  • I just hit 303 at the doctor's office and broke down into tears right there in the office. I clearly remember being healthy, and it doesn't feel that far away, but actually, it was over 25 years ago. It's crazy! You don't even notice at first and then it's; 'it's not that bad, I'll just lose it after the....(holidays,…
  • I got my Charge HR a little over a year ago, but then life exploded all over me and I wasn't doing much for awhile. Recently found MFP (loving it, btw!), and want to start walking a bit. It's hard because I've let myself get so far out of shape that everything is painful - not 'oh yeah, feel the burn' painful, but real…
  • People don't have to do the things you're doing, or make the choices your making; but if they care about you then they need to RESPECT your choices and realize you don't have to do what they're doing either. It's hard, but you have to take care of YOU, first and foremost.
  • These are definitely things that I've learned over the years, but it's never a bad idea to have them as a reminder. It's so easy to forget & slip back into that self-comforting behavior. So useful for anyone who is an emotional eater.
  • I find that video games that suck me in, or cross-stitching, are both things I can do for hours at a time without thinking about whatever craving I'm having.
  • There have been a LOT of excellent points raised here, on both sides. I am clinically 'morbidly obese', and have been for some time now. Now, for the most part, I've always had an hour-glass figure. My favorite joke has always been that as I got older, there were 'more minutes in the hour', but I kept the same basic shape.…
  • Msmjbee, it is so normal to think that way and to be bitterly disappointed when you slip backward, believe me. However, please try to remember that while you can certainly change your eating & exercise habits, the mental illness isn't something that is cured....much like any addiction or some diseases, you can find…
  • Ok, I'm in. I've never done a challenge before, so this should be interesting. I think it's a good way to keep me focused. ...at least I hope so. LOL Here goes... • It is important to acknowledge that your "still walking" and still standing, so congrats! You've been through a LOT! It definitely makes things more challenging, and so I thought it was important to recognize that. It's like no one wants to talk about it. I'm certainly not saying that everyone who struggles with weight has…
  • I'm new here & would love more friends! Can't wait to meet ppl. :) Add me!
  • Hey, so glad to see so many success stories! Congrats to you all! Also, very happy to see I'm not the only one just starting this journey. Ideally, I should lose around 150 to 170 pounds. I'd be thrilled to lose 120, to be honest. Health is the biggest motivator right now. I don't want to be the person who becomes a…
