  • Well guys, I passed my LSW exam yesterday. What a load off my shoulders. And this morning I am 3.5 lbs lighter than I was last week, at 195 bs. Feeling more and more confident that I will meet this group's challenge of an 11 lbs loss by June. :) I hope everyone well is doing well too and if you need words of encouragement…
  • Tomorrow is Weigh in Wednesday! I had just an okay weekend calorie intake wise, so I am really curious to see how that affects my loss. Still hoping for a two lbs loss. Additionally, I am taking my social worker license exam this morning. So nervous. Going to eat a healthy breakfast, and include a portion of peanuts in my…
  • Hello, the first thing I want to say is that you have lost weight, which means you are absolutely heading in the right direction. Google a visual aid for what a single pound of fat looks like -- it's actually quite a lot of material, and you should be proud! The second thing I would say as others have already pointed out…
  • Hello everyone, I had Weigh-In Wednesday this morning and I lost 3.5 lbs, bringing my current weight to roughly 198.5 lbs. It was really wonderful to see that number and it gives me hope that I can reach the full 11 lbs loss by June. cheers!
  • Love it! The closer you get to your goal weight, the more challenging and slow-going it is to lose. But that is a very solid loss. I am weighing in on Wednesday. :) Good job 5n00py!!
  • Very cool. My dad is an airline pilot and basically has the same issue you do -- it's so hard to "eat clean" when you're living out of a bag. however, he has been having a lot of success maintaining significant weight loss by packing healthy dried snacks on his trips
  • I've never tried anything like this, but for me, using MFP and trying to keep a log of my eating and exercise is a huge leap in the right direction. I feel like I want to do some light journaling too to keep motivated. Documentation is so important for motivation. I love your chart!
  • In my opinion most of the world is not vegan friendly, LOL. I often find myself eating French fries under very similar circumstances that you describe here. I have always found it helpful to eat a full meal right before an event so I am not hungry during times when there is nothing vegan available. I do think you're right…
  • Thanks for the encouragement, 5n00py. I was a little concerned about how today would go since I went out for dinner, but if My Fitness Pal data is to be trusted, I still met my net calorie goal thanks to an hour of walking. I had 1/2 of an order of PF Chang's Buddha's Feast stir-fried, no rice, and maybe a quarter of the…
  • One day at a time, folks! I have been doing well. Exercising about 5 hours a week the past two weeks and definitely eating better! I look forward to my weigh-in on Wednesday. I will update you all about the results (I am hoping for a 2 lbs loss but 1 is fine too!)
  • Hi Sunflower, you may want to confer with a dietician, personal trainer, family doctor, etc. in order to determine what's best for you given your fitness goals. My concern is that your current calorie intake isn't sustainable from a long-term perspective.
  • Hi all, I am currently 202lbs - 29 year old woman, for the record, vegan for 9 years or so. Hoping to lose 25 lbs this year and from there who knows :) I definitely feel we can all manage the goal of this group by the summer deadline. Best of luck!
