I would do nothing. You've already said something which is more than enough. Unless it is work related it's none of your business. And definitely not a reason to tell the boss.

Do the locals drink the tap water? I would try drinking bottled water few weeks and see if this cures the problem. You want to eliminate that possibilty right away. Be careful with washing your produce-- make sure you do that in bottled water. In 3 months you should have acclimated to the water if it is ok. However I'm in…

You can get nutrients from the juice without the fiber. Not everyone can digest that much fiber. I can't at this stage of my life and I want the extra nutrients from the vegetables. You don't know the condition of every person on Earth so the blanket statement that any juice is bad is just ridiculous.

I used to have this problem. So I would plan to eat more--bigger breakfast, more calories in my lunch (and dinner if applicable) so that I would be fueled for the evening or night workout. I would eat something afterwards, but I don't like to eat heavy (or meat) in the evening. It doesn't work for me to have 700 exercise…

I don't eat out as much as I used to. I find it easier to stick to my calorie allotment by making it myself. If I do eat out, and it is not with friends for a special occasion, my go to is Panera. They list the calories and they have a salads, sandwiches and hot foods that fit in easily, especially the Pick 2, which for me…

I was just responding to the other post that said that she had a difficult time buying clothes these days because the ratios had changed. I can't say if that's the case because I'm no longer that measurement, but in my early adulthood (1980s/90s) I never had any issues with clothes not fitting even with the 10-12 inch…

I use a little every morning in tea or coffee. I have for a few years. No reactions at all. I agree it tastes funny but it is very sweet so I use only a tiny amount.

You should buy larger and get them altered. It's a shame that custom made clothes are no longer cheap in the USA. I had some items made for me when I lived abroad and it was cheap, the clothes fit perfectly and I picked out the designs and fabrics. I just found what I wanted in a photo from a magazine, showed it to the…

I don't think the fasts are helpful but I have a slow juicer and I believe in juices added to your regular meals for health reasons. I do not juice fruit usually because of the high sugar content but green vegetable juices and others I find are helpful with insomnia and boosting immunity when sick. I cannot eat as many…

I have 1 cup cooked oats. I cook it in water in my rice cooker. 150 calories. I add 8-10 g of sesame seeds for crunch, cinammon, 1/4 tsp maple syrup and about 1/4 of a pomegranate seeds. Comes to about 300 calories. Sometimes I'll use blueberries instead or if I have neither than a few raisins. For a light breakfast I'll…

I estimated 1000.

In my late teens and 20s my measurements were 36, 24/25, 36, which was a typical measurement back then (80s) for young women, which is 10-12 inch difference between waist/bust, and waist hips.

The only place I can get a real food meal (not junk food) under 1000 calories is PANERA, or a salad place. If I'm going to a "real" restaurant I just consider it a cheat meal because anything other than a salad is probably over 1000 calories. If it is tasty food I probably will want to eat it all!

I don't watch football, so no problem for me!

I started at 2 lbs. Per week but I could only sustain that to lose about 25 lbs. I started last week of June 2017 and so far have lost 38 lbs. I have 62 to go. I've lost the last 13 lbs about 1 lb per week. I have a busy life, demanding job with people. I cannot be low energy, cranky or hungry. So at 1 lb. Per week I can…

If I know I'm going to exercise a lot, like 800 calories, I will prepare and plan to eat bigger meals that day or the day before. This way I eat back the calories to fuel the work out. If you work out at night, of course you probably won't want to eat a big meal afterwards. For me that has caused problems. I would wake up…

Well, if you make your diary PUBLIC then people can give you feedback.

Those really tiny ladies have to go shop in the juniors' or children's departments... if the petite 0 does not fit.

I also think this line of defense of a VLCD is not a good idea. Unless you are monitoring your friend's diet, which is less than 1000 net calories, according to YOU, how do you know exactly what he is eating? It's one thing to talk about yourself. Also for all we know you are 4 feet tall so, that is a good amount of…

I monitor my sodium, and manually changed it to 1500. That said I often go over 1500 but definitely I try to stay below 2300. I used to add salt to my food after cooked, but I've stopped doing it. It is pointless to try and monitor and control water retention, as there can be many factors, but when I stopped adding salt to…

I eat back all my exercise calories. When by chance I haven't, it is NOT pretty! Starving, waking up in the middle of the night, lethargic and cranky. Just not good.

If you have 150 lbs. to lose you can do 2 lbs. per week. The guide is 1% of your body weight to lose. So over 200 lbs. you can lose 2 lbs. per week. My starting weight was 237, and I'm down to 199. (GW is 137). I started at 2 lbs. per week to lose, and was able to do that relatively comfortably until I hit about 25 lbs.…

Definitely eat back your exercise calories and increase your calorie intake. As a man that size who is ALSO WORKING OUT, you need to fuel it. It doesn't make sense IMO to undereat and potentially lose muscle, and lifting weights so as not to lose that muscle. Why not just eat more and lose less, and then your workouts…

Different strokes for different folks. The idea of eating baby food makes me gag. It's up there with dog food and cat food!! Yuck.

I enjoy cooking, but sometimes I need a break from cooking 3 meals a day for one person. This past week, I just had to take a break and eat out some. I've been making breakfast smoothie for the last couple of days because it is just one less meal to cook. I got a bit burned out. Then there are the dishes. I have a…

I'm no expert, it's just that from what I read on here, the weight loss when you are at a normal weight already is REALLY slow. You might actually be losing fat but you can't see it on the scale because it is so slow. I guess if you aren't hungry or low energy when you aren't eating back your exercise calories, it doesn't…

Well at 133 lbs. and 5'8" you are already at a normal weight. Probably the most you can lose is .25-.5 lb. per week. Have you considered strength training instead of losing weight to get the body you want?

^^^ I didn't think the response was getting personal at all. They were just explaining the concepts and it was done in a very respectful and objective manner.

Since rice and oatmeal are part of your culture, I agree thinking about this as a "life-long" thing may be premature. From reading this thread it seems like portion control was more an issue than eating carbs (vs. other macros). When you wrote "oatmeal and fruit" you didn't say 1 serving (150 calories) of oatmeal and 1…

I used to be a vegetarian and was a vegan for 3 years. I have been an omnivore for the last 18 years. (I'm 52). I was veg and vegan in my late 20s early 30s. I was ok with both vegetarian and vegan when I had a rather tranquil life and was able to prepare all my meals. When I moved, changed careers and had to eat out and…
