@glassofroses haha nice. I definitely relate to not letting anyone rush you. It just makes things unnecessarily stressful. Wow! Congratulations on your weight loss and especially on your fitness! Minus the injury we could be twins. For me it was constant migraines that kept me from working out. After I'd been eating WFPB…

Haha are you joking? :D Avocados are whole foods. I'm talking about concentrated forms of fat and sugar, that have been extracted from their whole food sources, making them unsatisfying and less rich in nutrients. As for baked goods, no I don't cut them out entirely. There are plenty of recipes for baked goods that don't…

Everyone else hit most of the points I wanted to make. So just 1 more thing...if you are PMSing or on your period, you could be retaining water. Weigh yourself when your period is over.

Wow! I bet the endorphin high was awesome. Hahaha, sounds like a good way to save money! :D

I just tried it for the first time. Went for chocolate. Not disappointed.

That's so cool! I'm terrified of embarrassing myself doing exercise that isn't my usual cardio + very basic strength training, so I admire people who face that fear and do it anyway. :) It's a great feeling, isn't it?? Congratulations!

I should have been more specific. I do check the whole label for suspect variations. But the quickest thing that stands out is usually the sugar count.

Personally I'm not concerned much about fat as long as it's coming from a whole food source like nuts. I avoid foods with added fat and sugar, and this has helped me a lot. The ingredients list is your friend.

Definitely agree that strength training is important if you love your curves. Muscle definition helps to accentuate and lift them. :) But yes, your shape is defined by genetics and you will not have control over where you lose fat. Congrats on a great start!

Congratulations on your progress! Putting on the smaller clothes every day really is a great reward, isn't it? :)

This is so true. I avoid being in photos so much but I really wish I had progress pics.

When you have a bad diet day (and you will-- we all do) be careful how you respond to it. The worst thing is you can say, "I failed, I am a failure, and if I can't burn off all these extra calories I might as well give up." The best thing you can say is, "That was just a part of my journey where I wasn't making as much…

I used to work in a kitchen, and I gained 10 lbs in 3 months because I didn't know how to resist the food my coworkers would make me for break times. :/ Retraining yourself to have less of a taste for sweets is possible. I totally avoided added sugar for months, then added it back for a few treats I enjoy, and find that…

I usually buy something that I've had my eye on, like a slightly pricey tea or kombucha, or hiking equipment for bigger hurdles. :) For me, it's hard to start seeing a fit person in the mirror, even though I am now objectively fit. So having a physical thing to affirm my achievement helps keep me from becoming discouraged.…

Nixing added sugar from foods that aren't dessert, with very few exceptions. That means if a food lists any kind of concentrated sugar source as an ingredient, and I don't consider it a treat food, I don't buy it. It's just not worth the blood sugar crash.

I love reading other people's diaries, but I only let friends see mine.

I'm very close to my goal weight and now my focus is overall health and fitness. Anyone can feel free to add me. :)

Anyone can feel free to add me! @hilarygill45, click on the person's username, then click their username again on the pop-up to go to their profile. There is a button to ask the person to be your friend.

Try out some new clothes for your new shape. A lot of clothes look great on smaller boobs and terrible on bigger ones. Someone also mentioned strengthening your pecs, which I agree with. My boobs always look better when I've been sticking to my upper body strengthening exercises.

I check the nutrition facts to see if the reduced fat has more sugar than the regular. If it does, I'm buying the regular, no questions asked. I'll save added sugar for my desserts, thanks. Don't need that crap in my meals.
-
Yesss! I think they can tell when we've had a confidence boost and they want to keep it rolling. :D

I confess to being a feeder. I cook entire meals and huge desserts with no intention of eating much. Then I force my loved ones to eat until they are stuffed. This is how I got the nickname "Grandma" even though I'm 24.

The Big Short. Finally got around to watching it.

Cooking and baking. Must be pure coincidence that so many of us list that as a talent and we're now all...having to lose weight...hmm.

I chose 130 lbs totally irrationally. It's the lowest I can be at my height and still be considered healthy on the BMI scale. I've struggled for years with a starve/binge cycle, so my compromise was to lose as much weight as possible without becoming "unhealthy." But now that I'm so close to my goal and still unhappy with…

Hello everyone! I'm very close to maintenance, but I'm back on MFP after a long hiatus. I've seen a couple of other tall girls on here but I'm not sure if they're still looking for new buddies. :) Anyone can friend me if they like. Height: 5'10" HW: 165 LW: 129 CW: 133-ish BF: 24.9% GW: 130 Something tells me losing 3 lbs…

I have this same problem. Definitely try to do these exercises on the floor, as the bed really is not firm enough. Look up good stretches for the back, and do the stretches often. Work on strengthening your core as well. Many back stretches and core exercises can be done lying down, so just google around and see what works…

One thing that I've been making for years and is always a hit: 1. Lightly oil a casserole dish. Line the bottom with a layer of sliced onions and a layer of sliced tomatoes. Sprinkle with garlic and basil or cilantro. 2. Layer chicken pieces on top (I usually use thighs, but breasts work as well.) season with salt, pepper,…

I grew up eating everything. My parents have always been big on dining out, and my stepfather is Vietnamese, so we were always out at Asian restaurants, and brought a lot of snacks home from Asian markets. There was tex-mex food and regular fast food occasionally. Family dinners at home usually involved grilled meat and…
