Heart Rate Monitor feedback while sick
I'm anecdotally curious about what you may have noticed about your heart rate data when you're sick with a virus or infection. I've noticed my body works harder when I am sick - my daily average resting heart rate goes up a few points, and my heart rate data will translate into more 'activity' calories burned for simple…

Support your running with strength training. You won't regret it.
I had been putting off strength training (with any degree of consistency) for months now, after stupidly doing an intense strength session and following it up with a long run the very next day. The soreness I felt after that persisted for about 5 days, and the aching was so bad it felt flu-like. Anyway, I finally started…

43 lbs and counting lost, life gained
I'm approaching my one year anniversary of starting with one work out to save my mental health. At 31, I was at my highest ever weight of 219 pounds, starting to experience aches and pains exclusively due to my weight, and was a mess of anxiety. I knew I couldn't live like that. I've been slow and steady on this journey,…

Explain like I'm stupid - Air Frier/Actifry
I'm curious about air friers and whether I should get one - explain to me like I'm really dumb how they work and what sorts of things you can make. If you can give me some examples of conventional fried food nutrition versus actifry nutrition for a similar item, I'd be grateful. Do you find it easy to track stuff you make…

Half-way There - Before and During
I'm about half-way through my weight loss journey: SW: 219.4 (August 2017) CW: 188.4 Goal: 159 (By the end of 2018 will be fine) Height: 5'7" In my 30s. Size 18/XXL --> Size 12/14 and M/L currently I started this journey more for the mental health than anything. Because I was logging into MFP to log my exercise, I started…

Slow Losers (on purpose)
I'm just curious who else is out there who is purposely taking their weight loss journey kind of slowly and are very much okay with it? What are your reasons for wanting to take things more slowly? I'm also interested in hearing success stories from those who did lose slowly and had it add up. My calorie deficit is set to…

Heart rate monitor calorie burn?
Hi All, What my best bet is for accurately tracking my calorie burn? I'm just starting out and I suspect that I'm probably burning a lot more calories then activity trackers account for due to my current weight and low fitness level. Is it worthwhile to use a heart rate monitor's calorie burn function? I don't know why,…

Women - Cycle and Weight Loss
I'm just interested in if anyone else is weird like me. Anecdotally, most women don't lose or will instead gain during PMS and their period. I've found the opposite - I hold weight from my period start until ovulation. From ovulation into my period, I do all my weight loss then. Has anyone else noticed this bizarre pattern?

Tips for making enticing salads?
So I'm a big fan of a really good salad. I order them at restaurants frequently. I always get dressing on the side and just add a small amount because I hate too much dressing. I just seem to suck at making an interesting, tasty salad at home. Any tips for me? Elements that I should include but am missing? I just end up…
