  • My current motivation is my 3month old and my 2.5yr old. That and my 40th is right around the corner, ugh.
  • I waited until I was done breastfeeding to concentrate on losing weight. It can effect your supply. Just try to be active, eat the correct portion size and drink plenty of water.

  • I have an underactive thyroid and it was not brought on by under eating (although I know it can be). It can be brought on by a number of different factors and it is really important to see an endocrinologist. All the symptoms you state can also (similar to under eating) be attributed to your thyroid. Although this may not…
  • Suggestions? [/quote] Make sure you make this in batches or you will end up with a soggy mess. Cook chicken first in batches, dont overcrowd the pan and set aside. Add in your first batch of veggies frozen and cook until almost done. Add in some chicken and sauce, serve. Repeat. Once your chicken is cooked it will be real…
  • I was considered obsess during my last pregnancy, and was told never to intentionally try to lose weight. You can try to keep within your maintenance calories but don't cut any. But as always speak to your Dr please. Also on the morning sickness note, I never had any and had a fairly healthy pregnancy. I also only gained…
  • Agree with the above posters, you are less likely to stick to a reduced calorie "diet" when you eat to little. Go up a little on your calories and it will much easier. Also you are more likely to keep the weight off.

  • I use to weigh weekly but now I weight daily and use the app Libra (Android). It charts my progress and helps me understand why I might have fluctuations. It has helped me a lot to stay on track.
  • I like the Lara Mini Bars.
  • When you have 20lbs or less to lose it is generally recommended to reduce your deficit to .5lb a wk. I just hit the only 20lbs left to go and moved from 1lbs to 0.5lbs.
  • I am giving up desserts in general this year, including chocolate. In year's past I have given up alcohol, meat, pasta (my favorite, I could eat it at every meal), and caffeine. I have found recently that I have been eating more and more desserts and similar to you, don't feel that satisfied afterwards.
  • Do you see an endocrinologist on a regular basis or is the PCP prescribing the Levo? See an Endo and make sure to keep getting your levels checked and meds adjusted. I have been on meds for a while and still lost 35lbs by using CICO.
  • As a fellow hypo, for more reason than weight lose, you need to figure out how to remember to take your meds daily. It is so important for your overall health!
  • As long as you are on the correct meds there should be no issues losing weight. I have hypo and I have lost 32lbs since I had my baby last Dec. Make sure you are logging both food and exercise correctly and it shouldn't be an issue.
  • I was considered obese during my pregnancy last year, 5'4" and starting weight of 186. I was told to try to only gain 20lbs. I was also told you should never actively try to lose weight while pregnant, it happens sometimes with eating better or morning sickness, but don't cut calories. 1st trimester you don't need any…
  • I seem to "stress" less about daily weigh in's than weekly ones. I use the Libra app, and like the accountability of it.
  • Have you been to your Endocrinologist? Make sure you are taking the correct dosage. I have hypo and and losing weight, calories in calories out.
  • I use Sunbasket and can get a good amount of meals that are under 600 calories a serving. I pick my meals out ahead of time based on calories and potential taste. But I would think that would be fine, cut the serving in half and if you still need a little more add a steamed veggie.
  • Since your nutritionist suggested greek yogurt, did you ask them for other alternatives? I would think nuts, seeds, beans, edamame, whole grains (many ancient grains have protein) and more fish would work better than something you don't like.
  • Your goal weight of 110 seems an aggressive place to start. I would think something that is just the other side of healthy/normal to start with would be an easier to get going/see results. Once you hit that goal (maybe 130), reevaluate and adjust then.
  • I have used both Hello Fresh and Sunbasket and like Sunbasket better. You can do 2 or 3 meals per week for 2 or 4 people. They have a good variety of foods in a good range of calories.
  • I am 5' 4" and started at 189, and am currently 168 and I have been eating a lot more than 1200 calories. I have some weeks were even when I stick to my calories I don't lose and others (like this week) where I lost 1.4lbs. Use the guided set up that MFP gives you, log your exercise and stay within the weekly calories.…
  • I eat sweets just about every day, and make sure they work within my calories. A piece of Dove dark chocolate with almonds or Trader Joe's has some really good dark chocolate covered almonds. For me just a little goes a long way.
  • I have a very similar glass, that the pattern marks my 5oz. It helps not have to dirty more dishes to measure out my stress-relief as well ;)
  • I am 5'4" but have a desk job, MFP has my calories at 1340 (at 1lb a wk and I think I started at 1380). Started at 189 and now down to 170. I would go back to using the calories that MFP gives you during the set up. Do lightly active (to account for work) and then add in any of your exercise, but only eat back 50-75% of…
  • I always work "weekend eating" into my weekly totals. So each day I might go 100-200 calories under to make sure everything from the weekend evens out. Look at your weekly charts/numbers, that is a better indicator than just your daily goals.
  • 5' 4" starting weight 189 current weight 171 goal weight 145
  • For me it's best to plan out what I am eating and thus I pre-log my meals. Normally I work in my snacks during the day, since I don't always plan those out.
  • I have Trader Joe's dark chocolate covered almonds, just a few is all I need.
  • Love spin class and have recently gotten back after having my LO almost 11mos ago!
