Measuring cups are not always accurate. I would suggest you weigh everything on a food scale and stop using cups. You can also check this by taking one cup of rice and measure how much that is in grams on you're food scale. A cup should be 40 grams, but this is not always the case.

I also have hypothyroidism, but have managed to lose 16 kg since Sept. 6th. I don't know about your macros, but I learned that a low carb diet doesn't work for people with hypothyroidism. We need our carbs. I tried a low carb diet at the beginning of the year and gained 1.5 kg in a week. Now I'm eating my carbs AND losing…

Wow, so many posts. I'm having a bit of trouble catching up after a busy weekend. Anyway, I had a terrific day in terms of exercise. I'm at 13,000 steps and already burned a total of 3,000 calories (according to my fitbit) and it's only 5.15pm. Here comes my dilemma: I've only eaten 821 calories until now, and I'm totally…

Looking forward to joining the challenge

I've had my Charge 2 since March of this year, but would love some friends for extra motivation. www.fitbit.com/user/5K335B

What is DASH Day? Also does anyone know how accurate the calorie adjustment is when MFP is connected with Fitbit? I seem to get quite a lot of extra calories (between 700 and 1100 per day) depending on how much I walk. However, I have no idea if this is realistic. I should say though that I have manually entered my calorie…

Just went for a 46-minute walk with my husband. We reached this castle after 22 minutes:

Definitely sounds like a good idea. I will do the same after I complete my diary tonight. I'm visiting my parents in Malta in 5 weeks, so would definitely be interesting to see how accurate it is.

I'm currently working with a dietician and she created a food plan based on 1700-1800 cals. When I noticed that MFP was making a calorie adjustment based on my daily activity, I asked her if I should be eating these extra calories either in part or all. She told me that I didn't need to eat those calories, but if I felt I…

@jennydelgado09: The question I have for you is: are you thinking of eating the calories that you earn through exercise? I, myself, don't eat the calories that I burn, so although it's nice to see the calorie adjustment, I don't do anything with them and therefore it doesn't really matter if it's accurate or not ;)

Question: it is said that we should drink at least 2 litres/8 glasses of water each day. How much water do you all drink and is it just water or do you also drink 0 cals sodas/ tea/ coffee to reach your water goal?

My daily goal is 1700 cals, and as the others said it doesn't make a difference for weight loss how you divide those cals. However my dietician has made a food plan for me with the following division: 300 for breakfast, 100 for morning snack, 400 for lunch, 200 for afternoon snack, 500 for dinner, and 200 for evening…

To keep with the trend, here's a picture I took during my walk today :)

@bapcarrier: Happy Birthday and enjoy the day!

On Tuesday, I wrote that my goal for this week was to walk at least 10,000 steps per day for an entire week. And today I reached my goal! I have never before walked so much in 1 week. Go me!! ;) Now I just need to continue this trend.

Tuesday goals: so the last 4 days, I managed to walk more than 10,000 steps each day. I've never managed that before, so my goal is to walk more than 10,000 steps each day at least for the rest of the week, but hopefully I can make that a new habit. :) @keke48: welcome @bapcarrier: beautiful pic of the evening sky…

I just got another incentive to do well in this Fall Challenge. I'm going to Malta on the 25th of November to visit my parents. I haven't seen them since last year August, so really looking forward to it. Plus it will be a bit warmer in Malta at the end of November than here in Denmark ;) B)

Saturday success: despite it being a day of nonstop rain, I made myself go out and walk for 30 minutes. Normally, I would just curl up on the couch and binge watch some series, but not today. Yeah me!! ;)
-
@happygirlxxx: good to hear that you're feeling better today and great job on the exercise! Friday Fitness: just completed a 1-hour walk, a total of 5 km and I burned 671 cals. Not quite sure how accurate the calories are, but not really planning on eating them anyway, so I guess it doesn't really matter ;)

@Nikion901: I can't see it in the app either, but sometimes I log in on the MFP website and that's where the calculator is.

With my weight loss this week, I finally moved from Obese Class III to Obese Class II. Of course still way too high, but at least it's nice to see progress. Question: how many of you actually eat all or some of the calories that you burn through exercise?

OK, so I get the whole CICO thing, but how accurate is the Fitbit in calculating calories burned? I have linked MFP to Fitbit, so my Fitbit app shows exactly how much deficit I have. However, I'm not really sure how trustworthy this calculation is. Any ideas?
