I followed MFP numbers for years and the scale never budged. I went on keto and ignored the carb goal drastically (I don't go over 30 carbs and usually under 30 and I lost 15 lbs this month. Maybe it doesn't work for everyone - but for me, absolutely. I am sticking with it.

I make a smoothie: Chocolate sun warrior powder raw cacao raw spinach unsweetened coconut or almond milk Sometimes, depending on my plan for the day, I will throw some nut butter in there but that makes it higher carb. I only do that when I know my lunch and dinner will be lower carb that day.

Find keto groups on FB - there are a ton of great ones with so many recipes you'll lose your mind!

I can't drink without gaining weight. You have 2 shots every night? That doesn't sound like "not much of a drinker" to me LOL. Not judging but anything daily is pretty much drinking! My husband drinks daily at night as well. I used to and stopped because of the weight gain!

This. I did not lose weight for years and I was doing everything "right". Cut out carbs and sugar - bam - 15 lbs in a month!

I should also say I was tested for everything before trying this diet because I couldn't get answers on my weight gain or inability to lose based on what I was eating.

I'm not sure what it is. I researched every kind of eating and found this is working for me. Whatever the reason, going from not losing for years to now losing in a month is enough to tell me something is working the way I need it to!

43 years old here! I want to get back to running a half marathon (I ran quite a few in my late 30s) and am a yogi trying to perfect arm balances and handstands. I have recently lost 15 pounds following a modified keto diet and would like to lose about 15-20 more pounds!

I do it about 2 times a week. I just stop eating around 2:00 and then eat breakfast the next day.

As a former binger I think you need to dig a little deeper here. Are you binging because you show up starving and there's nothing healthy to eat so you just let loose because you are caving out of hunger? Try lowering your carb and sugar intake. The carbs I am "allowed" on MFP are way to high for me to lose on. I eat around 20-30 grams per day to lose weight, and less than 12 grams of sugar per day.

I don't think this will get the support or answers you are looking for when most people are on health and fitness lifestyles which is usually the opposite of fasting. Spiritual groups might be more your thing for advice and support since those are the types who tend to do things like that.

I am a fitness junky but I love yoga. Depending on what kind of yoga it is it can be the hardest workout you do. But - regardless, with your fitness schedule I think yoga would be an amazing balance to stretch out your muscles and challenge your body!

I have essentially cut them out except for raspberries occasionally because I am doing a modified keto diet (low carb low sugar). I still have veggies though. I love fruit but I have discovered how much sugar they have so I pretty much make it an occasional treat.

You will always have those days. Some days are better than others. Beating yourself up does nothing productive. You don't have to google calories. Do you have the my fitness pal app? You can use it to scan barcodes or for quick lookups. That's all I use. And yes I've gone over plenty of times. I'm doing the keto diet but…
