I believe it. When I first started on MFP I realized after tracking for a day or two, that was how much I had been eating. It was easy to cut back once I knew how much I had been consuming, and how much I should be eating.
-
OP, are you currently tracking on MFP? Once you start logging those numbers, it may quell your sugar cravings, if you are motivated to lose the weight. I also like sweets, but if I want to lose weight I CANNOT regularly eat donuts (at least 300 calories each), two pieces of cake (especially if I didn't make it myself,…

The only restaurant I can eat at and that fits in my calorie allotment in deficit, is Panera or a fast food restaurant that lists calories. Otherwise, at a "real restaurant" I have to consider it a cheat meal, because at the least it will be 800 calories (some kind of salad with dressing, bread or breakfast) or 1000 plus,…

Just count the calories. It's so much simpler than guessing and doing one of those crazy diets.

Yes. I don't weigh them, but I do log them. So it's an estimate.

I've tried sunbasket. This is the 2nd week I ordered. They are expensive. The recipes are easy to make and the food fresh.

I generally ate whole foods and healthy and gained weight. I ate too much. If one is aware of portion sizes or has always been thin and never overeats then of course it's possible. It's just that a lot of people are clueless about how much they should be eating. If people knew this, we would not have an obesity epidemic.…

There are lots of sites and BMI calculators. This one has a chart of healthy weight ranges. https://www.rush.edu/health-wellness/quick-guides/what-is-a-healthy-weight

First, take a break until it heals and feels normal. You haven't said how much you weigh. I have made certain fitness goals to achieve and workouts depending on my weight. I started at 237 lbs. And my most vigorous workouts had to be swimming. I could walk but still had knee issues. I added a Zumba class at about 215 but…

I understand. I gained about 60 lbs. In 6 years from a stress ful job. I was overweight by about 30 lbs before that but it was not crisis. In July 2017 I started on mfp at 237. I've lost 40 lbs. Since then and have 60 to go. When I reach 175 I will be overweight (not obese) and I'm looking forward to that. Only 20 lbs. A…

I haven't tried the Key Lime. I bought the Strawberry Chocolate chip and at first I didn't like it, but then it grew on me. It calms the chocolate monster yet, there's no way I want to eat more than one at a time!! I just bought today the Cinammon Roll and Cherry pie ones, which I haven't tried before. My favorites have…

I eat them. I have been since i started my diet on MFP in July 2016. I prefer the 90-110 mini bars, but sometimes have the full bars. A couple of bites (mini bars) will stave off the hunger until I can get a real meal and they are easy to carry and eat on the go. I sometimes have only a few minutes to eat something and…

^^ The binging or overeating is an important problem. This is exacerbated when your deficit is too much (like having a 1,000 calorie deficit, exercising and burning 500 calories and your net is 700 calories). Most likely doing this on a regular basis you are going to overeat to compensate.

A lot of people have no idea that cico Works. The media and diet fitness industry have said it does not. If people succeeded at weight loss than a lot of people would be unemployed in the diet fitness industry.

I started at 2 lbs. per week (I had 100 lbs. to lose, I'm down 40!) and changed it after about 20 lbs. as it became too difficult to sustain. I didn't have any stomach cramps from eating less. In fact, I had digestive and elimination problems BEFORE starting the diet and they disappeared COMPLETELY after I lost about 25…

Is your husband overweight? I only ask because if he is, he may be unconsciously sabotaging you. He's making it about money and waste but it could be he does not want face that H E should be losing weight too.

I have eaten back ALL my exercise calories and have lost 40 lbs. It depends on the person.
-
Eat more during the day.
-
At least 500 calories. With chocolate in it probably closer to 600.
-
This is just not necessary, especially with a high BMI. I started July 2017 at 237 lbs. and I lost my first 20-25 or so 2 lbs. per week, then switched to 1 lb. per week so I could eat more. Currently I eat 1500-1600 net. I weighed in at 196 today and I'm very happy to have lost 40 lbs. without starving myself or being…

5 glasses a day? So that means 10 glasses on the weekend? That's a lot of calories! And it's not just that it's 2 days. It would be one thing if you drank that much 2 days every other month, or every six months, but you are doing it every weekend. That means probably 4000 extra calories (or more, depending on how big those…

I weigh weekly, except if for some reason I don't get to the gym. I weigh at the same scale at the gym. I do not have a scale at home. Once a month would not be enough for me. I got fat in the first place when I stopped weighing myself.
-
Yeah but if you continued over the years buying size 10 for example without weighing yourself you'd be in trouble. Since yesteryears size 10 is now a 2 or 4. And clothes stretch over time with wear so you cannot depend on it to assure you've not gained.

I wouldn't trust at all the calories info on dining hall food. Who knows if the cooks are even aware of what is published? And when they dish it out they can be random.
-
There is also the school of thought out there that people shouldn't weigh themselves, and should go by "how your clothes fit." That would be very misleading with the vanity sizing.

68 calories in a tablespoon of Chia seeds, 30 calories in tbsp of ground flax seeds, 57 calories in 1 tbsp of hemp seeds. That's 155 calories right there. Plus how much oatmeal? If it is just 1 cup cooked that's 150, strawberries don't have many calories, about 25 for a half cup, but are you making it with water or…

I've heard that off the rack wedding dresses are not vanity sized and that some brides to be freak out when told the size they should get. Here's a link to a short article with some graphs that show how the sizing has changed for women's clothing over the past 50 years:…

People care, otherwise this thread would have ended long ago. And not necessarily because of ´others´ size, but because of oneself. I mentioned it on another thread on the same topic. I don´t blame vanity sizing for my weight gain, but it would have been a lot more obvious to me if I were wearing a size 26 as opposed to a…

Pump up your workout. If you are more tired you'll sleep. How old are you? If mid 40s that's peri-menopause.

Either up your calories or take a diet break. When that happens to me I know I need a break for a couple of days. A cheat day (for me that's logging about 500 calories extra --about maintenance now, nothing too crazy) will keep me balanced.
