2800 on Sunday night...including 20x50. Coach was in a mean mood.

Mirena did not work for me and I had it taken out after about a year. I didn't experience any weight gain on it but did notice a slight loss once it was removed.

Leftover potatoes, sauerkraut, and smoked sausage
-
Choc-cola...in a can. Also, Egg Nog ice cream - couldn't find it anywhere this holiday season!
-
Today it was leftovers - usually it's some sort of bowl consisting of quinoa, protein (chicken or salmon), and bunches of veggies. I like to throw in something pickled for a bit of tang. Convenient because I can eat it hot or cold depending on my work schedule.
-
About 1,800 yards last night. Was being a little lazy - kept a slow but consistent pace and largely ignored the workout (that's what happens when the coach doesn't show up!)
-
I've tried the green Edamame pasta from Aldi and enjoyed it - I know they had the other choice so will have to try it based on your recommendation. I liked that I can leave out any protein source that I would include with traditional spaghetti and still feel that I got a balanced meal. I also found the texture to not be…

Good swim last night - about 3,000 yards. Trying to work back up slowly but surely.
-
3,200 last night...mostly pulls, thanks coach. Hopefully my arms will remain attached today.

I've been stuck on quinoa bowls lately because they're easy to make in advance, filling, and versatile. I make up a batch and mix in salsa or canned tomatoes, add a protein (chicken, beans, or salmon), and throw in veggies. I like that I can warm it or eat it cold (as I'm dashing to a meeting). I like to throw in a handful…

Yesterday about 3,000 yards with Masters. Trying to get back into it after taking a break for some medical issues.
-
What these folks said. I also use sugar free jello, if you like it. Sweet enough to cut the hankering and minimal calories.
-
Wondering the same. I swim with Masters and the fast lanes get in roughly 5k during our longer 1.5 hour practices. Us kids in the slow lanes hit about 75% of that. It does get mundane in a 25yd pool.

I'm in the same boat - 5'6", 135...I have clothes from size 2 to 10 in my closet (all fit) - it's completely annoying. And everything has to be hemmed because I don't wear 6 inch heels.
-
I am very sorry this happened to you - it sounds like you are making amazing changes for yourself and that should be applauded! I agree with the others about trying to move beyond negativity from strangers - much easier said than done, of course! Sadly I have been with my father in these types of situations - he is very…

This - I look for the "meat and potatoes" dish. Not the most exciting thing but the easiest way to eliminate the hidden/unknown calories for me. I find that most places will advertise the size of a steak, making it easy to cut it in half (or whatever) and box up leftovers. I guesstimate on chicken or fish. Of course, this…

Howdy from Arlington, VA!

It's been a mind over matter thing for me. When I began my weight loss journey, I had to trick myself a bit and I used snacks to do that ("Oh look, I'm eating very small healthy meals but I get all these snacks as well so I haven't cut back at all"). Now that healthy eating is my lifestyle, I've starting ramping up my…

Yay, thank you for the additional responses! I really do like it so I think I'll give home brewing a try.
-
I second this, with a couple of twists...use butter instead of mayo and cut a nice, thick slice of vidalia (sweet) onion to add. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. And yes, virtually no nutritional value whatsoever but oh-so-delicious!
-
I put them in my overnight oats because, well, most of the recipes call for them as a thickener. I enjoy the little crunch they add but haven't noticed quite the effect you have.
-
I experience the same thing if I don't pair it up with protein somehow. I usually through in a healthy spoonful of PB2, which helps. I recently have tried protein powder, which helped significantly but I don't love the taste. Hope you find something that works for you!

It really is a nice option, if it's an investment you can afford to make (or even better, get your employer to purchase). When I have my "desk days" (days with basically no meetings), I find I feel much better if I alternate sitting and standing about every 45mins-1hr. I do recommend one of the floor mats for when you…

Oh, I'm not familiar with water kefir - does it have the same fizz as kombucha? I will have to see if a store has some nearby for me to try and do some research into making it! I find I just like fermented foods/drinks versus using them for any health benefits (real or imagined). I don't drink much soda but really enjoy…
-
Two good opinions...thank you both!
-
Agree with the other responses - it happens to all of us from time to time. For me, the big thing is not beating myself up over it - think of all the super successful days when I've done well and realize they far outnumber the once in a while day where snacking just happens. And if it's helpful, I did the same thing last…

Love them...and thinking about what I will do with the bag of them at home now that you all have shared your recipes with me!
-
I buy them at Aldi - smallish bag and have never found any non-chia seed things in them :)
-
Me too! I should try the protein powder - I currently use chia seed as the thickener, unsweetened almond milk, a splash of vanilla, cinnamon, and whatever fruit I have on hand. I usually add PB Powder but doesn't sound like that will work for the OP right now.
