If anyone is interested, I created a group for belly dancers: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/122040-belly-dancers-unite A couple already existed but they seemed to be pretty dead

I love Datura Online. It has a lot of variety so I can find a video or series of videos for whatever I'm in the mood for. It's a great supplement to the in-person classes I'm lucky enough to have access to :)

Ooh I love layering. It's so challenging but so satisfying when you get it right. For undulations, since you don't have a lot of mobility in your spine, try working on doing belly rolls with it. It will make it look bigger while being gentle on your spine, since the undulation will come from your abs :)

Hopping into this discussion 7 months later... ;) Another online resource for belly dance classes is Datura Online. It was started by Rachel Brice and has classes in traditional, tribal, fusion, as well as things like yoga and pilates :) I started belly dancing in 2012 with an Egyptian belly dance teacher, then discovered…

My mom was suffering from gall bladder symptoms for a while (don't remember if it was gall stones, or something else with the gall bladder). Took a long time to actually diagnose because her symptoms were sort of general and all over the place. Once it was diagnosed, she had her gall bladder removed. She healed from the…

If you like donuts or other sweets, you should be incorporating that into your diet plan. If it's something you like, why would you deprive yourself of it indefinitely? I'm not saying sit yourself down with a whole box, everything in moderation. The best diet is the one you stick with, so allowing yourself to eat foods you…

I second a trip to the dermatologist. Acne can be caused by so many many different things, your dermatologist can be a great resource to narrow it down and find something that works long-term (even if a juice cleans clears your acne, which seems like a dubious claim, a juice cleanse isn't a sustainable habit)

I tried caviar in Russia, while staying with a host family, and had to try so hard not to just spit it out immediately. Blech. It was the big orange kind, so it was just like huge gooey balls of salty fish pee flavor >.<

If you're feeling super lazy or short on time, you can always experiment with frozen meals. Just check the nutrition info for a particular meal to make sure it's balanced. You can always add a side of whatever is missing (protein, starch, veggies) if you need to. Also, if you ever have a day with a little extra time to…

Maybe try some sort of fitness class? You can make friends there, and then have the social and accountability aspects you're missing, since your current friends aren't fans of exercise. One of my main sources of exercise is that I take dance classes and am in a dance troupe.

That 1200 calories estimated by MFP is the BARE MINIMUM your body needs to continue functioning normally if you do literally nothing but sit and breathe all day. If you eat less than that, your body starts to break down, decrease its metabolism, etc. It's going into starvation mode, trying to be more efficient (a bad thing…

I really like the app Home Workouts Personal Trainer by Fitness22. It's basically a database of exercises that require no equipment, or just free weights, and you can create your own routines.
