  • Start with my crooked smile and eye contact.
  • Saying anything puts you in a delicate situation, regarding her reaction to any comment you may make. You're correct in seeing that she's eating all the time and calories are calories regardless if they come from almonds and yogurt or Doritos and soda. Despite your best intentions to help her see this, she very well may…
  • Is this a real doctor, like in M.D.? My doctor has never said to me "Here, eat only my products and you'll loose weight." This sounds strange to me.
  • Are you friends also doctors? If not, I would follow your doctor's orders.
  • It's not weird at all, I watch movies when I work out at home. When I run outside I don't listen to music. I prefer hearing my feet and breath, and especially being able to hear cars.
  • What keeps me going is remembering how good I feel after I work out. When I'm sitting on the couch staring at the old NordicTrack machine and my mind is running through its normal dialogue of why I should eat a pizza, drink beer, and watch Wreck it Ralph, there's another voice inside of me saying "This isn't what you…
  • When I started lifting years ago my starting weight was 144 pounds, very lean. After about a year of dedicated lifting, up to the point I injured my knee, I had gotten up to 178 pounds and less than 7% body fat. It just takes time, don't get discouraged and give up, stick with what you're doing and you'll get where you…
  • Are you over eating junk food, or still eating healthy food, just more then you want? You're hungry for a reason, but is it boredom, self-esteem, self-sabotage, anxiety, habit, or is your body craving more food because of the exercises you're doing? For some cardio why not get a jump rope?
  • It's only been three months. Are you increasing the weight in each set? Are you "half assing" it and not really pushing yourself when you lift? Not trying to be mean, but if you're going to the gym and simply going through the motions you're not going to accomplish much. Everybody is different, so what works for one guy…
  • Try not to feel ashamed, you're working out and that's great. This is water retention and the same thing happens to me after a hard cardio work out and I drink lots of water. I can jump anywhere from one pound to three and a half pounds, depending on the intensity of my work out and the quantity of water I drink.
  • It doesn't appear to me you're binge eating because you're breakfast is about 600 calories and you're not saying that you're drastically overeating. You're only going over your daily calorie goal by 500 to 1,000, which isn't as bad as it sounds. Compared to how you've been eating in the recent past it may feel like you're…
  • You are exactly on target. When I was in excellent shape years ago I was doing a lot of lifting so I weighted 178 pounds with under 7% body fat and wore size 30 pants. BMI had me as being overweight, but it's overall body composition that matters.
  • You figured it out, just don't let this minor hiccup sabotage you're goal.
  • I weighed 214.8 on the last day of January, 2017. I cut out all wheat, beer, and junk food. I love pizza, beer, potato chips and nacho chips. My diet is on the extreme side, I know, but I've been consistently eating 1400 calories or less every day, and some days I even get down in the 400 to 500 range. My average is in the…
