• Did ya’ll see th news that MFP had a security breach? They accessed email, passwords but not social security #s or payment info. They’re encouraging everyone to change your MFP passwords. Tess
• The sun finally came out today and the temperature rose to the 70s. Temps are supposed to settle back to the 50 by tomorrow, but I’ll settle for the promise of Spring for now. Waves to all, Tess
• Sister!
• It will help a lot, Sara - it will remind her that somebody cares and is thinking of her. You have a kind and generous heart.
• LOL! Lana, I could never guess that you worked in the theatre! And trust you to swoon into the arms of the Cabana boys... What can I say? I like my salad dressing and fixings evenly distributed. Thanks for the smile, Tess
• Next time, I’m waiting to read these posts until I’m conveniently near a bathroom and NOT on a public bus, miles from home.... (But the bathroom stories are part of why I love this group. That and the fact you tolerate me for being a salad shaker....) Humbly, Tess
• Hi all- back from vacation (winter beach break) so my AOTD is to get my calories back where they should be and get my “kitten” moving. Went to the gym this morning, so that’s a good start. Dawn, I’m so sorry about the tragedy in your community and the challenges with you SO’s sin and your ex’s son. No more words than…
• Damn Kathryn - I’m so sorry. My heart aches for you and your family. Sending healing thoughts and vibes your way. Tess
• Congrats, Kathryn - glad it all went so well! Waves to all, Tess
• I love this group...salad shakers.... Dawn, hope Tres continues to recover, and SO is able to see his son. At least his son now knows his father wants to see him. Such unnecessary drama! Lana, hope all your appointments went well. The C-boys will be extra kind to you. Headed for a week’s vacation; will pop in when I can.…
• Kathryn, I’m so sorry to hear about your friend’s daughter. So much sadness has surrounded you in the past year...sending you hugs and peaceful thoughts... Ash, your attitude towards your students is so heartwarming. They are as lucky to have as you are to have them. Good for you on resisting temptation! Sara, I hear you…
• Hello all - glad Monday is over. Cold and overcast here in DC. Sara, DH and I are big March Madness fans. We’ll hopefully have a bracket challenge at work. I haven’t picked my favorite yet but may have to go with UVA given the Virginia connection. Trying to convince myself it’s not too cold to go to the gym. BBL Tess
• Welcome Shelby! This is a wonderful community - very welcoming and encouraging. I’ve found d it helpful to keep a “cheat sheet” of everyone’s screen name and actual name if they use it. I’m Tess and I live in the Washington DC area (Lana and I share weather patterns ). Ash, what a walk! Like Kathryn, I’m tired just…
• Recent NSV after 50+ pounds down: Able to have my hair cut short and finally have it look great on me because my face has thinned down so much. I always thought I had a round face but now see that it’s more of an oval shape with a nearly pointed chin. Who knew?!
• A bright beautiful day here in the DMV (DC/Maryland/Virginia). Chilly but a fabulous day for the Sunday morning walk. Ash, what a long day at school! I am in awe of teachers - a hard job with little recognition. I often thought teachers should be one of the highest paid professions instead of one of the lowest, given the…
•
That's awesome. I always lie about my weight when I have to get my license.
I always have too, and have lied by a LOT. In fact, the first time I did it, the DMV clerk - herself a plus-sized woman - gave me a skeptical look. I said “that’s my story and I’m sticking with it.” She said she understood. In…
• This is so cool, Ash! What a great life skill for your students to learn now - it will serve them well for years to come. Tess
• Hi all - Happy Friday! I thought I had been keeping up with the messages then realized I was confused about why folks were referring to Ash’s lungs/breathing! Back up to speed now..Yikes! Wildfires....Congrats on conquering the Gym Hill, Ash! And thanks for the zucchini boat recipe; that will come in handy soon. Lana, it…
• That’s great news, Dawn! What a clever idea - good for you.
• Happy International Woman’s Day! Celebrate yourself, celebrate the women in your life. Best, Tess
• Hi everyone. Ash, welcome to the discussion! Your job sounds so fulfilling - and your fur babies are adorable. I’m Tess and I live in the Washington DC area with a hubby and two adorable and sometimes mischievous kitties. I’ve been on MFP since January 2017 and had great success in losing 50 lbs last year (slow and…
• Congratulations! That’s a fantastic milestone - good for you.
• A gorgeous day here in the nation’s capital - just the right kind of chilly, still a bit breezy and gorgeous sunshine. Did a 2-hour walk - helped both my mood and my sinuses. Happy Sunday all - BBL. Tess
• Sara m, I love this! And oh so true for me...if I’m being honest, there are a LOT of activities that come before housework for me! The winds have seemed to have died down to a dull roar. So far, we still have power and all our trees - very luck indeed. Others weren’t so fortunate. BBL Tess
• As with Lana, high winds here in DC. Constant wind with scary gusts. DH says it sounds like the ocean so am trying to pretend we’re at the beach. I have an unexpected day off - the federal government closed due to weather so my org is closed too as we follow the Fed schedule. Was a bit surprised at the closure -…
•
I'm sure you don't think this... but, that's great! That is one smart cat... sorry you had to pay a fine, tho...
Don’t worry, Sara - our cats are our spoiled babies and we could never part with them! And he is pretty cute, even when he’s naughty.
• File this under “next time, I’m adopting a stupid cat”..... Our cats love open windows. From watching us, they have figured out how to unlock them and we even caught them putting their little paws on the glass and attempting to open them. Today, the 3-year-old took it one step further. He pried the alarm sensor off one of…
• We’re here for you, Lana!
• In addition to congrats on those 7 pounds - congrats on the 50 day streak! Keep celebrating these Non Scale Victories (NSV). You’re off to a fantastic start.
