  • I'm drinking a fresh peach protein smoothie right now; 237 calories! It's my lunch today. Grilling peach halves when cooking out is delicious, also. Sweet enough without adding any brown sugar, but a sprinkle of ginger is also delicious!
  • "A famous Henry Ford quote, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't – you're right,” emphasizes how much attitude determines success or failure. This is true for most projects you take on." I think you can! I was in a wheelchair for seven years, then had both knees replaced and now can walk. I've lost 60 some…
  • Yes, I have heard of heart problems due to the use of Voltaren. Also, be very careful mixing aspirin and other NSAIIDs together; you really must be careful, or avoid doing so altogether. Talk again with your doctor and let him know how much and what drugs and how often you are taking them You don't want to creat additional…
  • When the weather turns cooler, like it has this week, I make myself overnight oats, with oats, almond milk some fruit and or nuts, and appropriate spices. I make it in the evening, and then I log it for my next morning's breakfast. In the morning, I heat them up and then make myself a cup of herbal or green tea, Couldn't…
  • Splurging just a little bit on new undies, because when you've lost 60 pounds, the old ones don't fit very well anymore!
  • Tried on a dress I had that I previously couldn't wear because it has buttons all the way down the front, and they gaped so badly! Fits perfectly now, nice and smooth with no gapes!
  • Applesauce is often used aa a replacement for oil or butter, which means that an applesauce cake/cookie is lower in fat and calories. Use unsweetened applesauce to lower the amount of sugar too. Applesauce also lends to a moist texture in a cake. If there is no oil or butter in your recipe, your recipe is using applesauce…
  • I decorate the Dark Chocolate Fudge Dipped Vanilla Oreos, the Chocolate Fudge Dipped Vanilla, and the Fudge Dipped Mint ones with those small sugar cake decorations they sell for different holidays. (I use a small dab of frosting to attached them.) Then I put them in fancy cupcake liners, box them up, and then give them…
  • How many calories in those once or twice a week cheat meals? Those add up quickly, and may be part of your problem. Good luck!
  • I will count calories 'til the day I die! Just like I will keep track of all my checks and debits in my checking book! Neither takes much effort, is a good thing to do, and avoids big problems! This is what works for me!
  • Congrats on getting sick and tired of feeling sick and tired! Good luck on your journey!
  • Fitting into, and feeling realy comfortable in, smaller pants that have a zipper and NO ELASTIC in the waistband!
  • No, that doesn't happen to me, as I do my own cooking, and pre-plan my meals. I am on only1200 calories, and my meals are evenly divided at about 400 calories each. Perhaps you could watch/help your Mom cook dinner and that would help you. Good luck!
  • @Miss_Missy I haven't tried edamame pasta, but I had red lentil rotini this week. Very filling and yummy! Tonight, I'm trying chickpea pasta. I find it best to work a craving into my 1200 daily calories.
  • Had some brand new one-size smaller underwear in my drawer, and it's so comfortable! Did you know you can put 100% cotton old underwear in your compost pile?! (minus all the elastic, of course!)
  • 375 degrees, on a piece of foil folded to just hold the eggs, for about13-15 minutes.
  • Squash Boats (yellow squash stuffed with squash, green onions, and cherry tomatoes, and sprinkled with some crushed whole wheat crackers) and two baked eggs
  • My Grandson calls calories "delicious points". The more calories something has, the more delicious it will be!
  • Summertime Breakfast today: Fresh sliced strawberries, Kellogg's Raisin Bran Crunch, and lowfat Vanilla Yogurt, alternately layered in a pretty parfait glass! (Many varieties, based on fruit and cereal on hand.) Yummy!
  • Weigh yourself with and without the roast; that should give you its weight!
  • Why not just weigh it?!
  • The Chocolate and the Vanilla Cream are also available in a 5 lb size; I use Subscribe and Save, and save even more. My Favorite is the Banana Creme; a mild flavor that's great with berries in a smoothie.
  • My seedling squash plants and chives will have to stay inside under the lights for a while more, as it snowed yesterday and today. I have some canteloupe seeds potted, but they haven't sprouted yet. My daughter has a garden big enough that she shares, so I'm just growing a few oddball things!
  • Most of my dinners are pasta, with veggies of any and all types. And a variety of spices. No butter or oil. Sometimes with salmon or tuna. 59 pounds lost, and I get to eat my favorite food, just less of it! And it's filling, and works for me! (Barilla's high protein pasta, Veggie pastas, and Red Lentil Pastas are my…
  • 1200
  • I need way more than 150 calories in the morning for breakfast, otherwise I'd be starving for sure! However, I have found that making a protein smoothie almost everyday for lunch, with almond/coconut milk, protein powder, berries, bananas, pumpkin puree, etc. satisfies me until dinner, as I need the extra protein, being a…
  • I use plain yogurt, instead of mayo, and add celery, green pepper, a bit of onion, and some spices. Sometimes also add some hard-bolied egg, Weird at first with yogurt, but I've gotten used to it!
