My avo toast has: Sautéed garlic and smoked chipotle flakes Tonnes of (Maldon) salt - I am a salt fiend, though Pepper Lemon (can add zest for extra flavour) ^all mixed into the smashed avo Sliced plum tomatoes, cooked quickly in the same oil as the garlic to make them extra flavourful ^on top I think that’s it! Sometimes…

I count both, but if you stick to certain macros they will add up to an equivalent calorie intake, as protein and carbs are ~4kcal/gram and fat is ~9kcal/gram. So you could work out macros appropriate for your TDEE calories minus a deficit (lots of online calculators do that for you alongside calories) and then just stick…

I see the most substantial difference in your back, and a little bit of loss around the waist as well. Great work - keep it up! :)
-
If the offcuts are ‘pure’ fat then it’s ~9kcal per gram.

Cottage cheese. The texture is too much for me

I generally walk in all weather, including the very heavy snow we had lately in the UK (not a fun trip to uni...), but I think it's important to know when it's a stupid idea. As long as you stay safe and know when to take breaks or when it's a good idea to just get the damn bus, I think it's fine. The key is that your…

my ocd is really bad at the moment and I'm having trouble drowning those loud thoughts out but I've had lots of bad luck lately which validates my compulsions and makes everything worse so basically *kitten* being mentally ill

Does this legal inaccuracy thing apply everywhere? I thought that the tolerance was about 2.5% for items <1kg in the EU?
-
That was previously what I did, I just had fitness goals, but as I slowly gained weight post-bulk (was already a healthy weight by this point) I became more and more unhappy. I feel like I want to be able to have aesthetic goals, and I’m at a point where calorie counting itself isn’t a trigger. It’s just head-spinningly…

Looks delicious! My fav kimchi is the stuff you can get from K-mart/Korean grocery stores - I see the Chongga brand most often. You have me craving it now...

CW: ED I'm an ED survivor and I can relate to the feeling of thinking you are obese all the time, even when you are a healthy weight. Have you heard of body dysmorphia? It really messes with your perception of yourself and is common for people with eating disorders/who have lost a lot of weight quickly/both of those…

Yes, I have read a substantial number of the studies you are talking about! Faecal transplants are the example everyone gives, and of course there is evidence that they are very effective. However, I don't think that the example is a representative one for probiotics, being that an ENTIRE microbial community is replacing…

Food! I have a cheat meal, or an allocated one, to 'celebrate' staying within my weekly calories each month. Often it stays within maintenance calories, though not necessarily. It's to teach myself balance and to allow myself a treat, within reason.

I’ve done some microbiome research and am inclined to agree. Although there is compelling evidence that the microbiome does interact a lot with host health, the evidence for probiotics working in a sustained way is much less clear, plus the developmental time point seems like it could be important as well. I think there…

Fibre one brownie, Skyr or Greek yoghurt or protein bar, black coffee.
-
Most spices get skipped unless in the recipe-builder (more for my convenience later on!), as does black coffee and most diet fizzy drinks.
-
This is what protein bars are basically made for, right?!
-
Take it slow. Better to cut down on sugary snacks gradually and get used to it, than cut them all out at once and make an unsustainable change. I like high protein snacks like Skyr or 0% Greek yoghurt (Fage) with cocoa powder and Truvia - the protein keeps me full which stops me needing to snack more. I still like sugary…

I cheat by getting takeaway food or something from a restaurant - something that is highly calorific or difficult to log (or both!). I need the idea of a monthly break, even if I choose not to take it, to keep me in a good mindset and enjoy food a bit with my boyfriend. Yeah, sure, I could fit it into my calories - but…

Try pesto, or marinating your chicken in different seasonings eg lemon, olive oil, thyme and garlic, or sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic and rice vinegar. Harissa is also really good. Do you eat tomatoes and onion? You can make a sauce with those, harissa, stock, and chickpeas (can even skip the canned tomato) and cook…

Salmon!! But it is so calorific, it’s not easy to fit in every day in the quantities I would like...
-
I don’t think your body can even process large quantities of water at once, so there’s no point downing a lot at a time, you’ll just get rid of it by urinating. Definitely try to sip across the course of the day, though. I also don’t really get thirsty, but my addiction to coffee and green tea presumably keeps me alive

Quest bars are definitely my favourite protein bar! Expensive but worth it if you can fit them into your budget, IMO. The fruit flavours are less nice than the chocolatey ones.

This entire site is an absolute life-saver, especially for curries and such that you can make ahead: http://budgetbytes.com/ ///and/// https://cookingonabootstrap.com/ I also really like lentil soup (cheap, easy, low protein and decent macros), some of the skinnytaste recipes (e.g. the mushroom stroganoff, and stuffed…

you can commiserate with someone without shaming sex workers. come on, now.

basically how I feel after reading about some of the awful, rude, hurtful people mentioned in this thread!
-
that's not brutal honestly, that's abuse....
-
I'm not very good at giving examples, but really, *kitten* brutal honesty and most people who enthusiastically practice it. Rarely do people need the 'brutal' portion of that statement. Being honest and clear with people is absolutely welcome, but I tend to find that the people who like to be "brutally honest" and who…

Wow, what a little *kitten*.
