  • Non-Hashimoto's here. No special diet, just get your levels tested and take your synthroid with lots of water.

  • I used to take them off in the gym and just put them with my phone and keys. Now I wear contacts. :)
  • ONE. MORE. POUND. to get to 135. This latest 5 has taken forever and keeps getting masked by water fluctuations. Next: 130 by my sister's wedding at the end of May.
  • I discontinued metformin for PCOS about a month ago. My doctor said it would be a few more cycles before we see if it negatively affects me or not. I’m kinda nervous...

  • Hi, I am new to this thread, but I would love to join in. I hope it will help keep me accountable. I’m having a lot of trouble losing the last 6 pounds. :)
  • Congratulations!
  • I went to a clothing party last night at someone’s house (Cabi), and ended up buying a size SMALL top and FOUR pants. I can’t believe it!
  • Do you have a regular menstrual cycle? My lowest weight usually happens a few days into my period, when I have a whoosh and I can see my weight loss best when comparing weights from that week. So maybe wait a few more weeks? I always give it 1 cycle before adjusting my calories because of this.
  • I guess I would try repurposing some things, like freezing bananas and blending them to make “nice cream,” making baked apples and cinnamon, homemade applesauce or apple butter. You can form leftover rice into patties and make a pancake/cracker type thing. I’ve done that before. Homemade potato chips. Sweet potatoes can be…
  • I had GERD when I was pregnant. My sympathies, it’s really difficult. I was going to suggest adding oils, butters, nut butters, but sounds like those are out. What about high calorie fruits like avocados and mangoes? Potatoes? Rice? Coconut cream? Or can you really only eat lean meat? I can definitely understand not…
  • Buzzfeed is doing this 2 week healthy eating plan and all the recipes are 1 serving. I think you could go back and search years past, too. https://www.buzzfeed.com/ariellecalderon/day-1-goodful-healthy-eating-challenge-2018?utm_term=.oqdoOarMOW#.oc5VdA1ldP
  • Hi, Meeva! I also am 30 (well, in 5 months), hypothyroid, and PCOS. Located in USA. I can also relate to your struggle with depression and not having friends. I have a husband and kids, but not really any friends, either. Feel free to add me on here. I have 8 lbs left to lose, and I find keeping my deficit small (about 200…
  • We did a crockpot Indian butter chicken, rice, green beans, and fresh cherries. Later I’ll have a hot chocolate and will finish off with a little whisky to ring in the new year. I can’t wait til the kids are in bed!
  • I was telling my aunt that I needed new clothes because of my weight loss, so she brought over some things that she doesn’t wear anymore. I guessed maybe I was a 10, but I ended up keeping a couple size 8 jeans that are even a little baggy, and I also got several like-new sweaters! I’m so happy and grateful because it got…
  • THIS! I recently went out to dinner with my mom and had one (1!!) glass of wine, and was staggering around, room spinning drunk. I was so embarrassed.
  • I bought size M shirts from Target last night for the first time in... probably 10 years! And they were on clearance for $3 each! Also, this is sort of scale-related, but I'm really proud – I've finally reached a normal BMI!
  • I was at the zoo with my husband and kids yesterday and I was able to crouch down and crawl in the kids tunnels in the meerkat exhibit with my 3 year old. I wouldn't have risked it a few months ago, but it was totally easy and so worth it all to be able to play with the kids and you know just engage in life rather than…
  • I read online somewhere that 1800 calories was the minimum for breastfeeding before you risk losing your supply. I know that could be different depending on the person, but for me it was a good starting point and you can adjust from there. But yeah, I have a 7 month old, my second child. I plan on breastfeeding her for 2…
