  • I use about 90 grams, which is about 1 serving, according to the can label.
  • Breakfast and lunch, about 300 each, dinner, about 600. Add more to each, depending on exercise calories. Works for me; might not work for you, as I am retired, and not looking after children, or a boss, all day!
  • A seasonal treat: canned pumpkin, almond milk, a frozen banana, and pumpkin pie spices to taste. Yummy! Tastes like pumpkin pie!
  • I drink one everyday for lunch; I suppose I could drink it for breakfast instead, but I really like my cereal or eggs in the morning! My favorite right now is to make one with canned pumpkin, a frozen banana ( I peel them and wrap each one in cling wrap and put them in a freezer bag in the freezer), a scoop of vanilla…
  • Have you ever bought a "One Size Fits All" Robe that looked like one for a small child when you got it?! It's been hanging on my bedroom door hook for the longest time. I put it on yesterday, and it's roomy! Yay!
  • I just make herbal and green iced teas; I started using a little Stevia, but now I don't even use that. I haven't gotten tired of the teas because I use many varieties. (I used to love to drink Sweet Tea!) And, of course, hot tea with breakfast or if I am chilly!
  • Nothing here! Yay! And I even had cheesecake!
  • It can have negative side effects if you are taking some cholesterol medications. Always wise to know what the supplements you take can really do to your body, not just the wild supposed "weight loss magic".
  • I haven't worn heels in years because my balance isn't too good, and my knees needed replacing. I may try some again soon. BUT, the cute little ankle-high rainboots that I couldn't fit into, now fit just perfectly, as do my warm winter zip-up boots. I never realized my feet were fat, or that I would lose weight in my feet…
  • Few will probably relate to this one, but the MRI tube was much more comfortable now that I have lost some weight! I don't mind getting an MRI, but I did certainly feel cramped before!
  • Unsweetened Almond milk seems to lasts longer in the refrigerator than whole milk; I think it it tastes better; it has fewer calories, and contains no saturated fat or cholesterol. It’s good source of vitamins A and D, and is naturally lactose free. Cashew milk is super delicious too, and there are almond-cashew blends, if…
  • I found the hard way that my blender makes a mess if I use hot milk in it, so I make a regular shake in the blender with cold unsweetened almond milk and whey protein powder and then warm it in the microwave. Chocolate powder or vanilla; bananas or frozen fruit sometimes. For Mexican Hot Chocolate, along with the chocolate…
  • Just losing the weight and fitting into some of the items in the the pile of clothes I have waiting for me to get back to my normal size is reward enough for me this time around! I do occasionally buy something I really want to wear in a size or two smaller than I can wear now. But I have plenty of clothes waiting for me…
  • Have you tried seasoning them with some Rosemary? Ground is nice if you don't care for the leaves by themselves: makes everything smell and taste wonderful. I roast most of my veggies. Tonight I'm trying roasted cauliflower slabs, and adding some cheese for the last few minutes.
  • I am 71. I have lost 4 inches from my height, 1/2 inch in the last year. I have degenerative arthritis and stenosis and constant pain. Pain doctor changed my meds on Wednesday (they are working!) and I am going for a bone density test Monday (previous have been normal), and then an MRI. Possible injections later, depending…
  • I never ate peanut butter as a child; I don't know why, but we only had plain jam or jelly sandwiches. We only used peanut butter for making peanut butter cookies. I don't remember giving my children peanut butter and jelly sandwiches either, but we always had it in the house, to make cookies. I discovered the sensory and…
  • I, too, weigh every morning; I only record the next lowest weight. That works well for me. I think when I finally get to maintenance, I will record the next highest weight. And if it gets above, and stays above, where I want to be, I will cut more calories, and exercise more.
  • I blend my chocolate flavored smoothie and then warm it in the microwave, I use twice as much almond milk as I would usually use and it makes a great hot chocolate lunch. (It's chilly here in NE Ohio!) I tried using heated milk in the blender; that was a big mistake!
  • I have one, and I love it! I am not able to use it standing up, due to my balance issues. HOWEVER, I cannot use it seated under my desk as I had planned. There simply is no room for my knees to move. So I have it off to the side and use it when I am talking on the phone, watching TV, or just doing purposeful exercise. Read…
  • I don't care for dark chocolate, so I wouldn't try that. They say eating a handful of nuts works, too, (But that has plenty of calories.) "They" say so many things. So far, for me, the only thing that works is paying attention to CICO; eat less, move more!
  • I'm losing at the same rate as OP; a half pound a week adds up! While I'd like to lose faster, even my doctor says this good. Just keep on keeping on!
  • Good socks, made especially for hiking. I get seconds for Sierratrading.com. for a reasonable price; I'm sure you can find good hiking socks many other places, too. Happy trails!
  • I took my little digital bllod pressure monitor with me to the doctor's office last week because I've told her before that the only time my blood pressure is high is when I'm in her office. Sure enough, it was high, and almost exactly the same on both devices. When I went home, my blood pressure was 114/73 with a pulse of…
  • I like protein, and berries, to keep me on track. Low-fat yogurt and low-fat cottage cheese, protein powder, frozen strawberries, blueberries, and mixed berries, unsweetened almond milk, and hardboiled eggs are always in the house.
  • First, I try to figure out why I feel I'm "starving". I check MFP to see how many calories I have left to work with. (I prelog my meals.) I'll try to take my mind off it. I'll play a computer game of a word game to have something else to think about. Or I'll call a friend. Or I'll take a quick trip outside to poke around…
  • Thanks for the reminder @vanity99. I used cocoa butter during both pregnancies years ago, and it worked. Going to start again, thanks to your reminder!
  • Sad, isn't it, how companies can market scams to people who are so desperate to lose weight that they will pay any ridiculous amount for these "gimmicks" but are sure nothing as simple as CICO would work!? Isn't there a diet plan based on your blood type, too? I wish OP had inquired before they spent the $199 for the…
  • I started at 221 lbs. at 5' 5", sedentary because I was in a wheelchair. At 1200 calories I was quite hungry also. I found that I was not eating enough protein, and once I increased that, it was much easier to stay within my calorie goal. Also, some foods just aren't as filling as others, no matter how many calories they…
  • Keto would not be a way of eating I would want to continue for the rest of my life. I just count calories, and eat a healthy diet, just less of everything! And it's working well for me, and I can keep losing, and later mainraining, by eating this way.
