Tortilla chips. I'm not sure how so many calories fit into such a small shape.

Didn't realize gluten was dirty.

Clean of what?

What kind of pacing are you using? Have you tried slowing down instead of running fewer times per week?

It's very doable if you're lucky enough to be a relatively tall male and have plenty of wiggle room in your calories. I'm 6'1" and was able to lose ~2 pounds a week on 1700 calories (which is pretty generous all things considered). The end result was about 50 pounds in 6 months. One good note - you'll likely lose 10-15…

If it requires that you pay for entry or for coaching to prep for a contest...beware a scam. This isn't too dissimilar from those people who used to grab teens at the mall in the 80's and tell them that they have a future in modeling in order to get them to sign up with their 'agency' and pay for head shots. That said, if…

Honestly, I do kind of like Diet Dr. Pepper.

Cooked catfish is about 40-50 calories per ounce before considering the breading or frying oil. I'd call a 6 ounce portion about 450-500 calories. 250-300 for the protein and another 150-200 for the breading and oil absorbed from frying.

LOL. I'm waiting to see his post on this board..."Had a binge day yesterday and feel so bad about myself!".

Included. Generally, the hot dog alone is 150 calories and the bun alone is 150 calories.

I ate at the same calorie level until I hit target. I didn't consciously slow down my weight loss, it just naturally happened as I lost pounds. I tapered to maintenance once I hit target such that I started maintenance 5 pounds below target. It was nice to have a little bit of runway to learn how to maintain.

200 calories per half hour for hand washing clothes? How dirty are they?
-
If strenuous work is involved, add it as a similar activity. Otherwise, ignore it and take the bonus loss as gravy. The calorie loss from general gardening activity is small and slow enough that the risk of running short of calories is minor and even if you should run short over time, it'll be slow enough that you can…

Wouldn't adding commercial custard just make it normal ice cream....?

Serious question...how does ice cream upset sleep? Something having to do with dairy?

My max is actually pretty close to 220 minus my age. That said, it doesn't matter who you are - 50% of max shouldn't feel like much of anything. It just goes to show that any exercise is good exercise.

The easiest way to figure running distances and paces is to get a GPS capable watch or phone. The good news is that most phones are GPS capable now and tracking/fitness apps are either native to the OS or an easy download. Outside of that, google maps isn't a horrible choice to plan your routes. For interval work, you can…

when I use my scythe, I usually estimate about 50 calories per soul.

You can start on the downhill and catch a ride back to the top but even that is harder than you think it should be. Hills aren't easy. Try to ignore speed and focus on constant effort instead. It might be slow as all get out but it's definitely possible to keep a run at easy effort over lots of hills.

It's not a bad program but it can be a bit of a slog to get through. Basically 60+ minutes per day, 6 days a week. It's OK for overall strength but neglects cardio. You could probably do better in less time per week by going with a more focused resistance/cardio regimen but the benefit of P90X is that you just have to…

Baked cheese puffs. Slightly higher calorie than popcorn but still a decent amount of volume for the calories (130 calories per ~3 cup serving). Outside of that vegetables are my go to choice. I dip them in a mixture of everything bagel seasoning, parmesan cheese, and salt and they are surprisingly satisfying. Calories in…

Why can't you guesstimate based on the size of the salad? You know all of the ingredients and you can probably put together a workable estimate. A conservative estimate for non-creamy salad dressings would be something like 50 calories per tablespoon. Creamy dressings will go for 75 calories per tablespoon or so. Assuming…

LOL. I initially read the title of this thread as "Vegan and ribs". I thought it was going to be a vegan asking if ribs are OK to eat.

Your maintenance pre-exercise should be somewhere in the 2500 range. Resistance training won't burn much and peloton is probably burning something like 700-800 an hour. If you're hungry and not interested in losing weight, then eat more. The resistance training will help you to cut some inches even if you eat to…

This is the best way to do it. Estimate the calories based on the ingredients. The above might be a little high but it's likely in the right ballpark. Only you know how big the sandwich or how much sweet tea you think you had, but 800-900 for the total lunch would make sense to me.

"Overdoing it" at the gym doesn't really manifest like that. Generally, your body will fail immediately when it hits the exhaustion point. It won't wait a while after the workout to let you know it's upset. I'd agree with the others that your workout didn't cause your illness. It was either the pre-workout, or it was…

If raw and frozen, the nutrition info is for raw. Given that 1 ounce of water weighs one ounce and it's unlikely that there is an entire ounce of water glazed onto the filet, just weigh it while frozen. You'll be close enough (unless there's a ton of ice on the filet, in which case you probably need to thaw it a bit…

FTFY - I hope it's nothing serious but don't be a hero.

My shoes usually end up lasting about 400 miles. One idea is to have 2 or 3 pairs that you can keep in rotation (all phased in age). I generally know that a pair needs replacing when I start feeling odd aches or pains while running in one pair and don't feel the same when running in the other shoes.

Interestingly, while the recommendation to have a post-workout meal or drink within 30 minutes after completion isn't a bad one, it's not entirely necessary for most recreational exercisers. While the marginally faster recovery time is beneficial to those doing really intense two a days or something like that, those of us…
