chest/triceps. Did some abs as well. It was a good workout. Feel pretty pumped up ATM. I dunno if I am gonna switch to split workouts or stay on full body. I might fmgi with the dude tomorrow for leg day, we'll see....

First, don't track weight every day and freak out. Track it for 1-2 weeks, and look at the average. Even a month would be better. Just take weight same time of day, each day, type the number in like a brainless zombie. Don't think about the number. Just keep putting it in there, and use the data after you have a sufficient…

Hi! I'm Brian. I have a job where I sit all day. I've never cared about my diet my entire life. I just ate whatever I liked. I worked out for about 6 months back in 2003/2004. I didn't monitor my diet then. Just worked out, ran, etc. I was around 175-180 then. Increased my strength quite a bit (couldn't lift anything, with…

Man, you've come a long way!
-
It's whatever. Don't worry about it. Just keep moving forward. It's already history. Just focus on making good choices as often as you can. You aren't going to gain weight from one bad meal/evening. :)
-
Unfortunately, there is no easy solution. However, there is one way to think about it..... Only you can decide to change your life. If you do make the decision, it can be easier to stick to than you think. You have the power to do what you want. You can accomplish pretty much whatever you decide to do (within reason, obv).…

Well, get motivated! I dunno what your goals are, but how bad do you want to achieve them? Go after what you want. Get it.
-
Thanks.
-
What do you guys mean? I thought I was doing full body routine? I listed exercises above.... 9 in all... What do you recommend? 5x5 routine?
-
Just ask yourself how bad do you want to reach your goals. It's all up to you. It's within your reach. The more things that you do correctly, the more momentum you will gain to keep going at it. How bad do you want to reach your goals? Just do what needs to be done. I think if you were to stay on track in your Fitness and…

YouTube. There are literally millions of videos about this subject. Yoga is also pretty easy to do at home.

It does take time, alot of time. I believe I started this program with the correct mindset though. I basically knew that I needed to change my lifestyle. I was somewhat prepared for the length of time it would take. However, I think I was a little bit optimistic at first.
-
This is only a suggestion, and I'm not a trainer. However, Google 5x5 strong lifts. Dead lifts and squats I think will be important to achieve your goal? Just food for thought. Diet, lift heavy weights. 5x5 program is only 5 exercises. It's time efficient, but I haven't done it. I have read about it and seen lots of you…
-
It does help. Thank you! I have been thinking about switching routine, but I'm unsure if I should wait until I reach my goal weight? I'm essentially doing like a 6 month cut probably, or more.....
-
Thanks for this! It's all very helpful and motivating! I have been adding weight here and there. Maybe once a week. The overhead press with dumbbells is my absolute worst in terms of ability. I have made very little progress in that one. Form is pretty tough, as I want to arch my back when the reps are getting really…
-
Oh yeah squats I've been doing 3 sets of 8. They are a nasty tough exercise.
-
I do 9 exercises. I got it from some website. I will list them... I shoot for 10 reps 3x in each exercise, except crunches, and when I add weight I start at 6 or 7 reps, and then increase reps gradually. So I warm up by walking on 7 or 8% incline on treadmill, 3.0 MPH, for 5 mins. 1. Bench press, started with dumbbells,…

Yeah, great information from JeromeBarry. Weighing everything is a must. There are many places you can go online to get your BMR (basal metabolic rate), TDEE (total daily energy expenditure). Do a Google search for TDEE, use a calculator, and determine how many calories you need to be at per day. It will take a while to…

What's up Casey! I just started as well about 5 weeks ago or so. I lost like 15 lbs maybe? It takes a while. What you eat seems to be the most important factor. There are literally millions of vids on YouTube from people like us who transformed their bodies. I watch them often for motivation and information. Anyway, I'm…

Good stuff, Captain Obvious. Welcome. Good luck with your goals OP!
