  • After a very tough weekend, the last two days have been going well again. I wasn't feeling 100% from Friday - Sunday and couldn't really get myself to log my food intake. Luckily, the scale didn't show a gain, so that's good enough for me. A little bit about myself: I'm Dutch, living in Denmark, but I've also lived in the…

  • Saturday success. For the first time ever (since I got my fitbit in March) I walked 15,000 steps today, equalling 11 kilometers. I'll probably be sore tomorrow, but I'm quite proud of myself.
  • I have to say, I love how flexible MFP is in logging meals. I'm working with a dietician and she created a food plan for me with 6 meals per day: breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner and evening snack. I've just noticed that by logging on the MFP on my computer, I can change the standard snack meal and…
  • @MermaidPrincessRach: I know it's probably too optimistic, but I hope that because I have so much overweight, that it wil go a bit faster in the beginning. I've been working with a dietician the lady two weeks and have lost 6.4 pounds so far.

  • All's going well here. Start Week 1 @ 278.2 Start Week 2 @ 274.2 Total loss of 4 lbs in week 1 (goal 10 lbs in 6 weeks) I've also managed to walk at least 10,000 steps on 4 days (goal was 2), so everything is going better than I hoped.

  • First day today of our August challenge. As I'm doing the squats only, I've decided to do 10 squats every time I go to the bathroom. The first 10 are already done, 20 more to go today ;)
  • I'm in too with the squats. Just a quick question, though, do you have to do the squats in one session or do you just have to reach the total number of squats by the end of the day?
  • Totally agree. I'm at a 6 day streak, but so far everything seems to be going really well.

  • Long day today. Started work at 7am and wasn't finished until 4.30pm. Currently just under 4,500 steps, but on the other hand, I've only eaten 1,672 cals. So definitely more than a 500 cal deficit today :)

  • Thnx for the explanation. So, I guess I'm a twolander, hoping to become a onederland ;)
  • Hi, can someone explain the terms "Onederland" and "Twolander" to me ;)
  • Originally from the Netherlands, but live in Denmark now
  • So far, this week is going very good. I've already reached my goal of 10,000 steps on two days and the 3rd day, I reached 7,100 steps. I've also managed to eat less than I burn :) I have my own company and 2 days a week, I work at the office of a client, so that means it's more difficult to reach my 10,000 steps on those…

  • @Nikion901 - Thnx for explaining the challenge and a bit about the background of this thread. I totally agree that it's better to get support from like-minded people and those who are or have been in the same situation. That's also why I joined this thread. I will post my start info for the challenge and then the first…
  • I see a lot of posts referring to a summer heat challenge. What is this challenge and is it possible to join?
  • @lydiapassthedonuts Oh how I envy you. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2011 and the first few years it was under control. However, since 2014 it suddenly went totally wrong and it's still not under control. Now last month I also found out that I have a huge B12 vitamin deficiency. Apparently my body does not absorb…
  • I focus mostly on eating fewer cals than I burn. I don't want to cut out all the bad foods completely, because I consider this more to be a lifestyle change than a full blown diet. I know I won't be able to stick with it, if I cut out all the things I like, so instead of avoiding them I am working on portion control. As…

  • Had a very good day yesterday. Ate 1281 cals less than I burned. My goal is to eat 500 cals less than I burn, but went for a long walk yesterday and burned a lot more cals than I usually do and couldn't eat anymore.
  • First day is going great so far. Had a long walk and reached 10,000 steps and it's only 4pm ;)

  • Hi, my name is Irene. I've struggled with my weight for many years and it's gotten to the point where I really need to so something. My goal for this 6-week challenge is to reach 10,000 steps at least twice a week and if I can lose 10 lbs at the same time, that would be great. Starting weight - 278 lbs (126.2 kg)

  • Love to join this challenge. Will aim high with 10 lbs in 6 weeks and 10,000 steps at least twice a week.
  • Hi everyone, I started yesterday and have about 115 lbs to go, so I'm in, too :)

  • @MermaidPrincessRach: thnx. I've started today by entering my food again in MFP. Not yet measuring everything yet, but I gotta start somewhere ;) Apparently half of my first post disappeared. Wanted to know if there are others in this thread that have hypothyroidism.
