It's like you're reading my mind @themedalist I was just talking about how I need more water and I've got a buddy helping me with that. And I make it a point to get up and move every 30 mins. Well, I try. Sometimes I'm in the middle of a call or another assignment that keeps me planted, but I get up as soon as I can and…

:D sounds like me

I did not move it much on Monday. Note to self: Do not break in new heels on Move-It Monday.
-
BTW - I saw this on Facebook - let's not be this person, but it's good for a laugh

Things are going well for me. Music is my queue to move, and I've made up some routines to some of my favorites songs. I struggled to get over 12,500 steps this past weekend, and I've only met my Gold status twice, the rest were Silver. Yesterday taught me an important lesson - you gotta wear the right shoe, no matter how…

1. I turn on my TV with the remote and then set it down wherever I happen to walk next: kitchen, bedroom, bathroom. It's a marathon just hunting it down to change the channel. 2. I would, but I'd probably end up tripping over them :D 3. I moved my mini-stepper to the living room a couple weeks ago, and I have been using…

I would have loved to do the spring cleaning one but I didn't have time. I did swap out having the TV on and listened to music instead.

Awesome words, @themedalist, thank you for that. Unless I missed it somewhere, how do we know how many minutes we have spent not sitting? I'm trying to keep track of all the time I deliberately get up to move from my desk and so far I'm up to 36 mins. My fitness tracker says I've been active for 1 hr and 18 mins, but it…

I signed up for the Gold! I thought about going for the Platinum, but I don't want to push myself, too much. But with amount of moving I have been doing lately, the Gold is definitely a reasonable goal.

I have to sit a lot for my job, too, but on occasion I get to step out. I set a timer for 30 mins to remind me to get up and move. I really want to get 15,000 steps a day. For the month of May, that would put me at 465,000! I was in a step challenge last year where I barely made over 600,000 steps over two months (10,000…

More dancing today. I've got a good routine going :)

I've been taking the stairs at work more. There is one building that I work in sometimes with three stories. Taking the stairs used to kill me. Now it's not so bad. Not easy, but not bad. Plus - non-scale victory - I can do full jumping jacks!!
-
Wow @PinkyPan1, your steps count must be awesome! I'm still trying to improve. Yesterday I was so tired, I didn't even make 10K, but I'm going to keep going. It improves my mood :) I don't have any stairs but I'm sure there is something I can do at home to increase my steps.
-
Agh, i forgot to park further away, but I'm about to run (drive) to another building for some work and I'll take the stairs - :s
-
Danced like I hoped no one was watching :D
-
Awesome suggestions. I sometimes take the stairs at work, and I park a little further away then I used to. I will try to take the stairs more often, and I'll park a few spots down from where I do now. I'm also going to try for that 15,000 steps a day that Amish women walk. I currently have my goal at 10,000 and 4-5 days…

I got a new motivation for Move-It Mondays. Maybe it'll help me move it everyday :D I'm going to get up and dance a little every time I realize I am sitting too long. My fitness tracker doesn't always remind me like it should, so I have to remind myself. But either way, I'm going to dance a little to get me moving. I don't…

You are an absolute treasure @texasgardnr You're right when you said...

I really enjoy this challenge, too. It's a good way to bring light into another person's day and yours as well. I regularly let people cut in front of me at the grocery store who only have a few items and I have half a basket or more. I did that yesterday and the woman was so grateful, she thanked my twice :) once when I…

Today the weather is really nice out. Sorry for everyone who hasn't seen Spring yet. The southwest rarely ever sees winter. To get moving today, I've already rounded my building a couple of times this morning. I plan on getting a few more laps this afternoon. It's a small building, so I usually only get about 400-500 steps…

:D I took some boxes home, but I have not had a chance to declutter. It's something I will definitely work on, even if I can't get it done this week. My main goal is to "just say no!" No! I won't find some use for it later. No! It won't come in handy someday. No! I don't need to hang onto it "just in case." No, no, no!
-
I finally got over 10,000 steps today. It has been awhile. I also did 16 mins on the elliptical, which may not sound like much, but Monday really wore me out. I did not want to workout. But I pushed myself for at least 16. Personal triump :)
-
My technique for decluttering is to get a large, stretchy trash bag and just walk around throwing away anything I know I don't need and have no idea why I keep it. Stuff for donation goes in a box. You'd think I'd have absolutely no clutter with this technique, but I either don't spend the time to do it or I end up…

I had thought about that @77tes, but I was low on time, so I thought cutting the breasts small and cooking them in my dutch oven would be faster. In the end, i think it took the same amount of time as the simmer and shred, but it was still good.
-
@77tes I had a delicious supper!! It was so, so good. I chopped up some chicken breasts, cutting against the grain so it would be easy to chew. I seasoned it with a little garlic salt, some lemon, butter, herb seasoning, and some Red New Mexico Chile powder (only the best ;) ). It was soooo delicious! topped of course with…

I definitely should do that! I cannot believe I haven't yet. :D I love going to Rosa's and having their chicken fajitas, but I never think to have chicken tacos. All I gotta do is replace the flour tortilla with corn and viola! I usually have ground beef or carne asada tacos. This past weekend for Easter I made tacos with…
-
I've heard about that method of shopping. I tend to spend a lot more time in the meat section than the fruit and veggie section. I try to stick to chicken and fish, but steak and chops are so darn good. I also need to cut back on ground beef, but tacos are life! I've tried ground turkey and it's just not the same. Anywho,…

Making food changes are a big way to helping me keep on track and not feel like I'm missing out. For example, I love lattes! But they are so full of fat and sugar if I am not careful. So I started making my own coffee at home and using low cal creamer and Splenda. It's not a latte, but it's the coffee flavor that I love…
