A friend of mine signed up for dietbet. She loves it! Apparently the threat of losing $20 (or whatever amount) really motivates her. When I saw her a few months ago she had lost quite a bit of weight and she was pretty enthused with the whole thing. For me, personally, I don't think it would motivate me much.

That's not a bad idea, but then I'll have all the other cupcakes calling my name ;) The stores that sell cupcakes around here are not very good - stale/bland cupcakes with a tonne of buttercream (not my favourite).

I thought about that.... but pie crust is harder to make than cake. But a good banana cream pie would be awesome.

I work in an office setting with very active people (runners, cyclists, etc) so I'm probably the fattest person around. I would say that the average person here (even outside of work) is still not overweight, although that seems to be changing. That being said - I don't live in the States so perhaps that's the difference?
