  • Yay!! Congratulations! You put in the work, and you got there. Glad you are feeling so good!
  • Have you started a new workout plan? Sore muscles? Did you weigh at the same time of day with the same amount of clothes on? There's so many things that can cause fluctuations, and 2 pounds can easily be from one of them. If you're logging accurately, you shouldn't worry!
  • I like the 100 calorie whipped greek yogurt. Low calorie snacks don't keep me full for long, though, so I usually opt for more filling foods with more calories and just snacking less often.
  • Hi! Welcome! Good luck!!
  • Weighing raw is more accurate; log as the raw chicken entry or whatever the nutrition label on your chicken package says. If you weigh after cooked, just make sure to find a USDA entry that specifies that it's cooked the way you cooked it (chicken - cooked, baked for example)
  • I plan ahead, if I can. Eat lighter through the day, have a game plan for what I'm going to order. I also like having leftovers for lunch the next day! If I don't have time to plan, or if there's no nutrition info available, I just indulge and enjoy myself and get back on track the next day. Life happens and I have to just…
  • So glad you're in a good spot right now!! One of my biggest motivators when I started was my boyfriend who saw me as more than just the fat girl, so I know how helpful having a supportive guy in your life can be! Kick some booty girl!
  • I believe in you, too! All of the replies here apply to you, as well. You got this.
  • Welcome! And good luck!! :)
  • You're not hopeless. You're here, you're fighting to try. You're just being your own worst enemy right now, but I believe in you. You are worthy and deserving of this opportunity to treat your body well. Don't be ashamed - we are all here because we've struggled. I promise you, you can do it. Read through the forums here,…
  • I only take vitamins if I'm eating strictly plant-based, which I don't plan on doing again. I wouldn't taken them regularly unless my doctor advised it. This is why yearly physicals and blood work are important - you can see if you're deficient and then fix it, otherwise, it's not worth the expense and the constant…
  • I once added crushed pineapple and graham crackers to some cottage cheese. If you like cottage cheese, I'm pretty sure it would be delicious, but I just could not make myself like it, lol.
  • I'm pretty sure there's an option for the potato without the peel, but not positive. I almost always eat the peel when I fix potatoes. Like the above response said, there's probably not too much difference, and it's sometimes nice to have a few extra calories to spare built in if there's a mistake somewhere else.
  • Good luck! I'm glad you're feeling re-motivated and ready to do something amazing for yourself. You made progress before, you know what to do!
  • It's definitely possible, especially, as the previous response said, if you're eating a lot of salty or processed foods. It'll be more water weight and bloat than fat, which is why it comes back off fairly easily, as well. If it feels abnormal for you or your body, doesn't hurt to bring it up with your doctor, though.
  • If you want to work with a weekly balance, yes. I typically eat a little less through the week when I'm working so that I can eat a little more on the weekends when I'm resting and have more time to think about food. If it works for you, it's a perfectly fine way of controlling your calorie intake - you'll still be at a…
  • I have the same shirt I used in my before picture - those 2x shirts make nice sleep shirts, or I'm too lazy to really get dressed so I'm going out in yoga pants and a giant t-shirt shirts, lol. Before pic on left from July of 2014, 269 (31 pounds from highest) and right are today, weighed in at 184.8.
  • I agree with C25K. The important part is not to overdo it. You don't want injuries and you don't want burnout. Slow and steady! Spiriteagle has some good tips! Good luck! You'll get there! And I promise it gets easier, even if you feel like you could never do it. Just keep at it!
  • You did it once, you can do it again! Good luck, Frank!! Also, if I may say, you're doing this for your family, but don't forget to do it for yourself, too! You deserve a healthy, active life! You got this :)
  • My original motivation that led to me losing weight was me beginning to love myself at 310 pounds. I found someone who made me feel beautiful, and when I started to realize that I WAS beautiful, and worthy, and deserving, I started to treat my body better. The more I lost, the better I felt, and I just kept loving myself…
  • It gets easier with time! After a while, it's more of a habit than anything. Lots of helpful links up there already, so I won't bog you down with more :) Good luck!
  • If I’m hungry, I eat. Otherwise, and most often, I wait for lunch. I prefer lunch foods to breakfast foods and I usually sleep late-ish since I work second shift. I don’t ever see a difference between eating breakfast or not, except that without breakfast calories I can have more snacks later, lol.
  • I like using Yoga with Adriene videos on Youtube, and she has a wide range of videos for beginners to advanced, from meditation to power yoga. There are videos specifically for tight muscles, and during all of her videos she will demonstrate ways to modify for too tight muscles. I like doing yoga at home because it…
  • From a very highly experienced Halo Top consumer, I recommend the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream over any other flavor, but I do also enjoy the rainbow swirl, cookies and cream, mint chip, and chocolate mocha chip very much. It's all amazing. I use a pint of Halo Top as a reward for getting through work almost every…
  • Yes, I maintained at 170 for a year and a half even though I need to get down to 140-150. Gained back 20 pounds and I’m using it to jump start me back into counting and logging so maybe I can finally get down to where I want and need to be. I never let it bring me down, though, I’ve loved my body through this whole…
  • Love seeing this!! I’ve been trying to find my groove again to lose what I gained back and then get down to my final goal weight after losing 140, maintaining for a year and a half, then gaining 20 back. Glad you’re feeling so good!! Makes the struggles so worth it!
  • Saturdays are kind of a free day for me. I eat a bit under my goal through the week so I can have Saturdays to not worry about logging or hitting a step or exercise goal. It's life. And without letting myself have some freedom every now and then, I won't stick to it. Enjoy the cheesecake!
  • Yes. I got this a lot as I was losing weight, and when I tell people I'm trying to lose the bit of weight I gained back, about 20 pounds, and then get down to an even healthier weight, another 20-30 pounds, they give me the same response, I'll be skin and bones. It's like, you see my belly here, right??? I'm confident in…
  • I maintained for about a year and a half without counting calories, just let myself go off track a little too long and need an extra boost to get this weight back off (20 pounds gained back, after 140 lost). It's a tool and instills good habits and knowledge for the long run. Sometimes it's good to take a few days to log…
