  • I normally go over on the weekends but not by more than 200ish calories. I also make sure it works within my weekly goals. It seems that your cheat meal would be eating into your weekly deficit. Allow yourself some small "cheats" during the week that work within your calories and then you might not feel the need to go so…
  • I am Hypo and still lose weight without watching carbs. When was the last time you went to the endocrinologist and had your levels tested? If make sure you are on the correct levels of meds. Then just make sure you are logging correctly.
  • Make sure you see an endocrinologist and that your levels/meds are where they should be. It took me a little while to get the momentum going but finally I am seeing good .5-1lb a week results. Keep with it, log everything, and exercise even if it's just walking. Also I do not restrict certain food groups, CICO.
  • We hope to start trying for #2 in the next few months. I had high BP during #1 (she's only 10mos right now) and would like to lose some more weight before #2. I have lost 37lbs from my pregnancy high.
  • What has helped me it to map out my days food, meals, snacks, drinks and all. It give me a roadmap for the day. Also, I started out by just walking for exercise and am recently adding back in body weight strength training, some weights and spinning. I am not yet at my goal weight but I feel this is more long term than…
  • I agree, take the meds. I am hypo as well, and my hair loss and weight gain go away while I'm on them and my levels are inline. Those side effects you mentioned do not have to do with the meds but the underlying hypo itself. Did you see an Endo or just your primary? See an Endo. I am 10mos postpartum, have lost all my baby…
  • While I was pregnant and overweight, I was told not more than 20lbs. Your OB should have told you, if not, ask at your next visit. Generally (with a not high risk or complicated pregnancy) during the first trimester you don't need extra calories, the 2nd 200-300 and the 3rd about 500.
  • I have been eating dark chocolate covered almonds as my nightly snack. I only need about 4 to help my cravings. I also like making banana ice cream.
  • My LO is 9mth old and has never slept through the night. I sleep when I can, going to bed by 8pm most week nights and my husband helps with some of the nighttime feeds. I am still losing my 0.5-1lb a week.
  • Once a week, as I will become too obsessed with what the scale says otherwise.
  • Where did you come up with 1200 calories? Did you do the guided set up on MFP? Also make sure you log any exercise and eat back those calories.
  • Please see an endocrinologist! I have hypo but not hashimoto and yes at first your meds might take a visit or two to get to the correct dosage. But you really should see a specialist as the PCP's don't understand the disease. It took me a while to start to see the scale move, but keep at it. I am now steadily losing 1lb a…
  • I got married at 34, me my husband at 29.
  • I am a working Mom and I get up at 5am to get about 30mins of yoga in 4-5 days a week. I leave the house by 6:15. I walk walk 2-3miles 6 days a week, mostly on my lunch break. On the weekends I normally walk with my little one.
  • My boobs are way too big to try to get one of those ones on. I normally find good ones on Title Nine.
  • I try to change up all the time. One of my favorites is an adult lunchables. Good lunch meat or sliced salami (the kind you get near the good cheese), fresh mozzarella, and then just things like olives, marinated mushrooms (or any marinated veggies) and sometimes a small thing of nuts. I also do spaghetti squash with…
  • I am 5'4" and 185, with light activity and 2lbs a week to lose, I am just over 1300 (not sure the exact number). So 1200 seems too low. I also make sure to add in my exercise and eat most of those calories. I try not to have too much snacky things in the house or just make sure they are healthy. Right now my evening snack,…
  • Scrambled eggs with avocado and salsa on top or a piece of toast with a melted cheese, fried egg and avocado.
  • I have blood work next week and will see my Endo early Oct. I was going to ask her about Armour Thyriod. I have always had issues losing weight and now that have I had a baby, it's even worse. I would also like to hear if anyone is taking it and feels better with it then Levo/Synthroid.
  • Talk to your DR, mine was fully paid for by insurance. I have had well documented back issues for years.
  • I have cut back on my wine intake, but when I do have it I pencil it into my calories for the day. I also like vodka soda, so having one of those instead normally works into my plan a little better.

  • Make sure you are going to get your levels checked on a regular basis. Not only is it really bad for your health in general if you are not taking the correct dosage of meds, it will make it nearly impossible to lose weight. I am having my levels checked in a few weeks and am going to bring up to my Endo, that I have been…
  • Me! I only gained 14lbs while pregnant and have lost 15lbs. I was overweight before I got pregnant and am such a different shape now. Tracking my food and trying to get exercise in where I can really has been helping. I need to fit in some strength training but my little one is not yet sleeping through the night at 8mths…
  • That would be me! Although I am no longer breastfeeding, we actually had to go the exclusively pumping route. My LO is 8mos old and keeps us very busy, with very little sleep. So my progress has been slow. I have been trying to meal prep for breakfast and lunch on Sundays and I think it has been helping. I walk about…
