  • Definitely easier for me now. I'm 5'8 and started running when I was 225lbs. I could struggle to complete a 5K at this weight but that was my limit and my ankles and knees were always sore, as well as my back. I have since lost 60lbs and can comfortably run much faster and much greater distance without pain or soreness.…

I was considering using the plan in the 80/20 book by Matt Fitzgerald, but am open to other suggestions if anyone has had a good experience with another plan. I will take your advice and any plan I do start I will incorporate a two week buffer. Thanks again.

  • Started 225lbs/34 BMI (Jan 17) class 1 obese, near the tippy top, almost class 2. Current 165lbs/25.1 BMI Overweight Goal 160 lbs/24.3 BMI Healthy This is just an initial goal, I may adjust once there. Oh so close to not being classed overweight. This will be the first time in probably 25 years.

  • Got a couple. Got the 1.5 million step badge on my Garmin in three months. Running 20-25 miles a week really adds those steps up. Improved my best training 5K time to 26 minutes flat.   • Lol, It was fun that night, but I remember the next day was terrible. It was a long time ago, but I think I blew off all my classes and stayed in bed until the afternoon. And also vowed "never again."

  • I finished C25K in Feb after not running for 30 years. I plan on running a 1/2 marathon next winter. Presently my long run is 10 miles. As per the posts above it is a good program to get you back into the running groove. Also does your user name stand for NC State beach girl? If so good luck from a fellow North Carolinian.
