I love this so much! Such a great outlook and you're absolutely right! Consistency will reap results.

From the last few days: - More fit on the my 32nd birthday than I have been for years prior. - Went for my first training run today and enjoyed it.

I just wanted to come back to this and state that I got a heart rate monitor (Fitbit), and according to my logging and weight loss observations over the course of 4 months, my HRM is fairly accurate for me. In fact, I find it more accurate than logging my exercise via MFP's exercise catalogue. I do a combination of cardio…

Being in a room with lots of pillows, blankets, cozy slippers, etc, but not being allowed to touch any of them. I live for being cozy.
-
My preference is actually to use a HRM to track my workout. Mine links with MFP automatically, but if not I would manually log the calories or at least try to find the related exercise option with the closest to what I burned.

I signed up for a 5k race yesterday, and today I started jogging.

I dial down the intensity, for example, by walking outside instead of hitting the gym. Recently (during a month long chest virus) when I felt better and was sure I wasn't contagious, I'd go attempt my normal work out. If I was zapped the next day, I'd dial it back or completely rest for a few more days until I felt well…

Like a few others, I was in your shoes until 5 months ago when I had enough of feeling terrible. Small steps, one at a time, is what worked for me: -Walking 3-5 days a week - Tracking food accurately and honestly - Water - Learning how to prep weekly for clean eating. One week at a time the changes added up - I feel much…

Take my advice with a grain of salt because I haven't followed a macro diet - however based on the information you gave, especially considering you're exercising and that 1200 is the bare minimum for most people - I would bet that following a macro approach (regardless of the calories) might be more efficient. As an aside…

My next fitness goals. One of them costs money (for the trainer), the other does not but is less appealing to me (running).

What are you planning to get?

I'm happy to encounter at least one other like me!

I mean, they can woo if they want but I've been tracking the trends for my own body for quite a long time, and it's pretty consistent. i definitely meant to put that it's opposite trend for many women - I'm the outlier weirdo i think.

You can take baby steps, absolutely. I got started on the whole journey because of a podcast call Tiny Leaps. The idea is that just making a small change can lead to big changes. And it has absolutely been true for me. I started by just getting out and walking 20-30 minutes 3-5 times a week. That's pretty basic. I did it…

Yum!! Blue cheese

I've been working out from home a lot, since I'm still new enough at the gym (November) to be a bit foggy on the etiquette of when it's busy. I will go really early on the weekend because it's only me and the older people there at that hour. Regardless of the reason or time of year, I just don't enjoy a busy gym.
-
I go at least once a day, up to three times. There is no time of day regularity though. I can't remember a time that I skipped a day, except for my first pregnancy. My kids are also daily.

Just read up on this because I'm looking to find out whether others experience their weight loss primarily between ovulation and their period. I almost never lose an ounce during the first half of my cycle, and then drop it all in the two weeks before my period. That seems very...backwards compared to others?
-
I would like to say that I love your Red Green meme hahaha. Congrats on your hard work - it's really impressive and gives me a great deal of hope that I can adapt and overcome when I reach your stage.
-
Further to that, if you're a woman, you may be like me. I don't lose any weight between my cycle start and ovulation. Not an ounce, no matter what. From ovulation to cycle start, it all drops at once. So two weeks out of every 4, I've learned to just accept that I won't budge. It's fine, it catches up later.

For me, when I haven't seen a weight loss it's been because I have cut my calories too much. When I've done a refeed, the weight drops all at once. Then it's been just a matter of finding that better balance of less deficit, more weight loss from not being in starvation mode.

Definition in my shoulders! I only noticed because I was brushing my teeth after a shower in my towel. Normally I get dressed right away and I don't have many mirrors. I hadn't noticed until today.

And thanks for prompting me to write all that out, because I could have written your original post. It was nice to get some perspective for myself - I am always trying to do better in some way.

Some perspective: My mum is a person who, like many of us, has struggled for decades with her weight. It's been up and down, with a few really remarkable losses that she maintained for a few years before the weight crept back up. Through out it all, she has eaten mostly home cooked meals, and she has gone for a walk every…

My excuses: Don't feel like it. I'm healthy, so my weight doesn't matter. I don't like exercise. I'm happy like this. I don't have the money for the classes I want to take. I'm breastfeeding and my body is holding weight. I'm going to have another baby so why would I bother losing only to gain again? Having kids is hard.…

I honestly have no idea what to say. I've been significantly overweight and he was still attracted to me. If he was significantly overweight, I am not sure if I'd be attracted to him. I like to think yes, but I'm just not certain I would be. One thing is for sure, I would never want to hurt him. I would want to help him…

Others have addressed the calorie goal, so I won't bother. However - if you're eating breakfast you're kick-starting your metabolism for the day. Sometimes in a fast (like not eating breakfast), you just stop feeling hungry. Once you feed yourself, your body is jumpstarted and ready to go. Something you could try is adding…

For me it's mental health, to feel like "myself" physically as well. I also have a young family and I have noticed our whole family seems to take their lifestyle cues from me. If I am active and eating well, everyone is active and eating well. I owe it to them as much as to myself, because I created them.

I like to look at my calories in versus calories out on a weekly basis when it feels like that cheat day is going to ruin everything. We know that a lb of fat loss is typically 3500 calories of deficit. Maybe you went over today, but it's what you do for the other 6 days of the week that will make the difference. Shifting…

I'm really close to moving from an obese BMI to overweight.
