Lost 150 lbs after surgery. 7 years out. Hunger back at about year 5. Gained almost 40 lbs. so sad I could cry. Instead, back in the saddle. Walking 2-1/2 miles to start. Will work back up to 5. Counting everything I put in my mouth. Reaching my protein goal which is a little over 100g. Drinking 90 oz of water everyday.

I struggled with a b-belly when I weighed 294 pounds, and I still have a b-belly at 145 lbs. When I gain it seems to be in my belly and when I lose it is in my belly. BUT I have never lost the b-belly. I have had 5 babies and have lost half my body weight. I think it must be genetic to store fat there. I have come to terms…

Iced Coffee with 1/2 protein shake in place of cream and a single kodiak pumpkin pancake.

I had a total hysterectomy more than a year ago. I did gain about 10 lbs since then. Went to the top of my maintenance and then up 5 more. But it wasn’t because of surgery. It was because I wasn’t eating well. I was allowing little snacks, licks, bites, tastes, bigger portions at mealtime, etc. Plus, I quit walking because…

“Yes I have. Unfortunately my insurance only covers a teeny tiny %. I have been told to use different lingo though - "Educator", instead of a "Nutritionist". I still have to call about that. I also asked my Primary for a Referral to an Endocrinologist, but he wants to see me first. I don't understand why, since I'm not…

Have you asked for a referral to a registered dietician who specializes in diabetes. They can be a great resource to help manage your good choices.

Anywhere that has grilled chicken strips (chick fil a, Pdq, zaxby’s,) or a grilled chicken sandwich no bun extra lettuce, tomato, and pickle. Most burger places will do the burgers with no bun. I ask for salads with no cheese and dressing on the side. I will choose kids meal lots of places for lower calories. I love the 10…

Most days I just have iced coffee with some protein liquid instead of cream. Today I added a slice of veggie quiche left over from this past weekend because it was there , and it was yummy!

Happi Foodi has really good “cauliflower rice” bowls.

Ninja. Has a regular blender pitcher and 2 smoothie cups. I actually prefer the regular pitcher for frozen fruit and ice.

Baked sourdough pretzel bites. Not a meal, but the kids ate almost all of them for a snack.

Spaghetti and meatballs.

Recently tried the quest drinks. Not much different than premier. I don’t think they keep me full but they are adequate for the protein and calories I need. If it gives you the energy you need to get through until you can fix some food, then they are worth a try.

I drink iced coffee to help curb cravings, but I use sugar free creamers or sweetener and low-fat milk or almond milk. Sometimes I add some premier protein if I need some protein to get me going.

Last night was bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches on fresh sour dough rolls. Tonight is some kind of chicken, roasted broccoli and carrots, and buttered egg noodles. Since I had a late afternoon snack of Greek yogurt with fresh blueberries and a drizzle of honey, I’m not hungry and feel unmotivated to figure out the chicken…

Leftovers with some kind of protein with veg or fruit, Greek yogurt with frozen fruit and granola, lunch meat and spinach in a Joseph’s pita, hummus with veggies and crackers, any kind of taco in a corn tortilla.

Iced coffee with Premier protein.

Lots of homemade bread (not necessarily low calorie but super yummy), plenty of roasted veggies and grilled chicken, shrimp, steak, and sausages, pork or chicken in the crock pot. Lots of taco/burrito anything. That seems the easiest since we can use any kind of meat (oftentimes leftover meats from previous meals) and each…

Right now I have brioche buns rising to cook for burgers tonight.

Tortellini with red and/or white sauce and meatballs, Caesar salad. I had leftover spaghetti squash with leftover grilled chicken and red sauce since I don’t typically eat pasta but my family loves it.

Sometimes I just have to go to bed. The later I stay up the more I want to eat.

I love it with pears or frozen blueberries. Also like pepper and boiled eggs on top of cottage cheese.
