I would say that extreme black and white thinkers are quite defended individuals who gain comfort from their belief that complex issues are really "quite simple". They like to cut corners in their thinking and feed into stereotypes. I think it often goes hand in hand with unhelpful traits like arrogance, false omnipotence…

I use FB for family, friends and some dog rescue stuff. I'm a psychotherapist and use Twitter only for work (keeping in touch with posts from professional organisations or regulating bodies, conferences/events, research etc). Don't use Snapchat or Instagram or any others.
