I started this whole process in April of 2017 because after a blood test my doctor called me in ASAP. Boy was that a wake up call. Blood sugar was diabetes A1c 9.0. Had been steadily going up for a few years but I paid no attention to it. Doctor said "stop eating sugar and processed foods as much as possible." I listened…

I like that. If I may, I would like to change the end....Losing weight is hard. Being obese is fatal.

My new health plan includes a gym membership. I want to slowly start a weight training regime. I have lost 50 pounds with no exercise so I'm hoping to put the weight loss into overdrive by adding exercise.

My NSV is that today, for probably the first time in at least 15 years I was able to wear a 2XL shirt. How cool is that?

Don't get discouraged. Keep logging and try to stay within your calorie limit. If you go higher don't beat yourself up. Tomorrow is another day.

Making my own lunch and bringing it to work instead of just grabbing something from a fast food joint.

Hit 285 this morning. My mini goal is to be in the 270's by February. SW: 335

Good luck. Remember, slow and steady and don't ever get discouraged. You can do it!

Got it. thanks for the explanation! I also thought it meant Woo Hoo.

I finally became realistic about weight loss. You cannot lose 10 pounds a week. I am now happy to lose a pound or 2 every two weeks and don't give up if the weight fluctuates or stalls. I've lost almost 50 pounds in a year and am very happy with it even though I have a lot more to lose.

What does Woo mean? I'm confused?

At B J's they sell Mission high fiber tortillas. 32 grams of carbs but 26 grams of fiber.

I just got back from a one week vacation and gained 10 pounds. Obviously I didn't consume 35,000 excess calories so I didn't panic. After being home for a week and logging, I am back to where I was before vacation. Just get back on the horse and you'll be fine.

I went from 43 to 37. Not great but it is progress

I'm not at goal yet but have lost 45 pounds. The one thing I think is helping me is that I know tomorrow is another day, so if I go over my calories today, tomorrow is only a night's sleep away.

Walked around the world at EPCOT without limping after only half way. Also walked back to the car instead of taking the tram. Big win for me

My A1c went from 9 in April to 5.4 in July. My doctor couldn't believe it. Made me go back last week to test it again and it was even lower, 4.7! He said he never saw such a dramatic improvement in such a short time. He even asked me what the heck I was doing and told him about logging every morsel of food on MFP. He even…

Broke the 290 barrier this morning, 288.9. Next stop, 275. Shooting for February....

My highest weight - that I know of - was 345 but I had been steady at 335 for a pretty long time. I started trying to cut back on carbs and processed foods in April and magically started to lose weight. That's when I decided to start using MFP. July 27th 2017 was my first day of logging. I was already down to 310. Using…

Maintaining my A1c. In May it was 9 and only 4 months later it was 5.4. My doctor wants to test me in November so I am working hard to maintain.

I've tried every diet known to man. In the mid 1990's I tried Jenny Craig which worked great for 2 years (lost 70 lbs) but once I stopped eating the frozen foods I gained it all back plus another 50lbs! I've counted calories which has always helped. Not too long ago my doctor diagnosed me with type 2 diabetes, so I started…

I didn't need the seat belt extension when I flew on an airline. That was always so embarrasing asking for one.
