  • I used to just write it down because I seriously would go whole hog when the old hormones did their thing. My hunger problem usually hits 2 weeks before Charlie arrives and stays for about 3 days after. That was what I noticed just from making a little chart and marking it. An app would probably make it easier to do though.
  • I am all about a good cake donut. I prefer it without the glaze. I especially love Munchkins (or donut holes if you are not familiar with Munchkins). And do not get me started on Entenmann's big softees. My problem is I cannot eat them in reasonable amounts. If I eat one I will eat them all. I do my best to avoid them…
  • At any rate, I was just pointing out the typical nature of the forums.
  • I can see that. However I tend to think debate should be left in the debate forum once it gets really hot. I don't know how much is ever really learned from such, because I tend to skip over as much as possible because it gets to be beating a dead horse at times.
  • After that last response I recall. I think I wanted info on the specific parts. say, the breast and thighs I'm thinking. I wasn't getting exactly what I was searching for.I will add, I am one of those people who likes for everything to be just-so or I can't sleep at night. If I suspect I am off on an entry by a single…
  • I have a crazy long list of vegetable which I have used their info for. I can't recall why their info for meat wasn't jiving with me. I remember looking it up there and not being satisfied. But for the life of me I can't recall why... Has this site been changed at all in recent memory? That you can tell?.
  • I find it useful because I do a lot with chicken. I may roast a pan of chicken legs, or I may roast a whole chicken. I roast it more than anything else. However I have found that it is not always easy to find info for cooked chicken. Raw nutrition info is usually listed on a package. I don't always weigh raw chicken. Or…
  • The woo is a mystery! I think I was wooed for spite. Which I actually enjoy! LOL!
  • You talkin' to me? Just in case you are, I did not point fingers at any side. I was referring to the general "innocent looking thread gets turned into a hot debate". Just to be clear. If you aren't referencing me then please disregard.
  • True nature as in inner thread conflict. You know. The usual! Getting derailed!
  • Is this "woo" as in "WHOO HOO! :D " or "Woo" as In, "She is posting unproven quackery! :/ " One should not assume. Asking for a friend! ;)
  • Wow. The true nature of MFP strikes again. I shouldn't be surprised. I hope the OP was able to get what ever was needed before all the trouble started.
  • You went there searching for baked potatoes in relation to diabetes? Where did I say that that specific info could be found there? I said, "The best place to get INFORMATION." As in, this is a place where information can be found. I did NOT say, " this is the place to find out if potatoes cause diabetes. " The OP said,…
  • The best place to get this information (aside from your medical doctor whom you trust) is the American Diabetes Association. Assuming of course they aren't "full of woo" as it were. diabetes.org/are-you-at-risk/diabetes-risk-test/
  • I have been over at the site for this diet reading up on the program. I wouldn't follow it because I just don't follow diets in general so much as I try to implement a healthy diet. Lately I haven't been doing so well at that. But I digress. This 800 calories a day aspect is a temporary part of the diet. I have heard of…
  • Exactly. I was careful to stick to what I actually meant here. I also made a point to say that I have not read the book or heard of the specific diet mentioned so as to avoid anyone thinking I was supporting said diet. I support people doing what they need to do for their health. I would never promote a diet or product…
  • Remember the "Get Rid Of The Woo Button" thread that got shut down? This is one reason so many are opposed. There is either (still) confusion about what it actually means because of the double meaning behind it, or people are using it maliciously.
  • You are going on up there about CALORIES for one thing which I do not need to entertain because I never mentioned THAT. Second you said " we try to discourage people from things that aren't working, things that distroy [sic] their health." What part of lowering carbs and sugar is going to destroy a person's health? I spoke…
  • Lowering carbs and sugar is NOT damaging to your health. Bring me some proof that it is damaging to lower carbs and sugar and I will then change my view.
  • People say there is no reason to worry about sugar if you're not diabetic. These are people who obviously do not understand that for many people sugar and carbs do pose a problem in many ways. The difference in my general physical and mental energy levels, my digestive issues, sleep problems, appetite, and weight loss is…
  • I see your warm chocolate chip cookie, and raise you smearing it with peanut butter or melting a marshmallow in between two.
  • Hmmm.... I don't recall if I liked those or not. I only ever bought them once and only got one out of the pack before the family ate them all. Note to self: try them again!
  • EXERCISE! Trick-or-treating with the kids in our very hilly area!
  • I think these places maybe have a "no excessive perfume/cologne" rule, and that reasonable fragrance is allowed? I could be wrong.
  • I absolutely gag on people's cologne and perfume. Nothing wrong with a subtle scent, but the strong stuff actually hits me in the mouth, the throat and the eyes. I am going to say that people should simply just know better. No one should go out among people smelling like a fragrance counter. IN the gym where all that sweat…
  • For me, the more carbs I eat the more I want to eat. So really it's just a matter of getting some lower carb/sugar foods in place where you can grab them when you need something in a stressful moment. I love carrots because they have a hint of sweet, apples, yogurt, trail mix, etc... are all good choices too. Sugar is…
  • Excellent! Cutting carbs was one of the best things I ever did. When my carbs are up I don't lose weight and my appetite goes off the charts. As difficult as it can be to resist, the benefits are worth the effort for sure! Keep up the great work!
  • I guess it depends upon what that 1,200 consists of. It would leave little room for high calorie foods. You would be eating greens and protein basically, with room for some other fruits and vegetables, and moderate amounts of fat. Not everyone wants to limit their options to this end. Or it would mean having that high…
  • I can understand that. Lord knows I have seen enough similar attitudes from people. Be it wreckless weightloss or other self destruction. The deaf will never hear.
  • If someone seems to be doing something harmful I will speak up. For example, certain fat burners, or "supplements" and the like, starving themselves or getting physical activity in a way that could lead to injury or illness. Otherwise I stick to the "don't start nothin' won't be nothin" rule. If I absolutely cannot bear to…
