If you weren't drinking a lot of water before, some of it could be from that. Dehydration makes you weigh less but it's not the same as fat loss.

Sounds like you're dating an *kitten*.

I did notice that when I switched to a digital scale, it weighs heavier. I'm not sure which is more accurate.
-
I'm not sure I believe it does anything metabolically, it's just easier for me not to eat early on because I'm not much of a breakfast person anyway, and I prefer to have most of my calories for dinner so it helps me keep my intake lower.
-
The only real way to get rid of it is lose weight overall... and unfortunately from what I've heard, lower abdominal fat is often the most stubborn/last to go. It's frustrating. I'm a fan of partially clothed sex when I don't feel super confident.

When I was a young teen I used to mash white sugar into a piece of white bread like it was butter.

I don't know if you're into coffee, but it's a great temporary appetite suppressant, more so than tea in my experience. I use it as a dietary aid all the time and don't feel hungry at all for a couple hours after even if I was starving before.
-
I find it really annoying when I mention anything I'm experimenting with in diet/fitness to anyone who has ever had an opinion on the subject because 95% of the time that person believes their way is the ONLY way and wants to lecture me about why I'm doing it "wrong".
-
I guess they're entitled to their input but ultimately it's your body and your choice what you feel comfortable doing with it.

I find the easiest way is just to not eat when I'm out and about, at work, or otherwise busy. It's easier not to during those times and then you get used to and more comfortable with the feeling of hunger, and over time your appetite shrinks and you don't feel as constantly hungry.

I guzzle coffee especially if I'm on a work shift and I like a ton of half and half so it can end up tacking on a few hundred calories. I've been trying to let myself have 1-2 good coffees to get the day started and replace the rest of them with tea (which I don't like nearly as much :-/). I may look into those supplements…

Trying. It's up and down. I originally gained weight almost solely from drinking, but the last handful of times I went overboard, I ended up losing some weight. The unhealthy kind of starvation weight because I couldn't eat anything for a few days after a drinking binge.

Usually.... I just say fk it and go over. I'm not the best person to give advice here because my weight loss is super slow. Soup is a good low calorie option though, I'll occasionally have that. Or just try to under-eat the next day if I go over. Or I might drink coffee to suppress my appetite.

Good call. I'm a heavy drinker but haven't had any so far in November. I'll see if I make it to the end of the month or not.
-
I've been gradually transitioning to tea and having just 1 coffee a day. If you do it slowly it's not so bad. I used to drink probably 60-75 oz of coffee on days I worked.

I find that when I make it known I'm on some kind of diet or eating pattern, a bunch of *kitten* come out of the woodwork to tell me why I'm doing it wrong and why I should listen to them because they're the oracle of wisdom when it comes to fitness and nutrition. Diet seems to be a really incendiary topic for some people.…

Personally I tend to go down a size when I drop about 8-10 lbs. I'm not short, either. 20 is quite a bit of weight.
-
Of the 17-20ish lbs I've lost by this point, the first 10 took me an entire year. THAT is abnormal. You're doing fine. Sometimes people plateau for a little while.

High - 170 Current - 150 Goal - 130 I'm around 5'7/5'8.

I'm not a purist in anything but I do try to incorporate elements of the Mediterranean diet. It's supposed to be one of the healthiest diets in the world (that & Japanese). Kind of similar to paleo but with a little more give.

None of my boyfriends have supported my efforts to slim down in the past few years. All of them are like "shhhhh, you're fine" and keep urging us to do the same calorie-packed activities like always (restaurants, drinking, etc). My long-term ex who I lived with was obsessed with going out to eat even when we had tons of…

I think diet is more important. This past spring I was working out 4-5 days a week, 45 or 50 minute workouts, should have put me at a solid caloric deficit and I didn't lose a single pound. I gave up on the gym and have been intermittent fasting with minimal exercise since late summer because my schedule got busier, and…

I don't think it's too low, unless you have a larger bone structure/frame. I'm 5'8 and my goal is to get back to my old weight, 130, I was slim at 130 but definitely didn't look underweight or scrawny.

Kale and quinoa.

I love those markings ^^

I've had success with IF in the past. I'm trying to get back on track with it now. I don't follow an eating window, I just drink coffee/water all day and then eat dinner as my only meal. The busier I am with my life the easier it is for me to stick to it, if I don't have a lot going on I'll tend to obsess more over hunger.…

Depends on how much weight you're trying to lose. I have to be careful with nuts because I find them kind of addictive and I'm only trying to lose about 15-20 lbs, but if you're heavier and trying to lose a lot then they probably won't sabotage your diet.

Whenever I go out drinking, I initially wake up the same weight or lighter, and then through the day as I drink water it gets retained. Plus alcohol dehydrates you, which also means you could wake up lighter before you replenish what you lost. So I think the damage from a night out takes a day or so to show up.
-
I find the whole idea of meal prep sort of unappealing (I'm not big on leftovers) but I do usually plan my dinners one day in advance. If I'm having something like salad that involves a lot of ingredients I'll chop up some of the non-wilting vegetables that morning or the night before because I know if I get home after a…

Yep. I'm already a healthy normal weight, I'm just trying to get back to my 19-year-old 'peak' weight for vanity.
