If this doesn't clear up, I suggest you visit your doctor. I don't want to scare you, but I have a friend with MS and her initial symptoms were similar. It might not have anything to do with your workouts.

Almost anybody (5'0 or taller) WILL lose weight with 1200 calories. That's not making it "work." When it "works" is when you lose the weight, AND keep it off afterwards, IMO. If one is relying on sheer willpower to lose and then returns to previous eating patterns, then is has not "worked". It takes time to develop the…

From age 17-35, I jogged 4 miles daily (1 hour). I was a normal weight and didn't have any knee problems. When I stopped jogging (due to change in career and city) I gained about 30 lbs. I would recommend not using the running for weightloss, but for enjoyment and/or fitness . It is a good way to burn calories, but make…

Beautiful! You don't even look like the same person.

Do you stretch after your walking workout?

This is an OLD thread! Why do people keep doing this???

Go to a French restaurant! Unless it is the country French type (usually cheaper), the portion will be small!

Think of how you would have to do it without the app and internet! That would be WORK. Writing on a piece of paper, looking up all the calories, adding it up.

I don't think she was trolling. She has posted over 500 times on here and her photo is there. Maybe she is fasting today and going on MFP makes her think of food....

Not a good idea to starve yourself for two days a week. I don't need any evidence to justify that. To me it is just COMMON SENSE. Eventually your body or mind is going to rebel or burnout with that schedule. You are not sitting on a mountain meditating. You have children, a job, family, and live in the modern world. That…

I'm sure I still like them, but by going cold turkey my cravings for them disappeared. I was eating a bag per day (2-2.5 servings) before. That is about 300-400 calories. I switched to pop chips for a while (100 calories) then I just stopped.

potato chips.

I don't freeze much since I don't like leftovers. I will freeze the arroz con pollo I make or soups, but usually I eat them that same week or the next at the latest. I will freeze that in a plastic container. I don't use plastic containers in my frig--only glass, but I'll eat the leftover the next day.

I have never seen a Cracker Barrel. We don't have it in my area.

I ate pasta two times a day (lunch and dinner) whenever I was in Italy and always lost weight. So it's not the pasta itself. I make pasta at least once a week, but I eat one serving (before mfp tracking I'd probably eat 2-3 if I were making it myself). I prefer to just cut up a tomato and put it on the pasta. Depending on…

I have a very high grocery bill. I do cook mostly every meal. I like gourmet and I also live in an expensive area. What does help is simplifying meals, so that they use a minimum of ingredients. It is much cheaper to just make a protein, rice and a vegetable than to make a more complex rice dish, which is going to require…

How long did it take you to lose the 30 lbs.?

I also vote for bringing your own food. I like the idea of eating it somewhere and then coming back and joining the colleagues, avoiding any comments about it. Or I could see bringing my own food and if someone comments, just say "I'm on a special diet." And leave it at that. They don't have to know why. I had a colleague…

For me, the snacks wouldn't make it into the baggie! I have to buy it pre-portioned and sealed. It's more expensive but I just cannot buy a big bag of snacks without eating the whole thing.

If you are eating 500-600 calories over your limit on Saturday and Sunday, that's 1200 calories (and perhaps more depending on how accurate you are logging/weighing). You need to figure out what to eat at the restaurants so that you can stick to your calorie goal, at least one of those days. If you have a lot to lose and…

Definitely! I made the mistake one day of forgetting my dance sneakers for a zumba class. I went ahead and did the class in my running shoes and I did not like it! I didn't get injured but my movement was restricted and it was easier to trip, without the full range of movement. I have a dance background (and know latin…

I do one or two zumba classes a week. I do have a dance background, but I'm still overweight so I can't really do more than that. I didn't have any foot pain, but I did have knee pain when I was bigger (I'm currently at 194) but that disappeared as I lost more weight. For zumba I have always worn a dance sneaker, which I…

That's really fast. You lost about 10 lbs. per month, or 2lbs. per week. Are you going to try again? As people say on MFP, you don't have to eat healthy to lose, you just have to eat in a deficit. When you maintain you need to know how many calories you have and don't go over. (Easier said than done of course).
-
^^ I am also shocked that you and the OP gained so much weight in just a few months. Did you and/or the OP lose the initial weight very quickly? You would have to eat a lot of extra calories every day to gain 10 lbs. in a month. I could see if someone had a very agressive deficit (more than 2lbs. per week) and eating under…

Today was not ideal. I had blueberries in my oatmeal, a banana after dinner. In my chicken and rice (dinner) it included some peas, olives, onions and peppers but not much. . I didn't eat very well today, went over my calories due to lara bars and a salami, cheese snack. Tomorrow is another day!
-
Thanks for clarifying. Are you going to continue logging after reaching your goal weight this time? (No judgment, just asking).

Cereal as a dessert doesn't sound that weird--many cereals in the USA are full of sugar. When I eat my oatmeal in the morning I feel like it is dessert since it's sweet--I add fruit to it. I don't get the seltzer at all, and reddi whip, is fake whipped cream, so I wouldn't eat it. But if you like it, good for you! To make…

blueberries, lettuce, tomato, avocado, red onion, apple so far. Later I may have a tangerine, plum or orange, and a juice of cucumber, spinanch, celery and green apple.

It's good you are back. Were you logging during the last three years? How long did it take you to lose the initial 50 lbs.?

^^ I read that thread. In the end I think it comes down to how perceptive and honest a person is with themselves about what they are eating. I think it is much harder to successfully discern how much you are eating without weighing, counting, measuring, tracking, etc. when you have sustained habits that put you into the…
