  • It's a nutritional program. They have vitamins, shakes, meal replacement bars etc. Some use it to lose weight; others use to to fuel their workouts.
  • I am turning 40 in October, and part of the reason I have been working on myself this year (losing weight, working out etc) was because I wanted to be fit and 40 :) I would welcome friends/support and would provide the same in return for any of you. Feel free to add me.
  • Free free to add me as well. I have been doing Isagenix since February 1, and while my weight loss is getting closer to the goal...I am still using and loving the products and love having other ISA MFP friends for support!
  • So maybe start with just tracking how much and when you are drinking and try to reduce it. Or try to drink and stay within your calories for the day. For me, making the decision to not drink has gone better when I say "I don't drink" versus "I can't" it's a mind trick but it works.
  • Happy belated birthday!!
  • Start fresh tomorrow!
  • I have thought about that too. But you know I would rather meet someone without the wine goggles...and see if I really like them and I'd like for them to see me without wine/alcohol and have them get to know me and really like me as I am too. There are plenty of first dates that you can do without alcohol...and lots of…
  • Hang in there. It gets better!
  • I have been using this app to track my days without alcohol called nomo. I'm at 54 days...the cool thing is you estimate how much money you were spending per week and time...The app says that I have saved $312.93 by not drinking...and I've saved 117.28 hours. Of course those are just estimates, but it's pretty cool! :)…
  • We are halfway through the month!
  • Reducing and being aware is a great first step. How other your other health goals going? I find the more I focus on working out and being healthy, I am less tempted or interested in drinking.
  • I wear a Polar Heart Rate monitor when I am doing the recumbent stationery bike. I use that number for calories burned and log it using the "Stationery bike" option in MFP, but i use the calories burned from my heart rate monitor as that's more accurate than what MFP estimates or the machine says.
  • We have a thread going for Sober September, and had a great thread for August too. Starting a group as well if you are interested! http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/122684-alcohol-goals
  • You all are so inspiring!
  • That's awesome! I am going on 51 days now. the longest I have done is 59 days earlier this year, so I am shooting for 60 or 90. The longer I go without and the more I focus on working out and my health goals, the less I even think about wanting alcohol. I am doing so good without it...why start again? When I was drinking…
  • There are plenty of other people who opt against the free wine and get water or coffee :) having a clear head will help you concentrate on getting your hair beautiful...
  • And your scale and liver thanked you this morning:) awesome job!
  • Today is September 10, so we are 1/3 of the way through September! Hang in there people. You are doing great!
  • Good for you! It's interesting how people react sometimes. I had a friend treat me like I had the plague when I went alcohol free for August. When she heard I wasn't drinking in September, she got weird too. I've come to realize, it says more about her than me. She has replaced me with another drinking buddy and I am okay…
  • For those are still struggling...consider just starting to track your drinking. Maybe do it on a calendar or on a spreadsheet for yourself. It was pretty eye opening to me, and also helped me start noticing patterns. I'm still a work in progress and not sure where I will end up on the (moderation/abstinence) spectrum...but…
  • Everyone is welcome! Whether you are trying to quit, reduce or moderate alcohol. We all are on MFP because we want to be healthy. We are all here to support one another no matter what your goals are.
  • I have been abstaining since July 24 and it took a few weeks for scale to change, but it did. I finally was able to break my plateau from mid-May. Be patient!
  • I have to confess I was tempted tonight. I went to the Dr today for bloodwork and he checked it all...I was relieved to find out my liver was a-ok despite drinking heavily the last five years. For a brief moment, I wanted to go get some wine. But then I remembered my health and fitness goals so I poured myself some…
  • Just being here and being aware you want to make a change is a good step. If you can't cut it out completely, try reducing. Instead of two a day, start doing one a day. Baby steps. There are a ton of resources out there about quitting drinking for a reason. Millions of people struggle. You are not alone and you CAN do this.
  • For anyone who is interested, there is a free app in the app store that is called NOMO. You can track your days since your last drink and see how much money and time you are saving. Or there is another app called Days Since where you can count days since an event as well. There are a ton of apps out there, but these are…
  • It's one slip up. Don't beat yourself up. Get back up and try again. You can still be at 29/30 days at the end of this month or whatever your goals are. What I am finding is the more days I go without alcohol is that the ongoing stress in my life is easier to deal with. You will always have triggers, but you are a work in…
  • Club Soda with Lime Shirley Temple (Sprite with Grenadine) Diet Coke with Grenadine. Orange Juice (nobody needs to know it's not a screwdriver) Arnold Palmer (Lemonade/Ice tea) - People will assume it's a Long Island
  • Club soda with lime....
  • Got my hair done last night, and was telling my stylist about my decision to go alcohol free in August and doing a sober September, she said she made the same decision 2.5 years ago and doesn't regret it one bit. Funny how sometimes we trick ourselves into thinking everyone drinks, but the reality is there are a lot of…
  • Set an example. Be patient. He has to want this for himself. Start with yourself. Things will turn around!
